PERVERSION grips Fiji Sun newsroom, as cartoonists have field day. First, it was Managing Editor/News Maika Bolatiki outed as convicted sex pervert, and now politicians claim Sun had been perverting words to alter meaning of their political statements
The regime's propaganda mouthpiece and $240,000 beneficiary of taxpayers money for publishing the 40,0000 plus signatures of the FijiFirst (Theft) Party has gone one step further - it has emerged that for sometime now, it has been alerting or substituting key words and meanings to change the thrust of arguments of opposition political parties after having invited them to contribute their 700 word "Saturday Political Opinion" column. The latest casualty is SODELPA.
In his recent "Political Opinion" Dr Tupeni Baba wrote under
"Its Now or Never: Why is this Election So Crucial" as follows:
"Third, the Electoral Decree (Decree 11,2014) under the current Regime provides immunity provisions for the Election Commission, Supervisor for Election and members of staff of the Elections Office from any criminal and civil proceedings for any act or matter done or omitted which are carried out under the relevant provisions of this decree( section 3, Decree11,2014) in relation to the general elections. This means that if there were to be any orders given to rig the elections, those Elections Office staff found to be involved, would not be brought to court. This ridiculous provision, in any way, will encourage those who may be thinking about such ideas to actually attempt them."
Fijileaks undertstands that Sodelpa have lodged a protest with Fiji Sun for changing RIG to RIGHT in the published column!
We wonder if Fiji Sun journalists have also been altering results to give their paymaster dictator the lead in their Opinion Poll Survey?
