THE PROOF: Aiyaz Khaiyum lied about his ASSETS declarations to the Supervisor of Elections and Ro Kepa wants action; Midlife Investments Ltd paid $100,000 to Faiyaz Koya & co for plot of land - not $80,000!
Aiyaz Khaiyum under-declared value of land by $20,000, declaring that he owned plot of land at Wailoaloa for $80,000 when it was worth $100,000
WHO OWNS MIDLIFE INVESTMENTS LTD? In Latifa Investments Ltd, Khaiyum gave his residential address as 40 Lovoni Rd, Suva; in the mortgage transfer document he lists Midlife Investments Ltd as registered at 40 Lovoni Rd, Suva; do Khaiyum family own Midlife and that is why he ordered Registrar of Companies to hide both Latifa and Midlife files from Fijileaks?
From Fijileaks Archive:
Faiyaz Koya did not allegedly disclose in his political election declaration that he is director and shareholder of MAH Enterprises (Fiji) Ltd
Khaiyum has also ordered Registrar of Companies to hide file on his family company Latifa Investments Ltd which sold his Berry Rd property in Suva to business tycoons, the Tappoos company Bright Star Investments Ltd for an inflated $810,000. Tappoos bought Khaiyum’s property at the ballooned figure in return for a deal which was revealed later in the 2010 budget. The deal was that tourists could claim back only from duty free shops owned by Tappoos, VAT on duty free items. A copy of the Land Transfer was lodged by a Suva law firm and signed by Khaiyum. It also carries the common seal or stamp of Latifa Investments. The document clearly shows that two lots owned by Latifa Investments were sold to BSI for $810,000. Khaiyum bought the property for $350,000 in 2005 and made a profit of $460,000 in three years. Tappoos had stepped in to avoid Khaiyum being declared a BANKRUPT.
From Fijileaks Archive: Did other FFP candidates also lie about assets?
The Supervisor of Elections should readily make available asset declarations of all election candidates for inspection; so far Khaiyum's nephew Saneen is hiding from Fijileaks!
"...Secrecy is the keystone of all tyranny. Not force, but secrecy... censorship. When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, 'This you may not read, this you must not see, this you are forbidden to know,' the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives." --Robert A.
