NARUBE TO ROTARIANS: This FFP Government has squandered over $12billion since 2007. Therefore, the Minister should urgently focus, not so much on taxes, but on expenditure reforms. Poverty THREAT to Peace

19/4/2022

The Leader of Unity Fiji, Savenaca Narube, said that Fiji was suffering from deep structural issues that were already here before the COVID-19 struck Fiji. The former Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji was addressing the Suva Rotary Club at the Grand Pacific Hotel last Thursday.

Narube explained that these structural problem
s included rising government expenditures, the low quality of that spending, the high dependency on the fragile tourism industry, and the low level of productivity, amongst others. These fundamental problems were clearly the result of wrong financial choices and poor economic leadership.

Narube stressed that over the last decade, the national budgets seriously lacked a medium to long term economic vision. Instead, the budgets provided temporary relief that would not unshackle our economic potential. For instance, the recent mini budget did not have any plan to diversify the economy. Therefore, rather than build economic buffers through reforms, the Minister continued to increase our economic vulnerability. He had not learnt a thing from the economic crisis of the pandemic.

The Leader of Unity Fiji told the Rotarians that the policy of this Government since it came into power was to borrow and spend. Fiji, with its small size and limited natural endowments, could not afford this irresponsible policy. The deficit of the mini budget was over 10% of GDP at a time that debt was already unsustainable. Government should have started the long and difficult process of clawing back the rate of increase in debt.

In such
a hostile climate that Fiji faced now, Narube conceded that borrowing was essential as government revenue stalled. But he clarified that the danger was that these borrowings were spent on unproductive areas. He calculated that this Government had squandered over $12 billion since 2007. Therefore, the Minister should urgently focus, not so much on taxes, but on expenditure reforms.

Narube emphasised that the biggest threat to national unity and peace was the escalating poverty. Poverty was the ultimate test of the success or failure of any government. Poverty before the pandemic was already at 32%. It would now be over 40%. Three quarters of people suffering from poverty were indigenous Fijians. Narube was disappointed that previous national budgets including the mini budget had not acknowledged this fact let alone announced a plan to reduce poverty. To many people, this was a clear sign that this Government had failed and lacked the economic vision to take this country forward.

THROWS IN WHITE UNDERWEAR: NFP leader Biman Prasad runs away mid interview from Radio Tarana in Auckland. He was in NZ reportedly on Critical Purpose Visa (Health) and not to gouge in Gosh Fulia fundraising

13/4/2022

*How did Prasad get into New Zealand?
Due to very strict Covid travel restrictions, one can only travel to New Zealand if the person is:
* a New Zealand Citizen
* Has a New Zealand Resident Visa or *Holds a Critical Purpose Visa.
* Although his son and his daughter-in-law live in Auckland, family members of temporary visa holders will be able to enter New Zealand only from 11.59pm on 1 May 2022.
* If one is an Australian citizen or permanent resident, that person can enter New Zealand from 11.59pm on Tuesday 12 April 2022.
Does Prasad hold dual Fijian and Australian citizenship? Or does he
hold Permanent Residency in Australia? He arrived in Auckland on
12 April 2022
* He was in New Zealand campaigning on behalf of NFP-PAAP
*We notice that NFP chucked out and blocked a Fijileaks supporter from its Facebook page for raising the above questions

* Fijileaks: Fiji Hospitals Not FIT for Political Leaders?
* We wonder if Prasad broke Fiji election campaign rules by taking part in fund-raising dinner, radio interviews, and speeches to Fijian residents (potential voters) in Auckland?
*Campaigning, legally, only kicks off on 26 April in Fiji and abroad
* Did he also infringe NZ visa regulations by participating in fund-raising dinner and granting radio interviews when he was only allowed to enter New Zealand reportedly for pre-booked medical examination?
*Or did he use his son, who lives in New Zealand, as an excuse to sneak into Auckland to campaign and indulge in Gosh Fulia? After all, New Zealand has the best succulent LAMB CHOPS in the world.
* Since Covid, New Zealand only allows entry to citizens, those with permanent residency and Fijians needing medical assistance
* RUNAWAY Leaders: Rabuka ran away from SODELPA and Parliament. Now, his 'Deputy Prime Minister' runs away from a radio interview.
He refused to disclose when NFP will bring out its Manifesto, and like
a spoiled student, the Ponga Professor stormed out of the radio studio
*Bloody good riddance
*He was once again speaking in his bullsh*t posh Indian Hindi, throwing in a few English words but refusing to SPEAK in our coolie mother tongue - FIJI HINDI. No wonder he has become hostage to the coupist and racist Rabuka, from whom he was hiding during the 1987 Coups. He kept reminding his listeners about the Rabuka-Reddy 1997 Constitution

*Anyway, his interviews were in Sudh Hindi, ashamed to speak Fiji Hindi.

