The original Fiji Sun newspaper decided to fold up business rather than compromise its independent reporting after the first military coup of 1987. It took a principled stand against media interference and manipulation by the State authorities,
The present Fiji Sun has abandoned all journalistic principles of independent reporting and has thrown its full support behind the current coup regime of Frank Bainimarama. It has become a disgrace of a newspaper. It's primary function in recent times has been to propagandize for the Fijian dictator so that he can win the so called "free and fair" election the dictator has staged.

what can one say about nemani delaibatiki? better men have gone to seed with the passage of time. this fala has only come back to fiji to cash in on the goodies that are being handed out by the thug rulers of Fiji to anyone who is prepared to sing their praise. isn't that what nemani has been doing since his return? Fiji Sun is a regime mouthpiece paper and nemani has joined the Fiji Sun when other senior journalist left or were forced to leave. that in itself speaks volumn about nemani .
