CONSTIPATED HANDSHAKE: Kubuabola (finally) welcomes Nair to Foreign Ministry, with twitter going viral he will be sacked as Foreign Minister; he is no ethno-nationalist but a VILE RACIST OPPORTUNIST

His counterpart in the Indo-Fijian community, AIYAZ KHAIYUM, embraced Kubuabola despite the fact that this vile coupist was not only the mastermind behind Rabuka's 1987 coups, but was determined, if necessary, to MURDER us (coup opponents) as revealed in 'Taukei Movement' coup documents tendered in my own asylum trial in London; as for Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum, he abandoned us and fled to Australia to do a 'drama' degree in 1987! We never heard from him until he turned up after the 2006 coup to become interim Attorney-General. Like Kubuabola, he is the new Vile Opportunist  in Fiji, pretending to be championing Indo-Fijian rights, while enriching his family and friends!

"I do not want to see Fijians marginalised like the Maoris, Aborigines or the American Indians. Fiji is our only home, it is only here that indigenous Fijians can exercise their human and fundamental rights to self-determination, no where else in the world can they do...[Victor Lal] ignores the fact that the history of the families of those in the Administration [post George Speight coup Qarase Interim Administration appointed by Bainimarama in 2000] extends to 4000 years in Fiji, and beyond. He [Lal] ignores the long histories of those families I have already mentioned, including the Prime Minister's [Qarase], also those of His Excellency the Turaga Tui Vuda, those of Adi Teimumu Kepa, Ratu Matanitobua. He forgets that the generosity of their ancestors enabled Fiji to become a multi-ethnic nation...What he is advocating is an Indian supremacist doctrine, a new version of Hitlerian herrenvolk for Fiji. The racism lies in his desires, not those of us Fijians. His obsession to control Fiji, blinds him to his own ambitions.” - Inoke Kubuabola, August 2000

24 August 2000: Inoke Kubuabola attacks Victor Lal after joining post George Speight coup as Minister for Information in the interim Qarase led government:

“Victor Lal’s articles [in Fiji's Daily Post] all have a simple, indeed simplistic stance, restore [Mahendra] Chaudhry and impose democracy as defined by Lal and his friends. What he is advocating is an Indian supremacist doctrine, a new version of Hitlerian herrenvolk for Fiji. The racism lies in his desires, not those of us Fijians. His obsession to control Fiji, blinds him to his own ambitions.”

Here is a classic example of how Aiyaz Khaiyum sets loose his "Goonda Boys" - by giving them prominent appointments to sort out Indo-Fijians; this THUG, disguised as a FFP parliamentarian, is no different from Kubuabola's Taukei Movement thugs who were let loose against Indo-Fijians:

'After the coups of 1987 and 2000, there was a mass exodus from Fiji of tens of thousands of our best and brightest people..This exodus was a national tragedy that robbed Fiji of the opportunity to develop itself years ago into the nation that it is only now starting to become – unified, proud, with a keen sense of purpose and punching above its weight in our region and the world.'
Frank Bainimarama to Tilak High School students; Bainimarama failed to mention his Foreign Minister and principal culprit Kubuabola

The ONE thing Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum has championed successfully is HIMSELF . There can be no disputing THAT!

Yes both are of the same stock. But Inoke kept Khaiyum in check to a large extent. With him gone, there will be no one else who can pick up a phone and talk to Bai direct, or drop by his office. Kai removed Neil Sharma first. Then he got Pio fired. And he got Mosese Tikoitoga fired. Now Inoke going means Kai has completed the iron wall around Kai which he wanted to make for so long by eliminating all who Kai could rely on advise. Very dangerous for Kai, let alone the country.

Anybody who complains to Bai against Kai is taken for task. Ratu Inoke was no exception in this case.
But I wonder how the new President was exempted by kai because he also lodged complain about kai with PM just after he returned from Geneva as Minister for Labor.
All those businessmen and senior civil servants were chopped by kai for having discussed him with the Pm.

People should think 5 times b4 voting for this puppet called bainimarama come 2018- if he survives till then

So we should think five times before voting in 2018?

What are the alternatives?

