The Punja Family (mostly menfolk): $295,000. Punja Staff: $89,307.74
One ANNETTE ALLEN is listed as having donated $10,000 on 15 August 2019. We painstakingly created our own database out of the Supervisor of Elections FFP donors lists and have concluded that she is the wife of Pravish Punja (photo below), so we have included her in the Punja family donation list. In the original 2019 donation list Annette Allen remained elusive for weeks until we cracked her identity. We have also concluded that three of the donors are on Punja Group of Companies payroll. More on them anon. After our forensic re-examination of our database, we have concluded that the Punja Family donated $295,000 and not $265,000. And the Tappoo Family donated $1,004,244.92
The Chairman of Punja Group of Companies (PGC), KANTILAL PUNJA, donated $40,000 to FijiFirst Party betweeen 4 July 2014 to 17 January 2019. RAJESH PUNJA, the director of PGC, former Fiji Airways chairman and now its Board Member, donated $45,000; Jagjiwan Punja, $50,000; Pravish Punja, $40,000; Chetan Punja, $40,000; Nitin Punja, $50,000, and the New Zealand based Jagdish Punja donated $10,000 in 2018. In fact, the other Punjas made no donations in 2018, the year FFP took the country to the polls. For 2017, we have no proof who at FFP received $60,000 from the Punjas, and in 2019, there are no receipt numbers nor the FFP Receiver. Again, $60,000 was donated in total that year. Also, Jagdish Punja's donation has no receipt number nor the identity of FFP receiver. Surely, being businessmen for over 80 years in Fiji, why didn't the Supervisor of Elections confront the Punjas and FFP general secretary over missing receipts etc, like he is hounding the National Federation Party. In fact, Mohammed Saneem told us that FFP statements are in order - utter RUBBISH. As for the $295,000 donation to FijiFIRST Party, it is legal under Aiyaz Khaiyum's Donation Decree but morally and economically reprehensible to the common man on the street. We do not believe that the $10,000 limit from individuals was designed for the rich and powerful families to short-circuit it. These mega rich businessmen families contributed the most to FFP's $7.5million fighting election machine. The Punjas, of all business houses, are still smarting from allegations in the Fiji High Court that that they allegedly financed the overthrow of the Chaudhry government in 2000. When, in February 2003, the Punja's Ocean Soaps factory was razed by fire, NITIN PUNJA had told the Fiji media that the Company had been receiving threats after Salesi Tuitagalele, a witness in the treason trial of Josefa Nata and Timoci Silatolu, made allegations linking the company along with C J Patel as financiers of the May 19, 2000 coup. Public reacted strongly to the allegations and staff of Punja and Sons were continuously sworn at and verbally abused on the street, a day after the allegations were made in Suva’s High Court. The employees who could not handle the insults went home and changed out of their uniforms. Punja and Sons had advised all their staffs not to wear the company uniforms or carry Punjas logo for their personal safety. We REPEAT, the $295,000 donation to FijiFIRST Party is LEGAL, under Khaiyum's devious DONATION DECREE. However, we have no doubt if the millions had gone to other parties in the 2014 elections, by now he would have closed the loophole where entire families and their staff have been donating to FijiFirst Party. Three of Punjas staff donated over $85,000
HARI PUNJA FAMILY: The only person who donated to FijiFirst Party from the other branch of the Punja family was Hari Punja's wife, Tara Punja. On 4 August 2014, she had donated $10,000 to FFP Head Office
In the Punja family's footsteps: * NAVIN PRASAD, Group Chief Financial Officer at Punja & Sons, *RAJ SINGH, Group Financial Controller at Punja & Sons Ltd, and SUDESH KUMAR MUDALIAR, Punjas IT consultant based in Australia, contributed thousands on the same day, month, and year - as did the Punja family members to the FijiFIRST PARTY. In 2015, Prasad was voted one of the two YOUNG ACCOUNTANT OF THE YEAR
COMING SOON: The Fiji Football Association president RAJESH PATEL and his family members donated thousands to the FijiFIRST PARTY.
The Donations were truly BATTLE OF THE BUSINESS GIANTS, leaving the ordinary VOTERS as mere penniless SPECTATORS
From Fiji Labour Party website, 24 February 2003:
Punjas Lautoka Factory Burnt Down
A Punja and Sons factory was razed by fire on Wednesday night, a day after claims in the High Court in Suva that the company had financed the May 2000 coup.
The Ocean Soaps Company building, which was 50-years old, on Sautamata Street, in the Namoli industrial area, was completely destroyed, causing millions of dollars in damage.
Police force are investigating the cause of the fire, although they have not ruled out foul play. Police could not establish whether the property and its contents were insured.
The premises were well secured with security officers manning the gates on a 24-hour basis. The building was well fenced and workers were doing shift work inside when fire broke out at about 11:30 pm.
Workers on the night shift and the security officer on duty were taken in for questioning.
The Managing Director of Punja and Sons Nitin Punja said they did not have access to the site and as such were not able to access the full extent of damage and did no say anything on the future of workers in the soap factory.
The Company claimed they had been receiving threats after Salesi Tuitagalele, a witness in the treason trial of Josefa Nata and Timoci Silatolu, made allegations linking the company along with C J Patel as financiers of the May 19, 2000 coup.

The employees who could not handle the insults went home and changed out of their uniforms. Punja and Sons had advised all their staffs not to wear the company uniforms or carry Punjas logo for their personal safety.
