The self-appointed Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama (right) and Home Finance Company Ltd. Board Chairman, Tom Ricketts after the unveiling of the new logo for HFC Bank — at Novotel Suva Lami Bay.

Bainimarama warns voters against politicians and hangers-on responsible for the infamous National Bank of Fiji (NBF) scandal: “Now, some of those same politicians and hangers-on who were responsible for this scandal – and others who benefited personally – are seeking your vote in the forthcoming general election. They are relying on you having short memories. They are treating you as if you are stupid. I urge you to call their bluff and consign them to the political dustbin of history.  With their noses stuck firmly in the trough, this elite – aided by a grossly irresponsible management and board – raided the National Bank of Fiji for loans that many had no intention of repaying. They ripped off their fellow Fijians...The funds of ordinary Fijians were misappropriated.
These elites effectively robbed their own countrymen and women – decent, hardworking ordinary people who had put their trust in the Bank and the Government.”

WHAT ABOUT HIS VERY OWN  POLITICIANS & HANGERS-ON:

During his time on the FNFP Board, the Board had bought 1,716,724 Class B shares in Yatu Lau Company Ltd. Ricketts at that time held 5,000 Class A shares in Yatu Lau. Was there a conflict of interest?

Wow! Two of the greatest icons of old Fijian journalism - Nemani Delaibatiki and Victor Lal (former master and pupil of the old Fiji Sun). I had never dreamed of seeing their names together - is it four decades ago! At least some old newspaper names bring back tears of what journalism was all about, and what it still should be - Fijileaks: 1, Fiji Sun: 0. Sorry, Fiji Sun!

All SVT and SDL politicians were involved in NBF scandal. Why don't you question Pita Waqavonovono's daddy - Mosese who was Makarava's deputy.

Victor, my boy you need to learn a lot - still a lot. Stop jumping on posting what you see in your dreams.

No wonder you are on Frank's 'blacklist'.

Remember why he deported you - you tried to bring down the Fijian Judiciary by defaming three judges.

Post this if you have guts. I can see you select comments even when they are not vulgar, you still do not post them because they talk the truth about your intentions.

Get a life crap and find a job for yourself.

ME thinks that instead of abusing Victor Lal, the Frank Bainimarama regime should bring on board Victor to track down the defaulters who cause the NBF's collapse - after all, it was Victor who revealed their names in the pro-democracy blog C4/5. Long live investigative journalism, which my old buddy Nemani has sacrificed on his return to Fiji

Wananavu Fiji Leaks.

Tom Ricketts sponging off Telecom with absolutely no moral conviction. How is it possible that Ricketts & Kodagaga's appointee in the Sri Lankan CEO import dares to publicly assert that more redudancies are likely when reckless & frivolous spending is happening at the board level?

Ricketts & Kodagaga's Sri Lankan CEO import alone is weighing down the company to the tune of about half a million (plus perks) per annum, yet they have no qualms about culling at the coal face -- the same people who are supposed to be generating income for the business. It is insane and unjust.

Ricketts is sorely mistaken if he thought Christmas came early for his 'troubles'. All this stolen money will be recovered with interest and the appropriate penance will be imposed.

Its a pity how esp in fiji many like to shoot the messenger. That includes those from the IGovt who take offence at unflattering issues coming to light and how it got out rather than dealing with it rectifying it. Look at the prisoner abuse farce. All this time, with video evidence and still no word on an outcome.

Tsk tsk. Keep it coming FijiLeaks.
