IT has emerged that Arveen Chandra, one of three principal suspects in the 'Healthgate Scam' involving the regime's former Minister for Health Dr Neil Sharma is first cousin of the Solicitor-General Sharvada Nand Sharma. It is alleged that Chandra was dismissed from his previous workplace for wrongful conduct but Sharma, with his legal connections, allegedly got Chandra back on his feet. Chandra's VanMed business was reportedly struggling and he was moving from Labasa to Lautoka to Suva to set up shop unsuccessfully. It only recently expanded, and as one Fijileaks commentator notes, "readers can now piece together how that was possible". Another of Sharvada Sharma's first cousin is Seema Sharma, Director Trade at Ministry of Industry and Trade.
