TREASURE OR TRASH: The 2013 CONSTITUTION became a BINDING document the moment SODELPA, NFP, FLP and other parties agreed to contest the 2014 election; so the critics should direct their wrath at them
Meanwhile, from commentator DONU:
Fijileaks: We say to DONU, your allegations are not true. We are not going to stand by and allow extremists on all sides to plunge Fiji into darkness. If coups, followed by the coupsters' constitutions, breed DICTATORSHIP, ask SODELPA to explain why they have appointed Father of Coups Sitiveni Rabuka to lead the party. Victor Lal is repeatedly told: "We need one military leader (Rabuka) to defeat another (Bainimarama). Rubbish! And, PLEASE, stop lecturing us on the 1997 Constitution. The power-sharing concept was designed to ensure that Rabuka became Prime Minister and his housemaid and NFP leader, Jai Ram Reddy, became his minion. As we know, both were defeated by Mahendra Chaudhry (Chaudhry was no military general) in the 1999 election, with Rabuka disappearing into political wilderness and Reddy slipped out of the country, leaving his Indo-Fijian supporters to lick their wounds. As Victor Lal's continuing series on the fall of Chaudhry will explain, it was the power-sharing concept that led to the turmoil of 2000 (among other factors). To date, Reddy has not uttered a word on events in Fiji.
"...Secrecy is the keystone of all tyranny. Not force, but secrecy... censorship. When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, 'This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know,' the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives." --Robert A.