Like in Fiji, Prasad was talking as if he was talking to India Indians
“You are talking like FBC now. You are not listening to me so how can I say. I am telling you the situation and later on I will tell my plan”.
Prasad refused to move beyond his version of Fiji’s problems.
"Whatever sector you talk about the situation is bad. This has happened under the Bainimarama and FijiFirst government. We will go into the Government with three key points. We will tell the people how we will improve the economic situation”.
When the Radio Tarana interviewer Pawan Rekha Prasad insisted on what NFP’s solutions were – Professor Biman had had enough.
“I am stopping the interview with you because you are talking nonsense. You can keep the interview to yourself.”

Picture
Picture
National Federation Party Leader, Professor Biman Prasad walked out of an interview on Radio Tarana in Auckland after he said that he was harassed and unfairly treated in the interview.

When the presenter had asked Professor Prasad to explain changes that he plans to bring in through policies, the NFP Leader said economy, health and education and any other sector in Fiji are not doing well.

Prasad said that this is under the Bainimarama and FijiFirst led government over the last 15 years.

The NFP Leader then said that they will tell the people before the elections what they will do when they form government.

Prasad said they will focus on good governance and true democracy and Fiji’s regional and international reputation but the details will be revealed later.

When asked on the solutions to fix the economy, Professor Biman Prasad told the Radio Tarana presenter to tell the people about the current situation in Fiji.

When asked on what is the solution, Prasad again said the presenter has to explain what is the situation.

Prasad said before COVID-19, there was negative economic growth for Fiji and COVID took the economy further down. He said countries like New Zealand and Australia came forward to provide budget support.

When asked what is his plan, Prasad told the presenter she was not listening to him.

He then said he will talk about the situation and then give the plan.

When the presenter asked again what is his plan for those people who want to vote for him, Prasad said the campaign has not started as yet.

Professor Prasad then said the Radio Tarana presenter should ask him questions respectfully or he will end the interview.

When the presenter asked what is in the NFP manifesto and when will it come out, Prasad said the presenter had first said that the election is yet to be held and the manifestos are yet to done.

He asked whether any other party has come out with the manifesto and then walked out of the interview, saying he is ending the interview and the presenter is talking nonsense.

When questioned by fijivillage on why he walked out of the interview, Professor Prasad claims it was a plan to discredit him.

LOST IN EXPRESSION: Aiyaz Khaiyum trumps Biman Prasad in FBC's Aaina debate - reinforces why "Fiji Hindi" must be the language of political discourse. Prasad's decision to speak in "Indian Hindi" leaves many scrambling for Hindi Dictionary

Picture
FROM THE ARCHIVES: VICTOR LAL writing in the Fiji Sun during the 2006 general election campaign:

Fiji Hindi baat bolo, Indo-Fijian politicians!

You are not contesting election to Indian Parliament

By VICTOR LAL

ONE of the most ridiculous and nauseating features of the election campaign is the language usage of Indo-Fijian candidates on the election trail: a pseudo pompous and counterfeit Hindi, as if they are contesting for power in India and not in Fiji.

Several potential voters wrote to me complaining that instead of speaking in the everyday Fiji Hindi to them, the candidates have been making speeches in Shudh (Standard/Correct) Hindi, a language a vast majority of the Indo-Fijian voters hardly understand.

A similar spectacle has been displayed during Question Time and Talk Back programmes on Fiji TV. I decided to watch the appearance of Lekh Ram Vayeshnoi of the Fiji Labour Party, Bimal Prasad of the National Federation Party, Shiu Ram of COIN Party and Dildar Shah of the National Alliance Party on these two programmes.

Again, a pathetic reoccurring pattern, as if Vayeshnoi, who is contesting the Nadroga Indian Communal seat, was reading a script out of the Hindu holy book, the Bhagavad Gita. When, all he was trying to do, was to explain his party’s manifesto (for which there is no Fiji Hindi word).

