Fijileaks: Fiji Law Society President William Wylie Clark is yet to respond to questions from us as to why the Law Society has not spoken out on the 1987 bombing allegations and the call for Khaiyum to RESIGN

Aris Sumarsono was listed on 16 May 2005 pursuant to paragraphs of 1 and 16 of UN Resolution 1526 (2004) as being associated with Al-Qaida, Usama bin Laden or the Taliban for “participating in the financing, planning, facilitating, preparing or perpetrating of acts or activities by, in conjunction with, under the name of, on behalf, or in support of” Jemaah Islamiyah - UNITED NATIONS SECURITY COUNCIL

  • The biologist was arrested in a raid at a house in East Lampung district on Sumatra island. Since May 2005, Zulkarnaen has been listed on an al-Qaeda sanctions list by the UN Security Council for being associated with Osama bin Laden or the Taliban. The Security Council said that Zulkarnaen was one of al-Qaeda’s representatives in Southeast Asia and one of the few people in Indonesia who had direct contact with bin Laden’s network. It said that Zulkarnaen led a squad of fighters known as the Laskar Khos, or Special Force, whose members were recruited from among some 300 Indonesians who trained in Afghanistan and the Philippines

In accordance with paragraph 13 of resolution 1822 (2008) and subsequent related resolutions, the ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee makes accessible a narrative summary of reasons for the listing for individuals, groups, undertakings and entities included in the ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List.

Date on which the narrative summary became available on the Committee's website: 26 August 2009Date(s) on which the narrative summary was updated: 17 April 2019

Reason for listing: Aris Sumarsono was listed on 16 May 2005 pursuant to paragraphs of 1 and 16 of Resolution 1526 (2004) as being associated with Al-Qaida, Usama bin Laden or the Taliban for “participating in the financing, planning, facilitating, preparing or perpetrating of acts or activities by, in conjunction with, under the name of, on behalf, or in support of” Jemaah Islamiyah (QDe.092).

Additional information: Aris Sumarsono (a.k.a. Zulkarnaen) has been a key member of Jemaah Islamiyah’s (JI) (QDe.092) central command and the head of its military section. Zulkarnaen became operations chief for Jemaah Islamiyah after the arrest of his predecessor, Nurjaman Riduan Isamuddin (QDi.087), also known as Hambali, in Thailand in August 2003. As military commander, Zulkarnaen has been responsible for intelligence operations and military training, and authorized to launch terrorist attacks.

Zulkarnaen earned a degree in biology from an Indonesian university and was among the first Indonesian militants to go to Afghanistan for training. He became an expert in sabotage in the 1980s, when he was appointed the head of Camp Saddah, a military academy established for fighters from Southeast Asia. Zulkarnaen spent a decade at the camp training other JI members.

Zulkarnaen headed the operations section of JI, which helped carry out the suicide bombing at Jakarta’s Marriott Hotel that killed 12 people in 2003 and helped to prepare the bombs that killed 202 people in Bali in 2002.

Zulkarnaen was one of Al-Qaida’s (QDe.004) representatives in Southeast Asia and one of the few people in Indonesia who had had direct contact with Usama bin Laden’s (deceased) network. Zulkarnaen has led a squad of fighters known as the Laskar Khos, or “special force,” whose members were recruited from some 300 Indonesians who trained in Afghanistan and the Philippines.

Zulkarnaen was a protégé of the late Abdullah Sungkar, founder of both Jemaah Islamiyah and the boarding school, Al-Mukmin, where Zulkarnaen and other group leaders studied. Before Sungkar’s death in 1999, Zulkarnaen was often seen by his mentor’s side, helping to organize conferences and arrange the agenda of the elder leader.

WHITEWASHING AIYAZ SAYED KHAIYUM: Oscar for the Most Misleading Front Page for 2020 goes to The Fiji Sun. This week the paper published 1987 Bomb Immunity List without mentioning name of principal suspect

