GATEKEEPER at FEO to FICAC. Barbara Malimali accused of usurping powers of the Supervisor of Elections in matters concerning complaints against Coalition ministers, especially case of Lynda Tabuya with FICAC

*Although Barbara Malimali, chairperson of the Electoral Commission, has no vested powers, she is demanding that all pending and future complaints to the Supervisor of Elections must be vetted by her (Malimali) before the cases are forwarded to FICAC for investigation.
*We contend that the decision to refer cases to FICAC rests solely with the Supervisor of Elections Ana Mataiciwa, and not with Barbara Malimali.

*The Electoral  Commission, under the chairship of Malimali, can give directive only on voter registration and conduct of elections.
*She has no powers to interfere who can and can't be referred to FICAC for investigation.
*Malimali's continued directives on matters for FICAC investigation constitutes gross Abuse of Office.
