FIJILEAKS ON RABUKA: We make no apology for holding this man to account (he is still hiding behind IMMUNITY) and we will continue to dissect every word of his so that FIJI is not turned into 'Satan's Paradise'

Those accusing Fijileaks of being pro FFP should hold SODELPA accountable for appointing this Godfather of Coups to lead their party. For too long, we have fought coupists, only to wake up and see others embracing them. No wonder Fiji has not been able to get rid of COUPS.  There was no internet and social media when Rabuka executed his two coups (kuttus). As a result, the new generation are not aware of this man's crimes. He destroyed the Great Council of Chiefs by becoming the chairman of the august chiefly body, and brought disrepute to the military with his two coups, blaming "Kalou" - GOD - for pinching him in his sleep to execute the coups. He bankrupted the National Bank of Fiji. He destroyed press freedom.  He exploited ordinary native Fijian sentiments to turn Fiji into a HELL HOLE, and has now re-emerged to play 'saviour' of Fiji. NEVER AGAIN MUST WE DROP OUR GUARD AGAINST HIM. This posting is not about Indo-Fijians versus native Fijians. It is all about HIM - Sitiveni Rabuka - and his ultra-nationalist followers who beat up anyone who dared to stand up to him in 1987

The following photos speak volume. Just look at them. We were urged to stand up to the coupists - RABUKA, SPEIGHT, BAINIMARAMA, - only to wake up and find the same politicians sleeping in bed with them. We paid a heavy price while these politicians are still up there: taking us for a ride

After 1987 Rabuka coup:

ON 14 May 1987 Victor Lal spoke out against the Rabuka coups on British television, radio, and in international newspapers. He also spoke out in public and private meetings, and has never stopped speaking out against coups in Fiji, paying a very heavy personal price but only to see that many who set out with him cut deals with Rabuka and other coupists that followed him.

Jai Ram Reddy (with Tupeni Baba) arrive in London after being overthrown by Rabuka. Victor Lal and others launched "FIGHT FOR FIJI". While Victor Lal continued his fight, Reddy and others cut deals with Rabuka
Picture
SHAKING hands with the Coupists is all too familiar sight in Fiji. Reddy with Rabuka. If so, one wonders why ordinary mortals even bother to stand up for them?

After 2000 Speight coup:

After 2006 Bainimarama coup:

During the height of the stand-off between the military and the Qarase government, VICTOR LAL had called for Bainimarama's arrest to avert the 2006 coup

SHOCKINGLY, when Mahendra Chaudhry flew into London from India and was met by VICTOR LAL and other members of the Movement for Democracy in Fiji in 2001, he did not have the courtesy to inform them that "Mother India" was going to secretly transfer millions into his Sydney bank account. Who says RACISM in Fiji does not pay? Speight coup made Chaudhry multi-millionaire, as Victor Lal found out seven years later, in 2008:

FIJILEAKS WILL CONTINUE TO HOLD POWER TO ACCOUNT WITHOUT FEAR OR FAVOUR:

"CRY THE BELOVED COUNTRY"

The following poem by Nikhat Shameem, published in 1995, captures the plight of the Indo-Fijians in Rabuka's Fiji:

ANOME

I leave this land where I was born
this sunny warm May morning
History has been unkind
to take no note of this bond
between me
and this land of mine

Misted porthole
I look out, I leave my soul
I cry my farewell
to home and friends and a life well-known
For what? I think with fear

Yes, I am scared and angry too
How can I start afresh?
In a country not seen before
what little choice I have

Your home is not your home, they said
Repatriate them! they called

Ten more minutes to touch down
Is that you my heart that pounds?

I wait at the airport, clutching my suitcase
and struggle with tears
No job, no work permit, what do I do?
Where will I go?
No home
No place to hide
How do I heal my wounds?

Head high I remember
the Syria
Through my veins flows
girmitiya blood
If they could do it
so will I
Do your damnedest

I will survive
in this new land
New Zealand

"The Syria" in the poem refers to this girmitiya
ship Syria which wrecked in Fiji in 1884;
many survivors were saved by Nasilai villagers

And an extract from Victor Lal's autobiography on the plight of "Exiles"

OF all the good People in Fiji, is this a, has-been, coupist, bank-robber, RACIST, the only blooming choice we have as a Leader...?

