All this Constitutional Offices Commission and other paraphernalia of democratic governance is just a charade to get the international gang to say Fiji is now well on the road back to democracy and they want to support the Dictator's government with their spare money and surplus to need experts .
The international mob just love doing that. See today's Fiji Times the Japanese are signing some protocol with the dictator Frank Bainimarama on a democratic governance project!
Wow! 45 years after Independence Fiji still learning about democratic governance? Well it gives the international gang something to do with their extra money and extra experts...

It begs the question why are the top two inseparable of each other in all spheres of governance. Its been like that for the last 9 years and seems to have continuance into an indefinite future. This appears to be a situation of indispensability of each other and no one else in their sight is trustworthy or capable of playing the game they have set the rules up for. All the same players are also popping up in other areas as well like the indispensable Koda, Kaba and SG. These are the new elites Bai keeps harping about.

Its Fijileaks yet again

Thanks for raising this fundamental, yet such an important issue.

As a law student one of the first things they teach is the separation of powers. If this foreigner godoga (or whoever he is) sits on various government boards and statutory corporation, then sheer common sense should tell him (and if he is so thick) the AG or the SG that his appointment to an august body like the COC is MORE THAN A CLEAR CONFLICT OF INETREST.

Assuming all were sleeping on the job, then at least the law lord, Richard Naidu, Fiji's pre-eminent constitutional law expert should have raised this issue prior to accepting his appointment as Ro's nominee. If they all are so thick, then at least the AG should have taken counsel from Fiji's only QC, Julian Moti,

And again FT and FS are mum on the issue. Thanks to Victor Lal and Fiji Leaks for doing the job. Well done yet again.

Editor,
I came across this letter titled 'Back from the dogs ' by DeLion of Port Moresby in The Southeast Asia Times 1April and thought I should draw the attention of Fijileaks readers to it because of the relevance it has to the Fiji situation.DeLion write :
"The recent spike in the number of referrals by the Ombudsman Commission is very encouraging and is a warning to those misbehaving leaders that your days are numbered as true daughters and sons of PNG are taking their country back from the dogs.
However I have noticed that most of the leaders subject to referral are Members of Parliament who are classified as elected leaders. Under our Constitution, the leadership code covers both elected and appointed leaders ( including departmental heads, provincial administrators, and CEOs so statutory authorities ). Appointed leaders are some of the worst violators of the leadership code and should be aggressively investigated and referred to the public prosecutor. Unfortunately, this is not happening. Why is this so?"
We can say the same for Fiji.

We certainly can say so. A moot and relevant point and President of TI who visited Fiji from Canada alerted local Fiji board members. Were they paying attention?

It makes me very uncomfortable to see how same people are appointed on boards. This question was raised by Dr Biman Prasad on FBC TV n khaiyum then replied that other people are not coming forward to join boards. I applied so many times but they never chose me.
The reason is very clear- bhai n kai will have only their men in the team so that they can do anything

Finance Decree is a very good example. Everything starts with Khaiyum n everything ends with him.

What a Democracy!!
