Meanwhile, re SUNBEAM and Fiji Bus Industry Review Report:
"The agreement that bus operators should carry school students at 50% of the adult fare was agreed in return for buses being exempt from the fiscal duty on fuel. This was introduced at 9% and later increased to 18%. Bus operators have never paid this duty..."
"It is clear that 24 of the 66 companies do not operate any school routes. These still benefit from not having to pay fiscal duty on fuel... Major beneficiaries are Pacific and

General Manager of Sunbeam Transport Limited Zahid Wahab says there are a few issues that can be sorted out.
Wahab also says they are facing minor issues involving people not having an e-ticketing card.
He adds people who do not have cards are also being assisted as a lot of disposable cards are being sold.
Wahab says on the administration side, a lot of things have changed as there is zero cash handling.
He stresses that top-up locations are something that Vodafone needs to look into.
He says anything that is new takes a little bit of a while to settle in.