The other three were equally guilty, and at times I felt sorry for Shiu Ram, who even resorted to English to make his point, instead of opting to speak the language of the Indo-Fijian masses, and over 30 per cent of taukei Fijians – Fiji Hindi.

What is wrong with speaking Fiji Hindi? Are they ashamed of the language of their coolie forefathers? Why are these Indo-Fijian candidates contesting the Indian communal seats when they are by commission or omission, speaking to the voters in the language of ‘Mother India’.

For God’s sake, even Indian candidates, despite belonging to different political parties, speak in the 700 different dialects and languages to their prospective voters in India. A regional aspiring candidate in Madras will be speaking in Madrassi, and even the Communist candidate in Bengal will be pouting his Maoist and Stalinist propaganda in Bengali. The Italian-born Mrs Sonia Gandhi, the leader of the Congress Party, also speaks in a Hindi language which is understood by the vast majority of the voters.

More importantly, the candidates in Bihar would be speaking in Bhojpuri or Awadhi, from which the corrupt version of Fiji Hindi has originated in our country. So why can not our own aspiring Indo-Fijian politicians speak the language of their people?.

As Nemani Bainivalu, a University of the South Pacific Hindi graduate, and later a cultural assistant with the National Reconciliation Unit, had once pointed out, only 20 percent of Indo-Fijians can read and write their formal language.

Many Indo-Fijians cannot even read their holy books written in the Khadee Bolee dialect, and pass on religious teachings by word. I am not suggesting that Sudh Hindi be replaced in our education system, or that everyone should be writing novels like Dauka Puran by Professor Subramani of the Department of Literature and Language at the USP.

What I am protesting against is the gibberish Shudh Hindi that is being shoved down the throats of Indo-Fijian voters who are struggling to ‘swallow’ the words. The election message and manifestoes of the political parties would be better understood if the Indo-Fijian candidates resorted to the conversational Fiji Hindi at the hustings. It will also help bring the taukei Fijians into the campaign, especially the 30 per cent who speak the language, and many others who have a smattering command of it.

It must be made very clear to Indo-Fijian candidates that despite the teaching of Shudh Hindi and Urdu in schools, Fiji Hindi is an integral part of the identity and culture of the Indo-Fijian population. It is unique to Indo-Fijians in the world. The day Indo-Fijian politicians kill Fiji Hindi, they will be killing a part of their history and heritage in Fiji.

For no matter where one goes in the world, the moment one hears an Indo-Fijian open his mouth, one immediately asks him: ‘What part of Fiji are you from?’ In a similar vein, India Indians are able to separate us from them solely on the basis of our Fiji Hindi.

If the Indo-Fijian politicians and aspiring candidates are too ashamed to speak to us in the language of our coolie forefathers, they should pack their bags and their manifestoes and take the next Air India flight to India, and wait there for the next general election in that country to practice their Shudh Hindi. We don’t need Indian political impostors in Fiji.

Such candidates and Indo-Fijian leaders do not deserve our sympathy or votes.

Long live FIJI HINDI.

NO White Underwear Surrender to Rabuka and Prasad: UNITY FIJI fights back and declares that the PARTY will contest the elections on its OWN

9/4/2022

“The strong support from across the nation indicated that Unity Fiji has shed its “small” brand that were used by some political parties to discourage voters from voting for Unity Fiji in 2018. For their own convenience, some people still point to the 2018 election results for Unity Fiji. I would like to tell these people that for Unity Fiji, this election will never be like 2018. We can physically sense the momentum of this growing support. More people are now aware of Unity Fiji. They now know who we are and what we stand for. They recognise our strengths and proven ability to take Fiji out of the current mess that we are facing. The great turnout at the AGM has clearly signaled that Unity Fiji has now taken its seat at the table of leadership in Fiji. Therefore, Unity Fiji will contest the 2022 elections on our own. We firmly believe that, with our growing support, we will take our seat at the leadership table in Fiji."
Unity Party leader Savenaca Narube