We thought Chori was the only constant in Fiji's politics - now we need coupists too. In that case - Long Live Bainimarama and his FijiTheft Party.

Sodelpa has paved the way with Rabuka to another four years of BaiKai Rule. And daaku Chaudhary would be the red carpet.

Justice demands when you do the crime you must do the time. Rabuka didn't. He got away hiding behind the immunity he had given himself. The crimes he committed with his military thugs and civilian collaborators permanently changed the Fiji political landscape. It brought untold suffering and Stigmatizing, trauma and misery to thousands of Fiji citizens, particularly the Indo-Fijians who were scapegoated to justify Rabuka's military coup as an ethnic Fijian uprising to take back their " God given country " from the greedy, heathen Kai Idia.
I am one with Fijileaks stance on Rabuka and ALL other coupists.
It's a great national shame that Fiji has to turn to Rabuka to get rid of another military coupist Bainimarama.
Fiji deserves better leadership than that.

Chiku, Rabuka did the coup because it was the motive of the indian businessmen then but Bainimarama did it for his personal agenda thinking sooner or later he will lose his job as rfmf commander.

Therefore, the one with the personal agenda can last for more than 20-30 years taking the country into devastation and bankruptcy because of the lust of the agenda.

When anything is taken personally you won't understand about its impact and side effects..

Editor,
The trial of former Ivory Coast First Lady Simone Gbago has resumed in a court in the West African nation ( France 24 Paris Live 22/2 ). She is accused of crimes against humanity and war crimes for her alleged role in a civil war that followed a 2010 presidential election...
Holding people in power to account . This sends the right message . People in power, who abuse their position and power and commit atrocities, will be brought to justice and face the full force of the law.
That is as should be.
The victims and their families deserve that.
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

Let's face it Frank Bainimarama is a puppet of Khaiyum, who in turn is a puppet of big business. That is the Fiji First formula. If Rabuka's comes to power which is very unlikely, nothing will change, still the same pro NATO and pro big business policies. Sadly voters will have not much choice in 2018 yet Fiji needs alternative leadership now more than any other time in its history as the FFP has lost its way and is now relying on the politics of distraction. The National Development Plan Khaiyum promised us last year has never materialised, why? Because big business -- finance capital and the owners of it -- are doing fine as it is now. Why awaken the public's mind from their reverie? The old Roman dictum of bread and circuses is all what the FFP is about these days -- keep the public distracted, hide statistics and promote the puppet Bai to keep the masses happy.

Apart from the coup which Frank is also a part of, Rabuka will still makes a good leader because he is a very intelligent guy compared to the dumpster Frank who is always humiliating himself in public unprofessionally.

If it is ONLY a COUPIST who can truly liberate us from the clutches of BaiKai than we should not rely on a former COUPIST to do it but let’s have another, fresh-face, COUPIST, from the military, today.

That would certainly be more interesting than to have fooking Rabuka.

Keep up the good work Victor. Let's keep the spotlight on the critical issues that affect us and on the people, pawns and invisible faces behind the screens who seek to exploit our ignorance, fear or indifference. Knowledge is power. The truth will set us free. We the people must not allow politicians nor the Government to rule over us. We must remind them that they are our servants, and not our masters. We must remind ourselves that together, we the people are responsible for our own destiny under God's ultimate sovereignty. No party or Government must be allowed to rob us of our rights and freedoms. These are sacred and God-given. Let no man dare to think that they can take away from us what God has given us so freely. But we must stand up, speak up and be prepared to fight for those rights and freedoms, because it it those same rights that constitute the basis of true democracy and a happy and noble society. In God we trust. Vinaka.

Next Election I'll vote Bainimarama

Coupist Rabuka reported Indians will never rule ever again, and Bainimarama completed that process.

So what has Rambuka got to offer to indigenous Fijians that Bainimarama has not done already.

Maybe another interest free $20m for another 10years, but this time to plant sugar cane?

Is he setting up a Catholic -vs- Methodist competition?

Clearly Rambo plans to start anew, although I highly doubt it since he's done enough for the country regardless of whether its damage or healing if any.

Besides, I thought he was going to retire for good but he believes he's not done yet with politics.