Fijileaks to Shalveen Chand, Fiji Sun:
"1987 Bomb Front Page Story. Bula Shalveen. What were you trying to tell the readers. As it stands, it made no sense at all. I suggest you go to Aiyaz and ask him if its true that HE was the mastermind who made those bombs. The coward fled to Australia on the same day some on the Immunity list appeared in court. The story should be about this dogla who fled to Australia. His second in command FAYAAZ DEAN KHAN fled to Canada and is now living in Australia. Those on the Immunity list served their time. Moce"
Fijileaks:
We call on Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum to RESIGN for Police to carry out their investigation without any interference from him or even from Bainimarama. We know, as Graham Davis keeps reminding us, that Khaiyum writes and directs stories published in the Fiji Sun.
* KHAIYUM is NOT on the Immunity List because he fled Fiji. Remember that poor 'The Old Lady of Bakshi Street' - the coward left all his junior lieutenants and the poor old lady to face the music. Sadly, when the 'old lady' was cremated in October, he was the only one from the 1987 gang still living in Fiji who was missing at the funeral service. WHY?
* Fiji Police should ask PITA DRITI about the 1987 bombings. He was, as second lieutenant, head of the joint command centre. Khaiyum gave him the slip after he was tipped off that Police-Army were about to raid his Bakshi Street residence. (
Pita Driti: "I was a Lieutenant and I was not in command, but was one of the duty officers of the Joint Command Center in Totogo Police Station during that period")
*This week Frank Bainimarama was going on and on about George Speight. At least, Speight is serving for his crime. And, it was our Editor-in-Chief on whose legal opinion Speight was re-arrested after Bainimarama had signed the Muanikau Accord.
*Both, Bainimarama and Khaiyum, have used parliamentary privilege to expose individuals associated with the 2000 Speight Coup. We want JUSTICE and TRUTH about the 1987 Bombings. God only knows what would have been the fate of those who were thrown into Naboro had they not got the IMMUNITY.
*They might have spent years behind bars while Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum was dancing in Australia to be an actor.
* One that was killed and two others that were injured when their bomb exploded in their car, might have still been alive today. But they gave their lives for a cause that Khaiyum had convinced them was worth undertaking in 1987. Although they were staunch Hindus, they even shared beef curry at his place, before that fateful day
*It was disgusting to see Khaiyum and Bainimarama hugging and shaking hands with the DEVIL who started it all - RABUKA.
* The Fiji Sun should to ask KHAIYUM:
Were you the lead ACTOR in the 1987 Bombings?
* The paper, after we give them the name of one of their very own top executive, should also ask HIM what role HE played in the bombings.
*The Fiji Sun published the Immunity List on Khaiyum's behest to humiliate those on it, to deflect attention away from him (even putting their lives in danger) and for Khaiyum to say to Bainimarama,
'Look, Frank, I had nothing to do with the bombings'. There is no mention of Aiyaz Khaiyum or that he is accused of the 1987 bombings in the
Fiji Sun story regarding the Immunity List
* So, we have come forward, to put things into perspective. We will name others - both his inner and outer cells - if he refuses to step down. He rewarded two with TOP diplomatic postings. It is really SICKENING that he is using Fiji Sun to expose those on the Immunity List while hiding behind Bainimarama's sulu as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice in the FFP Government
Again, AIYAZ SAYED KHAIYUM MUST STEP DOWN
For too long he has held Fijians by their throats, supported by the Guns, and the pliant Fiji Sun, whose one very own was Khaiyum's foot soldier. The only reason Aiyaz Khaiyum is not stepping down is because he is sh*t scared that some on the Immunity List might break silence and testify about his master role in the 1987 bombings. STEP DOWN

During the 2000 coup crisis, Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum was at the University of Hong Kong, writing his thesis under Professor Yash Ghai. Just look what he did to his own Supervisor, setting fire to the Ghai Constitution and chasing Professor Yash Ghai OUT OF FIJI.

NATIONAL FEDERATION PARTY MUST STOP DANGLING FROM MANGO TREE. IT MUST SPEAK OUT
There is widespread fear inside the party that many Indo-Fijians might miscontrue it as support for Rabuka's 1987 coups, for Indo-Fijians regard Aiyaz Khaiyum as a HERO of 1987. If he was the alleged MASTERMIND, he is no HERO but a TRAITOR who fled to AUSTRALIA
in 1987, leaving his alleged accomplices to rot in prison until the 1988 Immunity Decree

FOR someone who masterminded and single-handedly devised homemade bombs with the aim of blowing up several public buildings in Suva at the height of the 1987 coup, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has done well for himself.

Really, from a home-grown terrorist to acting Prime Minister of Fiji this month, Khaiyum has achieved what many can only dream of.

When then Lieutenant-Colonel Sitiveni Rabuka walked into Fiji’s old parliament chamber at 10am on May 14, 1987 to hold Prime Minister Dr Timoci Bavadra and his cabinet ministers hostage, Khaiyum was poised for a promising career in television.

He was then a trainee television producer, with Carol Jalal at the Kerry Packer Channel Nine-owned Television Fiji office on Gordon Street.

The guy, son of a National Federation Party politician was full of hope. After training in Australia in acting and drama, a career in television had just opened up. The sky, it seemed, would be the limit for this young man.