The 'So Help Me God Party' with all their ideological baggage returning Fiji to a feudal past that entrenches class privilege?

The FLP under the Chods?

The FNP under the nutty professor?

The alternatives are rather unpleasant.

the Foreign Ministry is one of the most ineffective Ministries of Government but sadly any shakeup following Robin Nair's appointment will not be as a result of his initiative -- because he is basically a dithering fool -- but will be cooked up from the wings by Khaiyum. Kubuabola, a defaulter from the failed National Bank of Fiji, filled his Ministry with yes men and women, friends and the relatives of his tennis cronies, and plus his inherent deceptive easy going leadership style laced with a lot of Liu muri, an environment was created in his Ministry in which independent thought was discouraged. His toying with his mobile phone while his PM delivered s memorised speech at the UN General Assembly last year shows disrespect for the PM and also to members of the Assembly. Imagine a schoolboy doing that in class.
Over the years Kubuabola manipulated the Melanesian Spearhead Group to spearhead Indinesia becoming a full member while it has been systematically commiting genoicide against West Papuans. He brought embarrassment to Fiji by colluding with the Solomon Islands PM to have Kubuabola's pet boy, Amena Yauvoli appointed as Head of the MSG. Vanuatu and PNG are opposing the appointment saying they were not consulted and due process was not followed. The decision is likely to be reversed when the MSG meets in Vila next week.
Kubuabola has no qualms in manipulating a regional arrangement, yet within days his Ministry was forced to issue a statement saying Fiji believes in the strict adherence to and enforcement of international law. The statement followed a public announcement by China that Fiji supported China's position on contested islands in the South China Sea. China issued the statement after a meeting in Beijing between Kubuabola and his Chinese counterpart. Another case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing.
Now we come to the so called saviour of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Robin Nair. If he was doing his job well by having good communication networks and relations with Middle East governments and power wielders the kidnapping last July of 45 Fijian peacekeepers on the Golan Heights by Al Nusra Front mercenaries would not have occurred. The Al Nusra Front are supported by the Sunni Mudlim nations of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Turkey, Israel and the CIA. Israel had been frustrated for some time at what it saw as Fijian peacekeepers showing bias favouring the other side but the truth probably was our troops were not allowing the Al Nysea Front to cross through their area to gain treatment for their wounded in Israeli hospitals and also pick up war supplies from Israel. If his ears were close to the ground Nair would have received advanced warning of the impending counter action by the Al Nusra Front or at least get an official or unofficial complaint from Useael. Nair was probably distracted then by a young female Indo Fijian research student he had helped to obtain a temporary position at the Fiji embassy at the UAE that Nair led.
It's time Kubuabola moved on but I don't believe Nair has the intellect, vision, force of character and charisma to carry out any meaningful change at the Ministry.

Get a grip on yourself Pita. You are hyperventilating once again.

The Jabat Al Nusra are supported by Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Kuwait. They are the elephants in the room when dealing with Al Nusra.

And that's why Nair (Fiji) engaged with Qatar in seeking the release of the 45 peacekeepers. Nair (Fiji) did not approach Israel, Turkey and the other countries you mistakenly list as being supporters of Jabat Al Nusra.

You are drawing a very long bow by blaming Nair for the capture of the 45 peacekeepers. He is a diplomat and sits in his office Dubai or wherever and cannot expect to keep track of everyday tactical manoeuvres in the Golan. That's the role of the Fijian Battalion commander there who reports back to RFMF and to the UNPKO Department.

If anyone is to blame for the capture of the peacekeepers, it is the local commanders on the ground in the Golan who made the tactical decisions at the time. Diplomacy (as represented by Nair) stepped in to rescue the situation that was brought on largely by the decisions by UN commanders on the ground.

And that, Sir, is one of the roles of diplomacy in UN peacekeeping operations. If you have any doubts about the role of diplomacy here, consider this: UN Security Council Resolutions setting up UN peacekeeping operations are crafted by diplomats in New York, not by soldiers in the Golan or elsewhere.

Nair did his job and in doing so brought credit to Fiji and the credibility of its diplomatic service in the international arena.

