Fijileaks: We have never shied away from promoting FIJI HINDI and calling for Indo-Fijian politicians and the public championing INDIA HINDI to be deported to MODI's India. As the deadly Indian variant hits India and Fiji, even India is alerting her population in the 22 official languages the people speak, and in more than 19,500 dialects across the country. BUT in Fiji, the FFP government has reverted to Official (Sudh) Hindi rather than FIJI HINDI which the vast majority of Indo-Fijians undertand. The official Covid statements could be in Fiji Hindi and in Latin alphabet as well, just like the native Fijian language is based on the Bauan dialect. David Cargill (1809-1843), a Scottish missionary and pioneer in the study of the Fijian Language, devised a way of writing Fijian with the Latin alphabet based on the Ba'u (Bauan) dialect. He came up with several spelling systems, noted the reactions of the Fijians to them and abandoned the ones that didn't work. At first he represented sounds like /mb/ and /nd/ with two letters: mb and nd, but the Fijians read these as two separate sounds. Eventually he hit upon a spelling system that made sense to the Fijians and which has been in use ever since.

Bainimarama MUST convene an independent Medical Board to certify whether or not Aiyaz Khaiyum is physically and mentally fit and competent to resume his Ministerial duties and functions. This is particularly so because his medical treatment in Singapore was privately arranged as he claimed in a previous media release, and that he was meeting all expenses personally.
Bainimarama and and his FijiFirst government  must learn from its recent failure and negligence to make an acting appointment prior to Khaiyum's departure overseas for medical treatment, hence in the interest of good governance, transparency and accountability, a Medical Board should be properly constituted to clear Khaiyum's fitness and competence to resume official duties. No Indian doctors to certify his FITNESS.

People will not be allowed to leave the country for business trips for the time being. This is after concerns were raised that the person who the soldier got COVID-19 from had recently returned from a business trip from India. When questioned if Fiji will limit business trips or not, the Permanent Secretary for Health Dr James Fong has confirmed that at the moment people will only be allowed to travel for medical reasons. Dr Fong says there are some outgoing flights that are granted on a case by case basis especially those who are going for medical treatment. He has also confirmed that they have put some countries such as India on red zone. Dr Fong says the only people they are not refusing are Fijians who are returning however they are currently being affected because the Ministry is reducing the number of flights coming in due to the outbreak.
