"THE road to Syria for our unsuspecting Fijian men and women started with a web of deceit and cover up that has finally led to the arrest of 45 Fijian Peacekeepers at the Golan Heights.

Our men and women in the Fiji Military Forces should demand for the truth from their Commander, Mosese Tikoitoga and former Commander Voreqe Bainimarama for the sake of the detainees and their families. It has always been known that Australia and other UN member countries were putting pressure on the UN to remove Fiji from all Peacekeeping missions.

The UN then gave an ultimatum to Fiji to go to Syria or they are removed from all missions. Bainimarama and Tikoitoga, together with the illegal Attorney General Aiyaz Saiyed Khaiyum, Fiji Diplomat to the United Arab Emirates, Robin Nair and a few other high level delegates plotted a way to work with the UN and at the same time be the eyes and ears of the Syrian Government reporting on the positions of the rebels.

Fiji has diplomatic ties with Syria. During Bainimarama's trip to Dubai, he was met by the Syrian diplomat who had offered some financial help to him in exchange for the Fiji Battalion to be in Syria and report on the Syrian Rebels position. The Syrian Rebels are what we now know to be linked to the Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Nusra Front.
This is not surprising as Bashar Hafez al-Assad, the President of Syria (and General Secretary of the Ba'ath Party) and Aiyaz Saiyad Khaiyum, Fiji's Attorney General (and General Secretary of the Fiji First Party) are both Sunni Muslims. The meeting was orchestrated by Khaiyum through the Fiji diplomat Robin Nair.

The idea was that the Fiji Battalion had the advantage being a UN force. The request was verbal but the token of appreciation given in cash was only known to Bainimarama and Tikoitoga. The senior officers selected to lead the mission were changed on the eleventh hour as they questioned the legality of the special request from Syria. They saw this as a breach of charter to the UN mission which could be seen as treason. Syria through Russia requested the Fiji Military to offer assistance to the Al Assad government in exchange of funds to purchase equipment required for the mission.

In a meeting held in Moscow attended by Bainimarama and the Commander, North Korea volunteered to supply arms but Fiji requested to be given money to purchase similar arms to what they have at Nabua because they are familiar with. Money was given by both countries but no arms or new equipments were purchased and the funds have disappeared.

Since the arrival of the Fiji Battalion, the Syrian government was able to target the rebel positions accurately and the only people who had access to accurately reveal these positions were our Fijian peacekeepers. They were warned by the Israeli Intelligence and US to stop but these warnings fell on deaf ears. They were warned that the Rebels had already suspected them to be the Syrian Government informers.

Well folks, the web of deceit and cover up have somehow now been uncovered by the Syrian Rebels, the Al-Nusra Front and Fiji is now caught in the wrong side of the field playing on the same side with the wrong players. So let's demand the TRUTH from these two Bainimarama and Tikoitoga as they are now answerable to the Rebels anger to the deal that they were a part of, OR and not forgetting  AIYAZ SAIYED KHAIYUM."

if my memory serves me correctly this Robin Nair fala was a retired public servant who had gone and settled in Australia. then after the Bainimarama coup he resurfaced in Fiji making the right kind of noises for the bainimarama military regime and lo and behold before you could say fly robin fly this opportunist wormed his way into top positions in the Bainimarama dictatorship. He is part of the Fijian dictatorship. Should anybody be surprised if he had a hand in assisting the Syrian dictatorship with the deployment of the fijian UN troops to spy for the Assad regime?
This fala is a tatti fala just like Bainimarama and Khaiyum. That's why there is affinity amongst them.

Let us be clear about one thing : truth will never be divulged by these thug rulers of fiji and their agents. people who can - in the fiji military and elsewhere must use their contacts - to expose the truth and the true character of these rogues who have imposed their rule on the people of fiji. the bainimarama- putin - assad connection shouldn't be all hard to establish. they are all birds of the same authoritarian political feather.

Coup sychophant Robin 'Naive' Nair pops up again. Everything he touches turns to shit. Mid-level civil servant in Australia now a Fiji diplomat after shrewdly playing his cards and backing 'right' horse.

Good governance demands that people in power be held accountable. To this end former Australian PM Julia Gillard has had to front up before a Commission of Inquiry to answer questions regarding union corruption and use of slush funds and former PM Kevin Rudd was grilled by another Commission on his failed house insulation policy which resulted in the death of four men.
These were elected PM who had the legitimate right to govern but they are no exempt from being questioned about how they govern. Fiji has an unelected PM who people are frightened of criticising or questioning. How can you have good governance in such a political environment?

Bainimarama and Tikoitoga should reveal the truth but that will not happen because the military top dogs regard themselves as not accountable to anybody. what they say goes. and they have a history of hiding the truth. remember the regimental fund saga when they defied all attempts to have the funds audited?
these thugs have become a law unto themselves.
now it's up to the people to decide if they want to maintain the staus quo or fight for change.

Absolutely mind-blowing revelations here – Fijileaks! Again, you deserve our PRAISE.

Atrocious –actually – My blood boils with Anger. How can Bainimarama, Tikiotoga, Robin Nair and Saddam-Khaiyum just SELL our boys? Can you imagine what the families are now feeling?

Our men were actually, on purpose, put on RISK – so that palms are greased with MONEY.

Consider how MONEY changed hands without consideration of the SAFETY of our Soldiers. And in total disregard of the Standard Operating Procedures of the UN peace-keeping forces. UN certainly does not condone any side deals - as has been the case here.

But MONEY also mysteriously disappeared – Overseas money disappearing is certainly a hallmark of Chaudhary – But we are surely, the former axed Minister of Finance well groomed Bainimarama and Saddam-Khaiyum before he was shown the door.