Fijileaks on PAP-NFP Honeymoon on the Rocks: After recent marriage between PAP-NAG (Snake) party leaders, a major rift is beginning to emerge regarding Indo-Fijian voters. Indo-Fijians who joined PAP to contest the election, are demanding to know who RABUKA will campaign for, and call on Indo-Fijians to vote for? Will he campaign for Biman Prasad or for his own Indo-Fijian candidates? For example, if the Labasa businessman Charan Jeath Singh who has crossed from NFP to PAP has any chance at the poll, Rabuka must woo away NFP Indo-Fijian voters to Singh. Similarly, tension is mounting regarding i-Taukei voters. What is the MOU on targetting of voters? Will Prasad (re i-Taukei candidates) and Rabuka (re Indo-Fijian candidates) sacrifice their ethnic candidates? An unforgivable PAAP because of the hasty marriage the two entered into without a proper vote game plan. Rabuka has a history of betrayal. If he decides (aware of the horrible rape, violence, torture, and disenfranchisement he inflicted on the Indo-Fijians) that it would be best for Prasad to woo Indo-Fijian voters, then the Labasa businessman Charan Jeath Singh might only be able to garner 150 votes, mostly from his staff and family members, and banished into the political wilderness

The Leader of Unity Fiji and former Governor of the Reserve Bank of Fiji said that Unity Fiji will fight the 2022 elections on its own.

Mr. Narube confirmed that this was the clear message from the party’s Annual General Meeting on Thursday in Suva. More than 400 delegates were at the AGM, with some coming as far away as Vanua Levu.

“The strong support from across the nation indicated that Unity Fiji has shed its “small” brand that were used by some political parties to discourage voters from voting for Unity Fiji in 2018,” said Savenaca Narube.

The Leader of Unity Fiji
added, “For their own convenience, some people still point to the 2018 election results for Unity Fiji. I would like to tell these people that for Unity Fiji, this election will never be like 2018. We can physically sense the momentum of this growing support.”

“More people are now aware of Unity Fiji. They now know who we are and what we stand for. They recognise our strengths and proven ability to take Fiji out of the current mess that we are facing. The great turnout at the AGM has clearly signaled that Unity Fiji has now taken its seat at the table of leadership in Fiji,” said the Leader of Unity Fiji.

Mr. Narube explained to the AGM that he had tried his very best to unite all opposition parties.
He had talked to all opposition leaders on many occasions after the 2018 elections. “I was the only Leader that was trying to unite us. In the interest of the country, I lament the fact that I was not successful. I respect the decisions of the Leaders of political parties not to join a coalition before the elections. But in my view, our combined position would have been much stronger had we joined forces.”

The
Unity Fiji’s AGM reverberated loudly and clearly with three messages. The first was that the people wanted change but to something better than what we have now. The second was that Unity Fiji has the leadership and experience to take Fiji to where we should be. The third was that Unity Fiji had tried its best to unite opposition parties, and with the elections around the corner, it was now time to move on.

“Therefore, Unity Fiji will contest the
2022 elections on our own. We firmly believe that, with our growing support, we will take our seat at the leadership table in Fiji.”

UP YOURS: Will Rabuka give two fingers to his Indo-Fijian candidates in exchange for Prasad sacrificing his i-Taukei NFP candidates. For under the d'Hondht electoral system, both need all the votes to WIN?

WHITE UNDERWEAR SURRENDER: The failed NFP-SVT 1999 candidate and current leader BIMAN PRASAD already surrenders to PAAP PARTY in exchange to become COOLIE Deputy Prime Minister to Sitiveni Rabuka

5/4/2022

JAI RAM TO INDO-FIJIANS FROM NFP:
*As Jai Ram Reddy told you in 1999: 'Fiji is NOT Ready for
an Indo-Fijian Prime Minister',
except for Coupist Rabuka. Just like Biman Prasad, Reddy had made a 360-degree U-Turn from his proclamation in 1994 on Sitiveni Rabuka
*In the 1999 election, FLP leader Mahendra Chaudhry, at the last mass rally in Suva, played a tape recording of Reddy's declaration during the 1994 elections that he (Reddy) would 'never endorse Rabuka for prime minister because of the suffering caused by his coups'.
*Another leading FLP candidate Dr Tupeni Baba, before an Indo-Fijian audience, derided Reddy for trying to lead them to Rabuka's SVT just as i-Taukei Fijians were deserting it in droves.
*When the final results were announced, Reddy, Biman Prasad, Wadan Narsey, Sitiveni Rabuka and other SVT-NFP candidates were comprehensively defeated under the very 1997 Rabuka-Reddy Constitution of Fiji

