Mrs Basundra Kumar, the former Education permanent secretary, was responding to our earlier posting and screen shots from two videos that was sent to us. She further stated that her husband is the Vice President of Vunimono Maha Mandal, and they are actively involved in all functions and they worship maa durga thus the dances. "Dear Editor, I am attaching the photos [Fijileaks: see below] of the current durga pooja at the same temple and I am no longer the permanent secretary. All the devotees and Vunimono community will vouch for these celebrations. I am the leader and the co-ordinator of the programmes."

In his letter to The Age 21/10 John Tully questions " why is there no transparent selection process for the post of ambassador to the US as for the public service jobs?
The answer is very transparent . It's because diplo- mates are selected. The elitist mates of the ruling elite get picked up for such posts. This kind of " selection process " is not unique to appointments made by politicians in power. The trade Union mob engage in it as well. They always pay special attention to their mates when it comes to promotions, postings and transfers and overseas trips.Particularly in the teachers trade Union and the public service people who suck up to the Union bosses and do chamchagiri get special consideration and privileges.its a caricature of what happens in government.

Very well said Mr Naidu. In Bai kais new Fiji the meritous people doesn't have any chance.Look at the appointment of new LTA board of review and other government boards. All Bai Kai chamchas are given jobs. Most of the Bai Kai appointed board members r unable to perform in there own respect tive jobs however they are given additional portfolios. A blind leading another blind.

Basundra is a very corrupt lady who had used all the resources available with her to be appointed as acting p s education. She had taken the short cut approach which had resulted in her failure,hence suspended.
