DESERT HACKING FOX LEFT TO GUARD THE FIJI EMBASSY IN ROBIN NAIR'S ABSENCE: Kubuabola refuses to SACK Teleni's brother Aliki Salusalu whom Nair has accused of hacking and doctoring his e-mails

"That the Counselor [Salusalu] be recalled immediately. He is no asset to the Embassy as he has little to offer. Secondly, the Police wish to interview him and this will require waiver of diplomatic immunity. The [UAE] Foreign Ministry has talked to me about declaring him persona non grata if he is not given access... Any such eventuality would be embarrassing to Fiji and should be avoided, as it the usual diplomatic practice. He is not only a threat to me but to our Government if he is left in this sensitive position."

"After preliminary investigation, the Police have identified the prime suspect as my Counselor on the basis of motive, know-how, and dubious behavior after the event...They have told me that I am obliged to file a formal complaint for them to start the investigation. They have asked me for particular information. They have asked me to have access to the Counselor for an interview.." - Robin Nair to acting Permanent Secretary Esala Nayasi, MFA

"As you are aware Sir, I have worked here with both of my arms tied behind my back.  What I am about to say is not new to you, because we have discussed these many times before. Apart from the fact that the Counselor finds his job beyond his capabilities as he is a IT specialist and finds the foreign policy environment impossibly alien to him. We cannot blame him for his orientation and I understand that. As a result,  I have spent an inordinate amount of time turning my other cheek and mentoring and exposing him to every opportunity to learn.  He is also an ultra-nationalist and finds the changes taking place in Fiji to be  against iTaukei interests. It appears to have affected him seriously. He has been vocal about these. He finds it difficult to accept the changes. He feels that Indo-Fijians are not entitled to any senior government positions but these should be reserved for ITaukeis.  Both he and his wife have associated with fringe elements of the Fijian community here who are open opponents of PM and even more strongly AG, in spite of my counseling him... He has coveted my job from day one, believing he was sent here by PM. He found it difficult to settle in especially when he had been No.1 in his earlier position. He appeared to be in a  rush to depose me by discrediting me. He started his sabotage of me straight after his arrival.  I have tried to tell  him that his time will come if he focused on this wonderful opportunity given to him and his family. My first Secretary who worked very well with me initially when we set up the Embassy, has been heavily influenced by  the Counselor. Mr [Emosi] Rakai has admitted this to me personally saying he has acted under instructions from the Counselor. Mr Rakai tries to walk on both sides of the road."

"I have now reported to HQ  as required a serious criminal activity perpetrated against the Embassy and against the accredited Ambassador.  The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the local Police have taken the breach seriously. There has been a breach against the sanctity of the Embassy. They have named a suspect and has sought full cooperation from me.  I am surprised that your answer is that we should have another investigation into allegations against the Counselor and now a principal suspect in a criminal offence. Any objective onlooker would at least come to the conclusion which the Police here have concluded, that the Counselor indeed would have the motive given his serious activities against me over a continuous period of 2.5 years, coupled with his recent grievance that I have been asked to stay longer."

"The decision to have an investigation despite the record of Mr Salusalu, is, of course, legitimately yours but I wish to say that I do not support an inquiry in such an urgent circumstance. The matter is with the Police as the alleged crime was committed in the local jurisdiction. They are conducting an investigation. I also do not support the decision that  the prime suspect be left in-charge of the Embassy over the period of my absence. It would be like a letting the prime suspect in arson case to be in-charge of the crime scene. I have done as  I am obliged to do. I have reported the incident to you and provided my recommendation. This would be the second time my recommendation has not been accepted in a disciplinary matter involving staff here. Each time they have been slapped in the wrist only for serious illegitimate activities."

SHUT OUT: Kubuabola and Nayasi refused to appoint Rakai to take charge of the Embassy in Nair's absence; they handed control to Salusalu

"That I appoint Emosi Rakai to be Charge D’Affaires until my return on 22 July. I fly out on Wednesday evening. Mr Rakai is much more experienced and given the challenge, he can rise up to it. He weakened considerably after Mr Salusalu was appointed the Counselor above him. Sir, it has taken me a long time to make such holistic deliberations and  recommendation. Perhaps Mr Salusalu should have been gone after his first serious offence in early 2013.  I have tried very hard to help him. He is now beyond rehabilitation or redemption. He walks into one disaster after another. In spite of the shenanigans, I have been able to have this Embassy perform to a high standard for the last three years. I am tired now!" - Nair to Nayasi, 22 June 201

Objective onlookers is one lot you will NOT find in the Bai-Kai regime. It is naive for Regime man Robin Nair to expect that. He must realise that he is expandable. The gang in power would not lose a wink of sleep to dump him . He has outlived his usefulness to the regime.his engagement by the regime was cosmetic.to give the impression that this was a non racial, fair truly democratic regime.

