NFP's 'BANGRA BOY' Richard Naidu to Malimali: 'The World Bank chief Ajay Banga is making official visit to FIJI. Whatever FICAC's view, you can't charge Fiji's Finance Minister Biman Prasad in middle of this visit.'

*Naidu to Malimali: "We are mindful that this is your first day in office
(5 September 2024) and this is hardly the way you may want to begin it."

*Fijileaks: Perverting the Cause of Justice. Did Richard Naidu attempt to pervert the cause of justice when he approached Malimali to intervene and stop FICAC officers from charging Prasad on 5 September 2024?
*Barbara Malimali was hurriedly appointed on 4 September 2024.
*Malimali was herself arrested on 5 September and was facing charges arising out of her role as chair, Fiji Electoral Commission.
*However, she was whisked away after FLS president Wylie Clarke and other lawyers intervened and got her released from FICAC custody.

*FICAC's Francis Puleiwai to Rabuka
(24 September 2024, in her 'Out Brief Report'): 'Biman Prasad was facing TEN Charges'

*On 5 September 2024, while World Bank president Ajay Banga was being feted by Fiji's Finance Minister Biman Prasad and the Coalition government, we had called on Barbara Malimali to go ahead and charge Prasad with lying in his statutory declarations from 2014 to 2024.
*We were unaware that NFP stalwart and Prasad's lawyer Richard Naidu was urging Malimali NOT to charge Prasad in the middle of Banga's visit to Fiji

Richard Naidu to FICAC Commissioner Barbara Malimali
5 September 2024
Dear Barbara Malimali
"Prof Prasad was interviewed at FICAC on 12 August 2024 and 22 August 2024 in connection with alleged offences under s24 of the Political Parties Act 2013.

On 24 August I sent a letter (copy enclosed) to Mr_______(we have redacted name at this stage) in connection with the investigations....On Tuesday 3 September 2024 (Fijileaks: a day before Malimali was appointed FICAC Commissioner) FICAC executed a search warrant at NFP's head office in Tamavua, Suva, and took possession of a number of documents.

Yesterday (4 September), at 6.53pm, Mr____called me on my mobile phone. Mr_____advised that FICAC wished for Prof Prasad to attend at FICAC this afternoon for completion of his (Prasad's) caution interview. He indicated that FICAC's intention was to CHARGE (our emphasis) Prof Prasad.

I indicated to to Mr_____that Prof Prasad would not resist any reasonable process but it was NOT reasonable for him to re required to attend at FICAC on less that 24 hours notice given his responsibilities.

First, this is a Parliament sitting week. Second, Mr Ajay Banga is making an official visit to Fiji this week. This is the first ever visit to Fiji, the World Bank is one of Fiji's largest development partner, and self-evidently the official who is his key contact in Fiji is the Minister of Finance (Biman Prasad).

Whatever is FICAC's view of Prof Prasad's conduct, it is NOT in anyone's interest, least of all Fiji's, for the Minister of Finance to be CHARGED with an offence in the middle of the visit."

*BANKING ON THE RFMF:

The Military must be on standby to hand over Finance Minister BIMAN PRASAD to Fiji Police - to charge him with TEN Counts that was prepared by FICAC
*The Coalition has Weaponised FICAC through Barbara Malimali. *She must also face charges.