SICKENING OBSESSION WITH RABUKA: Fijileaks had strongly defended Prasad, his wife and the NFP over the years. Last year, our Founding Editor advised Prasad to select about 30 i-Taukei Fijian candidates (men and women) of good character, Other minorities, and Indo-Fijians not tainted with coups and the coupists Rabuka and Bainimarama but that NFP leadership should be handed to Lenora Qereqeretabua. It was time for a woman to lead the NFP
*We informed him that
NFP was well placed to sell itself to the voters as an alternative government of all parties and a multi-ethnic set of candidates. He agreed but all along he was secretly in bed with Sitiveni Rabuka and now, with appalling arrogance, says he will be Deputy Prime Minister to a man who on 14 May 1987, one hundred and eight years to the day when their coolie ancestors were introduced into Fiji and marched from plantation to parliament, proclaimed to the world after the 1987 racist coup:

WIPING OFF BAD GOVERNANCE RECORD OF COUPIST RABUKA is worse than PREACHING about GOOD GOVERNANCE at the NFP-PAP 'Wedding'. From 1987-1999, for Rabuka 'Good Governance' didn't exist

LIONIZING A COUPIST who is hiding behind the self-granted
IMMUNITY for Treason, Rape, Murder, Dispossession, Expulsion and Disenfranchisement of One Half of Fiji's population is NOT Good for
the Rule of Law. It is stomach-churning to be told by one speaker after another from the NFP that Sitiveni Rabuka is "our coalition man" because Rabuka-Reddy gave us the 1997 Constitution. But as the late Sir Vijay Singh reminded us, the Coupist and Racist Thug only returned to us what he had stolen at the point of a gun - the 1970 Constitution of Fiji. There seem to be two different laws - one for us and another for Rabuka

SITIVENI RABUKA: Fiji RacistPutin's Catalogue of Crimes
Recently, both SHAMIMA ALI and SASHI KIRAN (touted as prospective NFP candidates and coalition partners with PAAPI party) have revealed that in 1987 several Indo-Fijian women informed them of rapes at the hands of Rabuka's racist hoodlums. One of the Indo-Fijian victims was 75 years old and was raped in her own home, in front of her family. *Today, Biman Prasad is shaking hands with Rabuka, shamelessly informing us that he will be Deputy Prime Minister in Coupist Sitiveni Rabuka's new government after the election.
*The NFP Vice-President LENORA QEREQERETABUA wanted Aiyaz Khaiyum to inform Parliament of the policy that permits a serving prison inmate RAPIST to participate in a national 7s tournament.
*We wonder why she did not ask her leader Biman Prasad to explain why the leader of the rapist mob from 1987 was invited to address the NFP Convention, and why her party has gone into a loose coalition with PAAP to fight the election? RAPE is one of the most paap to be committed against women and girls

* In November 1987, Rabuka initiated a mass breakout from Naboro Prison. Escapees, including violent and dangerous rapists among them, were allowed by Rabuka's military to march to Government House with various demands, including pardons.
* Many went on to rape Indo-Fijian women, under Biman Prasad's political darling Rabuka's WARDENSHIP.
* Rabuka's RAPISTS chose Indo-Fijian women at random and against their wills, either breaking and raping them inside their sacred homes, or dragging them away, and raping them in bushes all over Fiji.
* For Rabuka told his i-Taukei, Fiji belonged to them, and Indo-Fijian women were chattels, pagans, filthy strangers in Viti.
* Some of the escaped prisoners even ended up sodomizing Indo-Fijian men as an extra bonus.
*While his failed political coalition partner JAI RAM REDDY went on to prosecute Rwandans for rape and murder, Rabuka and his Rapists were (and still are) roaming around Fiji. Now, PAP-NFP Pact in 2022
*For too long NFP has shielded Sitiveni Rabuka for his Racial CRIMES.
In their estimation, he is not the dreaded RAVANA but RAMA for their political fortunes at the election against FFP rests on Rabuka's PAAP

TILL CHANGE OF COALITION LAWS WE DO REMAIN APART! Marriage Registrar: 'I can't marry you unless you two have been cohabiting'. That is what Khaiyum's COALITION Decree mean. Bloody UNDEMOCRATIC!