Robin Nair joined the Bainimarama-Kaiyum bandwagon in the belief that the regime was on admission to bring about a " paradigm change" in the way government was conducted. Can Nair tell us whether the paradigm change happened?

Robin is fighting a battle that has already been lost. He won't find any favour with the corrupt to the core regime of kubuabola and Kaiyum. I feel pity for the Indo-Fijians. They thought that Bainimarama would provide solace to them after years of discrimination. Bainimarama has turned around and bitten them for the trust they placed in him by appointing people like kubuabola and Kaiyum. Back to ground zero for indo-Fijians.

Editor,
Iris reported in PBS Newshour 22/06 that " The mass shooting in Charleston isn't about an isolated event but can be seen as part of the troubled history of racial hatred and violence in. The US" that came from none other than the US President Barack Obama. He went on to say America is not cured of racism.Acknowledging this troubled history of the US in that PBS panel were prominent Americans Richard Cohen of the Southern Poverty Law Centre, former FBI special agent Gregg McCrary and Paul Butla of Georgetown University Law Centre.
We of course have a troubled racial history of our own.which also continues to rear it's ugly head notwithstanding Bainimarama's purported " multiracial" coup.
But what I find strange about the American case is that when someone like me refers to Americas troubled history we get banned from entering the country!
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

And so? What has that got to do with the price of fish in the market? Stick to the topic.

And, you should go and play with your stick like the Fiji soldier above because you lack the intellectual capacity to grasp what is discussed here.

Why is he (Robin) make his relations with Salusalu public. That should be confidential at all cost.

Is he trying to get public on his side? After accused of Adultery. The way his acting is looks guilty as accused.

Dear Vakatawa, Whether Robin committed adultery or not that is besides the point and it is his own personal matter, which is between him and his spouse. The essence here is about sick minded people like Aliki who have racism in their bones and cannot escape until they are cleansed to their bone marrow.

What Bainimarama is preaching is just a show there is no meritocracy in Fiji's civil service, all is done based on race, I-taukei senior officials appointing only their relatives and friends and Indo-Fijians now predominantly muslims appointing people of their faith in civil service.

When you have a extremist like Kubu in Foreign Affairs you ought to have only I-taukei to be the diplomats and staff at the Ministry just take a closer look at Ministry of Foreign Affairs today all are filled with his relatives and associates of his close friends.

If anyone that should be kicked out of government is Kubu he has given nothing to Fiji only coups. C'mon his own family even disowns him.

And, Robin Nair should not be complaining about ultra nationalism now.Ultra nationalists who were prime players in the racist Rabuka coup of 1987 were in the Bainimarama line up from the very outset.that did not give Robin any pause for concern. He rushed in with his eyes wide open and his tongue hanging out to join the Bainimarama gang. Sorry, no sympathy for you Robin.

We call ourselves Fijians. What sort of Fijians are we? In hunger for power we get our fellow staff terminated. We dig so hard to find fault in other people’s life and if there is nothing we cook things up to cause disrepute. Aliki Salusalu placed in all effort to get Wati Bogidrau terminated and he with his fellow mates closed their door to this lady in UAE. Ambassador Nair stood up to assist this lady by accommodating her and getting her through to her career. We need people like Ambassador Nair in whose eye every Fijian is equal. Those who are jealous of his success are behind these cooked up things. Ambassador you have not left any stone unturned in this mission however we continue to have people in this regime that cannot live without demeaning the Indo-Fijians.

I ask again : Where is the paradigm change that Bainimarama and Khaiyum claimed they were bringing about in the "new " Fiji they were creating and which people like Robin Nair accepted hook, line and sinker?
Perhaps changing the flag is the paradigm change. wow!

If you want your comments to be considered for publication, please use names of your choice but not to impersonate - that applies to two of you - Shandiya and Khaiyum

Thanks