Alas, fate had something else in store for him when Rabuka staged his coup that fateful Friday.

Little is known about how Khaiyum learnt the trade of bomb making. But he devised them in a little shed at his family home, then located at 10 Bakshi Street, off Moti Street in Suva.

Yes, that family house was later sold and the Khaiyums moved to their new home at 40 Lovoni Road in Tamavua. You can’t miss the new house now – it’s where the police tent is erected.

And guess who is the current occupant and owner of 10 Bakshi Street? None other than Dr Neil Sharma, Bainimarama’s Health Minister.

Small world, isn’t it.

However the young Khaiyum learnt how to devise home-made explosives, he was able to produce a carton full. And in no time, bomb runners were recruited; all young educated Indo-Fijians, and all studying that year at the Laucala Campus of the University of the South Pacific.

This information is by the way all public knowledge. Just ask Esala Teleni’s latest stooge Waisea Tabakau about the 18 students of the USP who were arrested for bomb-related charges in 1987.

Or perhaps your query would be promptly answered by Bainimarama’s yes-man, Pita Driti.

As a second-lieutenant then, he was head of the joint command centre and played a big role in the arrest and assault of the 18 students.

Interestingly of the 18, only one was a young woman. She is today the sister in law of none other than the bomb-maker Khaiyum.

Of the group, only two were charged and made to appear in court. Charges ranged from being in possession of explosives and of planning to cause grievous harm through the use of such explosives.

The two men were released six months into custody after they were both granted amnesty.

What happened to the Bakshi Street terrorist?

Well, he made a dash for freedom to Australia. After recruiting and training his runners, he abandoned them when the army came snooping and fled with his tail under his legs. Showing the callous streak in him, he had removed the carton of explosives from his home and asked an old lady, a mother of a friend, to keep it for him.

To save face, Khaiyum returned some months later and got the honour of being arrested during the first anniversary of Rabuka’s coup on May 14, 1988.

He had joined the real champions of democracy when they staged a silent protest at Sukuna Park that day, and all ended up at the Central Police Station.

So from a home-grown terrorist to acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has come full circle. Or has he? – fiji uncensored

THE OLD LADY OF BAKSHI STREET

Mrs Shankar - 97 years old - died peacefully at her Flagstaff home in Suva on 10 October 2020, 50 years to the day her nephew Sir Vijay Singh
had negotiated our independence.
HER own dramatic role after the 1987 coups, and the UNDIGNIFIED treatment Rabuka and his racist THUGS subjected her to, is another story, for another day.
Mrs Shankar will be cremated at the Dignified Crematorium on Wednesday, 14 October at 2pm (Fiji time).
As for Sitiveni Rabuka, we say with Isaiah (48:22):
'There is no peace, says the Lord, for the evil-doers.'

RABUKA'S OPERATION KIDACALA: TREASONIST leaves Parliament as he entered in 1987, "Sit down everybody, sit down. This is a takeover..Mr Prime Minister (Dr Bavadra), please lead your team down to the right..."

7/12/2020

Fijileaks: Now, he has repeated his treacherous 'Operation Kidacala', the name he had given to his secret 1987 Coup, on his own MPs and his SODELPA party. He stood up in Parliament, and in the middle of his speech, announced that he was quitting Parliament. What kind of a leader does that - not giving the party he was still the parliamentary leader of - time for an orderly transition. He rained shame upon the party (except upon himself), throwing the party into confusion and chaos. Now, Tanya Waqanika, who will replace him through the absurd D'Hondt Electoral System, has to re-organize her own life to enter Parliament. In a normal democracy, there would have been a by-election to replace Rabuka, giving defeated candidates from other parties a chance to run for Parliament. If we had a by-election, who knows even FLP leader Chaudhry might have won, although we would not have endorsed him. In fact, two seats would have been up for grabs, for FFP MP Virendra Prakash, charged over travel allowance has also resigned, or was asked by Aiyaz Khaiyum to resign. Prakash was a NFP candidate in the 1999 and 2006 elections. His replacement will be VIRENDRA LAL, who garnered only 519 votes in 2018. Like Prakash, Lal is also exectuive member of the Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha Fiji, and employed by the Fiji Broadcasting Commission. He does Hindi bhajan programs on Sundays. Now, singing his way into Parliament on the FFP ticket with 519 votes. The absurdity of the D'Hondt System is on full display - a party has to poll over 5 per cent of national votes to enter Parliament but a candidate with 519 votes can just drop everything and walk in for his or her party has made it into Parliament. As we wrote some years ago, 'Oh God, Which MP Is Next to DIE'. Fiji is not the way the world should be. It is an electoral dictatorship because of D'Hondt System

