PS: The current crop running the Fiji Sun are beneficiaries of another deportation, that of the paper's former publisher RUSSELL HUNTER following that paper's revelation that Bainimarama's Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry was hiding $2million in Australia. What is really sickening is how political thugs and crooks manipulate dictators, to persecute real or perceived opponents, and when they fall out or are kicked out, re-emerge and re-invent themselves as the only ones who can unseat their former political bedfellows. We forget the mental and physcial violence that they had helped to inflict on their victims. In Hunter's case, his wife and daughter in Fiji were totally kept in the dark following his abduction by the military in front of them, about his fate until he landed in Sydney. His crime: he published the TRUTH that Chaudhry was hiding $2million in Sydney. And, no surprise, there is always someone who has prescient knowledge of the inner mind of what Dictatorship family will do next to their political targets - DEPORT them out of Fiji:

"They broke into the back yard and then gave me an instruction that if I did not open the front door in 3 seconds they would smash the door. I dont think I had a choice but to open the door. I have said the manhandling happened when they snatched phones. My wife has bruises on her arms. There were no hot meals. I paid to get coffee and sandwiches for us. I paid the guards $25. They did allow us to take 85 kilos. My wife had always had 2 bags packed knowing that we might be dealt with in this way and since the Fiji Sun had a piece saying that this could happen on January 24. The rest we packed together and most importantly we had the Sikh Scriptures that we had to bring with us. I don't think this is doing us a big favour. I am a Tabua Club member so get extra weight anyway...The bottom line is that our human rights were trampled to the point of not being allowed to go to the toilet or change without the presence of these goons."
