The thing with creeps like Ashwind Raj is that when they start rubbing shoulders with dictators like Bainimarama and Khaiyum they begin to think like the dictator they too are untouchable - by the law.
Well it would appear the ground reality is beginning to change however incrementally and the law enforcement gang are starting to grow some spine.

Failed academic Ashwin Raj is the kind of garbage swirling around the Bainimarama regime, who make it to the top not because of merit but because of massi polo (sucking up).

Ashwin is well known for name-dropping and boasting about his close links to PM Bainimarama and AG Sayed-Khaiyum, bragging that he is untouchable because of his top level contacts.

Because he is the MIDA chair, he thinks he can get away with anything. Probably tried telling police 'do you know who I am - you will regret this!' They responded by charging and 'celling' him. Good on the cops for once!

As part of the regime apparatus Ashwin has developed a sense of impunity, now extended to bullying ordinary people and making himself a public nuisance.

He is bringing further disrepute to PM and AG (if that is at all
possible!).

So the police have made a start - a slow start, catching one regime sewer rat showing his true power intoxicated character. When the Fiji media report the case the headline should read ' regime goli hauled to court'.
There are bigger regime scoundrels like Aunty Nur Bano and Khaiyum and not forgetting dictator Frank Bainimarama who the police need to investigate and charge and haul to court as well.

The enforcer of the Baiyum's national media 'standards' has now become the news. So soon too after reducing himself to pure idiocy on television only last week.

Surely he realises that the 'legislation' he enforces says "The chairperson and the members of the Authority may be removed by the Minister for inability to perform the functions of the Authority (whether arising from infirmity of body or mind, absence, misbehaviour or any other cause) or may be otherwise removed by giving one month's remuneration in lieu of notice."

It will be very interesting to see how Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum uses his powers as AG and manipulates the system to save his good friend Aswhin Raj. Besides, Aiyaz is a consummate user of people. he badly needs Ashwin as MIDA chair to keep the media in check. My prediction is that Ashwin will get off scott free and the police will get a scolding, but I hope the police stick to their guns.

If nothing comes out of this event then the system is truely stuffed and under total domination by the almighty omnipotent aiarse. This is indeed the acid test of all things in existence in a self proclaimed democracy by the thugs that ran roughshod on everything and everyone since 2006.