ON RABUKA: There is no need to be surprised nor to heap praise on this treasonist racist of a man. It seems the former third-ranking soldier cum snake has never shred the cunning, conniving, traitrous trait he deployed in 1987. First, he took his then commander and now Speaker, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, by surprise when he executed the coup. He had walked into Parliament in plain clothes, took a seat in the Visitor's Gallery, and waited for the Government Building clock to chime at 10, when his balaclava and gas-masked soldiers stormed parliament and took over the Bavadra Government. Worse, he had planned it to coincide on 14 May 1987, 108 years to the day when the first batch of Indian indentured labourers were introduced into Fiji to toil on the sugar, tea, and other plantations.

COVID HUG BY TWO COUPISTS

Picture
BEAR HUGS: Rabuka and Bainimarama

He famously declared to the world that 'Indians will never rule Fiji again', and the rest is history. Now, he has repeated his treacherous 'Operation Kidacala', the name he had given to his secret 1987 Coup, on his own MPs and his SODELPA party. He stood up in Parliament, and in the middle of his speech, announced that he was quitting Parliament. What kind of a leader does that - not giving the party he was still the parliamentary leader of - time for an orderly transition. He threw them into confusion and chaos. As far as we are concerned, he has inflicted the same chaos on SODELPA as he had  inflicted on Fiji in 1987. Frank Bainimarama, his junior, was drafted from the navy to enforce Rabuka's orders in 1987. As for Rabuka, SODEPLA should say to party traitor:

BLOODY GOOD RIDDANCE TO THE JETSAM

Picture

Sadly, as he cuts himself loose from Parliament and drifts back into society (waiting and scheming his next Operation Kidacala), others with him from 1987 are still up there - Jioji Konrote as President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau as Speaker, and Frank Bainimarama as Prime Minister - all military men. We also wonder why Rabuka never called for Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum to setp aside over allegations that Khaiyum was the 1987 bomber in the Malani family case now with Police. He is the best person to enlighten us over the 1987 bombings. Among those he had thrown into a prison cell was Veronica Malani's father, Ratu Filimoni Ralogaivau, then Bavadra's Minister for Fijian Affairs. Rabuka later enticed him by deploying traditional channels to lure Ratu Ralogaivau to cross over and become his Interim Minister for Education, and inevitably exposing the family in harms way

"Today I have come here in order to proclaim in your presence what the Lord Jesus said to his disciples: "This is my commandment: Love one another as I have loved you".
Pope John Paul 11, November 1986, Suva

"Hindus and Muslims are pagans who need to be converted to Christianity, if not we will all become pagans like them" - Sitiveni Rabuka, 1987. Maybe, he was spoken to by his 'Methodist God' and not listened to the 'Catholic Pope's words in 1986

GOD spoke to two Fijians, one a Methodist lay preacher and another, his cousin, the secretary of the Bible Society, to carry out the 1987 Coups and consign Indo-Fijians to second class citizens in Fiji

Anyway, he should NEVER have entered Parliament in 1987 like a thief in the night, capturing and imprisoning the Bavadra Government MPs and introducing the Coup Culture - with another SNAKE still up in Parliament

Opposition Leader Sitiveni Rabuka has resigned as a Member of Parliament

Speaking in Parliament this morning, Rabuka announced that he will no longer be a Member of the House.

“I hereby Mr Speaker Sir tender my resignation as a member of this House representing the people of Fiji to make way for his Excellency the President. I ask the Prime Minister work with the new Leader of Opposition and the members of the Opposition and take us forward.”

Rabuka has highlighted that he will no longer be a barrier to the two sides of the House working together.

“I will no longer be an obstacle to the bipartisan approach to be taken by the leaders of Fiji to create harmony and progress and unity in Fiji and I with respect Mr Speaker Sir tender my resignation from Parliament thank you Sir.”

FBC News approached Rabuka outside parliament where he indicated that he remains an ordinary member of the Social Democratic Liberal Party.

“That will have to be decided I will have to hear from the Party about what’s going on. I cannot form a new party now I am still the member of the Party (SODELPA). I have resigned from the Parliament.”

SODELPA Leader and the next likely Opposition Leader, Viliame Gavoka says he is shocked by Rabuka’s announcement and has sought an explanation.

He adds that SODELPA needs a man like Rabuka.

Opposition Member of Parliament and staunch Rabuka supporter Lynda Tabuya, says she stands by the decision of the former party leader.
SODELPA MP Mosese Bulitavu also says that Rabuka has done the honorable thing. Source, FBC News