2/4/2022

* Under the electoral laws, a party cannot form a coalition before the election, only after it. The parties would have to merge and become one party to take on the FFP
* Another scandalous electoral decree that has been enacted is for all political parties to provide how they will fund their electoral promises.
* AUSTRALIA should NOT have provided the so-called BUDGET SUPPORT of $190million to FFP in the election year for Aiyaz Khaiyum to dish out election freebies. Voters would have risen up against him.
* Its amoral and scandalous for any incumbent government of the day to demand that Opposition parties must provide a breakdown of how they will fund their election promises but the Government can saddle the nation with a $10billion debt and borrow more from international agencies. It's like the Opposition going to a bank manager only in their underwear as security. How can they justify election promise costs?
*We had a similar spectacle in the 1997 Constitution where Sitiveni Rabuka and Jai Ram Reddy had made power-sharing MANDATORY if parties crossed the 5 per cent threshold. It led to the downfall of Chaudhry's People's Coalition government with disparate coalition parties speaking in different tongues.
He won landslide mandate but formed the government on bent knees under the 1997 Constitution which required mandatory power-sharing after a general election

* Isa, talking of MARRIAGE, did you notice NFP's Dulainiya (Bride) cloyingly looking into his newfound BRIDEGROOM, Sitiveni Rabuka. We will analyze these two's distorted history about the 1999 elections.
* Soon, we will demand an explanation from BIMAN PRASAD whether he was aware, as FRCA Board Member, of serious fraud and tax charges against PAAPI's national treasurer JOSEVA LEANO, who was sacked in September 2007 from FRCA after he was found guilty of all the charges
There is something really ROTTEN in Fiji

Picture

Fijileaks: Indo-Fijians should be very wary of Prasad consorting with Father of the Coups, who is hiding behind IMMUNITY. We owe it to the memory of those INDO-FIJIANS who were RAPED, MURDERED, DISENFRANCHISED and DEPORTED that Prasad is not in a position to make Rabuka the Prime Minister of Fiji, again, with Prasad as his Deputy Prime Minister. Once again, this bloody rascal is agreeing that Indo-Fijians must remain, second class citizens, for, to quote former NFP leader Jai Ram Reddy:
'Fiji is NOT ready for an Indo-Fijian Prime Minister'. Its quite clear they don't want an Indo-Fijian Muslim Prime Minister.
GOVERNANCE: We didn't hear about Sitiveni Rabuka's governance record from 1987 to 1999 when both, Rabuka and Reddy, were booted out in the 1999 general election

Picture

A COALITION OF TWO HEARTS?: You must have been living together before marriage and under a common name. That is what the scandalous coalition decree means in practice. Under the electoral laws, a party cannot form a coalition before the election, only after it. The parties would have to merge and become one party to take on the FFP. But Aiyaz Khaiyum has got his political cake and is eating it. The election will be held under authoritarian decrees, and Australia and New Zealand are complicit with their Budget Supports and funding to Elections Office

People's Alliance Party, LAUGHABLE: We were shocked that the top brass leading the party - President, Vice-President, Assistant Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer and Party Leader are ALL I-Taukei Fijians.
* Of course, Rabuka will try and get many Indo-Fijian candidates as possible to stand for PAAP, who now believe that the only route to Parliament under the D'Hondt Electoral System is to hitch a ride inside Rabuka's sulu.
* These Indo-Fijian PAP candidates, the likes of Labasa businessman Charan Jeat Singh who resigned from NFP because of Prasad's leadership, could inflict havoc on NFP's Indo-Fijian votes.
*As for NFP i-Taukei Fijian candidates, Prasad by making an alliance with Rabuka, is taking them to the political slaughterhouse to be LAMB CHOPPED

Now that he is the elected prime minister [Frank Bainimarama] and now that we are in Parliament, we have offered since 2014. I personally offered to the honourable prime minister, on many occasions, my and our party’s willingness to work with him.” Biman Prasad, 20 September 2020

Fijileaks: Aare, Bloody 'Political Chamar' what else Paap Party represents?
He was not saved by the Grace of God. He was forced into submission by the Grace of The Guns of Lautoka and The Bombs of Suva, and by Pressure from the International Community and the In-Fighting Among His i-Taukei Backers forced him to change the racist 1990 Constitution and replace it with the 1997 Constitution, in the hope the SVT-NFP Coalition could form government in 1999.

It is highly probable that a vast majority of Fijian i-Taukei NFP voters will drift towards the demagogue Rabuka, mistakenly believing he is Saviour. How will NFP leaders tell its i-Taukei Voters to vote for its i-Taukei candidates otherwise these candidates will fail to cross the 5% threshold, for Rabuka to win, he will have to steal as many I-Taukei votes as possible?
As for the 'Political Chamar', he will rue his decision for being seen in bed with Paapi Party, and will be wiping tears of loss with his apron