Sa dri yani

"Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori" - the Roman poet Horace and WWI soldier poet Wilfred Owen both believed it sweet and honourable to die for one's country. There are many strange things which must be endured for love of country and shaking hands may be one of them. Receiving threats of an early and dastardly death may be another.

You boys can condemn each other. Now Kaiyum runs Fiji. At this point Fiji needs Ratu Inoke to remain in Cabinet. He is counterbalance to Kaiyum. If he goes, we get absolute dictatorship.

Inoke Kubuabola is a character worth studying, for he represents the human phenomenon. He is not a perfect person, because no ne is perfect. But he is a person that gives us many reasons not to trust. However, for the simple reason of having him to keep a dangerous monsters like Khaiyum and his handlers under leash and preventing him from wreaking greater havoc upon Fiji makes him an asset for the nation.

So if Inoke is out of the Kai/Bai cabinet, two things may happen.

1. Bai will have absolutely free reign and out of control. Our worst nightmares will be realised.
2. In response to one above, the people of Fiji will then gave no option but to kill the monsters or make them experience their worst nightmares.

FYI, both of the above may happen sooner rather than later because change is coming to Fiji.

Tomasi, if you are truly an honourable and peace-loving citizen and if you have any credible information of an assassination plot of some sort that is linked to a wider agenda for politically-motivated violence, then you should take it to the Police.

Fiji has suffered from politically motivated violence in 1987 and 2006 and again in 2006.

People like you have not learnt the bitter lessons of these sordid events in our history.

That's why you continue to push for your Option 2.

Can you not think of a better more civilized way of resolving political conflict?

Obviously Tomasi cannot think of another way other than his Option 2.

These type of people are morally and intellectually bankrupt and should be exposed at every opportunity.!

Thanks Vili. To clarify, Option 2 simply means that we effectively end their demonic rule over us. Taking legitimate and justified action after having suffered under their evil dictatorship for about ten years. It means having the courage to finally stand against them and holding them accountable for all the crimes they have committed. It means nailing the fraudulent Khai Con stifusion and remobing their immunity bomb shelter. It means we the people taking back our rightful power and authority to govern ourselves and make the best decisions that affect our daily lives and how we relate to others around us. It means no more talking because they took that away from us. It means enough waiting because we have waited long enough. It means no more fear and intimidation and lies and deceit and fraud by those self appointed criminals, thieves and murderers masquerading as leaders.

Yes, there is a movement founded on truth, justice and righteousness. It has the support of the people within and outside Fiji, enjoying the benefits of highly qualified legal minds of the highest integrity and people of all walks of life. This movement believes that positive action is needed and ought to be taken within the bounds of moral and natural justice. Khaiyum will be given the chance to redeem himself during his exile. Power must return to the people, but this evil cabal will never hand us back that power. They intend to rule Fiji for as long as they live.

Khai and Bai were handed petitions a few days ago, offering them options. The petition has the backing of people in Fiji and abroad. Its main objectives and explicit requests are:

1. for Khaiyum to resign and face the full brunt of the law

2. for the Govt to convene a national reconciliation meeting for the nation.

3. For Khaiyum to be banished or exiled to another country or isolated island if he refuses to comply.

4. Integral to this process is the thorough investigations and legal and moral processes to be followed to ensure that those who have abused power shall be brought to justice.

5. Fiji shall have a fresh beginning, a clean slate so to speak. New elections under a new Constitution. Let the people of Fiji decide their own future and how they live their own lives, True democracy, restoration of freedoms, protection of human rights.

Copies of the petition are available. All ambassadors, Chiefs, religious leaders have been copied, including HM Queen Liz the Second of Great Britain.

After adding your response, I thought we were in the "Democratic Republic of the Congo".

Get real Tomasi.

So you would have non-Fiji citizens living 'abroad' have a say in our future, when they do not even pay tax to the Fiji Government?

Don't you see the moral bankruptcy of this idea?

So you would have assholes like Suli Dauniveidulu et al who live overseas and pay tax to their country of residence, be given the right to determine our future in Fiji to which they pay no tax?

Really?

Which chiefs Tomasi? Can you name them?

As for HM the Queen, please leave her alone.

Rabuka chucked her out in September 1987, backed of course by the GCC.
