ELECTION BUDGET: The former Election Commissioner Professor Vijay Naidu characterizes Khaiyum's Budget as "Election Budget" on NFP's live stream analysis: 'Demagogue. He thinks we have collective amnesia'

Fijileaks: Despite dishing out millions to different Government departments,  Khaiyum presented an incomplete BUDGET, and his FFP government media did not even have the courtesy to upload it on their sites for public consumption - hence we have not produced it. He also provided no ESTIMATES in contravention of s144 of his 2013 Constitution and 99(2) of the Standing Orders of Parliament

"No mention whatsoever on social housing. No mention of housing for the poor. And he labelled that as "ghetto housing." Cant ignore that a large section of our population need social housing." Professor Naidu

FNPF granted exclusive Casino licence
The Fiji National Provident Fund will be granted an exclusive Casino licence to construct a casino by the new convention centre at Momi Bay which will in turn support members of the Fund. This has been revealed by Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum in his 2017-2018 National Budget address

Fijileaks: One Hundred Sands was granted exclusive casino licence under Khaiyum's Casino Decree but no dice was rolled out; now he is talking up another casino to be girded by FNFP members money

Khaiyum is getting desperate. Despite 11 years in power he has nothing to show for it except an unsustainable half trillion ($500 bn) debt that the World Bank is starting to question. Khaiyum has not produced a multi year national development plan that good economic governance requires. Yet the military and other players of the Fiji Deep State still shield him while his nominal PM Bainimarama galivates around the world at the people's expense.
Khaiyum had been banking on the trillions of dollars that he thought would be forthcoming from the Climate Find but with the US withdrawal from the Paris Agreement and more and more countries starting to question the fraud behind the Paris Agreement (that gives unfair advantages to Russia, China and India) COP23 and Khaiyum!s dreams are starting to unravel. Hence, there is nothing much being said about that subject now. Under Kai and Bai Fiji was a kleptocracy. With the granting of the Casino licence to the Sri Lankans of the FNPF Khaiyum wants to turn Fiji into a casino economy. I wonder what Christians and indeed Myslim FNPF members will say when they learn that their money is being used to promote gambling which is against the doctrines of both religions?

King, you couldn't have captured the dominant political culture in Fiji more succinctly when you say " Under Kai and Bai was[is] a kleptocracy". With the principal kleptocrats Kai and Bai having their dirty hands on the public purse from day one of their power grab. The only way to be rid of that political culture is to get rid of the compulsive thieves and liars in chief - Frank Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum - the two most rotten and ruthless rulers Fiji has witnessed since becoming an independent nation state.

One word sums up Khaiyum's stewardship of the country since his Machiavellian rise to power following Bainimarama's armed seizure of the government of Fiji in 2006 : SHAMBOLIC.
It's time the good people of Fiji said we have had enough of Khaiyum and the puppet PM Bainimarama's nonsense and reclaimed the country and set it back on the track to good governance.

Editor,
Standing Up Against Tyranny
The Venezuelan Supreme Court approved proceedings against Attorney General Luisa Ortega who is accused of allegedly committing
" grave errors" in her role as the nation's top law enforcement official.
Graves errors? Sounds like the kind of charge fabricated by a communist or totalitarian state to persecute critics.
Ortega is a well known critic of president Maduro. She has launched legal challenge to Maduro's plan to rewrite the constitution which critics view as another attempt to cling to power as he faces increasingly violent protests against his government, described by critics as a " tyrannical government ". It's not hard to see why the Maduro regime is out to get her.
Ortega remained defiant in the face of the high court move saying the ruling was an attack not against her but the very foundations of Venezuela's democracy ( Aljazeera 21/6 and 30/6 ).
We are familiar with that phenomenon of the malicious prosecution of opponents and critics in post Bainimarama coup Fiji.
Patriots who are committed to safeguarding the foundations of Fiji's democracy must like Ortega remain defiant.
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

Is Khaiyum setting aside some more money in his latest budget for his " New Fiji's " glorious new flag under which the now equal citizens of Fiji will all live happily ever after?

With community decay ( breakdown of norms of society brought about by the coup culture ) there is a rise in the problem of teenage pregnancy and the phenomenon of children bearing children. Will Khaiyum be distributing free condoms to promote safe sex?

Kini,

The debt level is 4.5b and not 500 billion or half trillion.

You have made the debt 100 times bigger with chutney and chilli.

Hey Bhaiya Tota Ram
Now u see the ambiguity in our debt figures. Whether the debt is 4.5bn or half a trillion it is arbitrary when viewed in broad numbers. Ordinary people find it hard to grasp the import of arbitrary figures. But when u put it in terms of per capita it becomes more meaningful. Every man, woman and child in Fiji has a debt of $5,000 hanging over their head. They can only pay this by the state squeezing as much out of them as possible to pay the debt. I feel sorry for future generations, our children and their children who will be saddled with the responsibility for paying back Khai and Bai's excesses.
