* SODELPA General Secretary, Lenaitasi Duru, has reported Ro Filipe to the Fiji Elections Office because he blamed a faction within SODELPA for former MP Niko Nawaikula’s imprisonment. Duru in his complaint letter states that Ro Filipe’s statement in one of the media outlets is misleading, false, unsubstantiated, and attempt to discredit his former party.
* Fijileaks to Ro Filipe: So, if you enter government under the wings of the PAAPI COUPIST AND RACIST, you will protect all the thieving in a PAP-NFP girmit government, just like the PAAPI is hiding under the IMMUNITY following his 1987 coups and the imprisonment and beatings of your FATHER, the late Ratu Mosese Tuisawau?
* Our Founding Editor-in-Chief was the direct intermediary between the gun runners and your FATHER, for the Rewa chief could not stand by and watch a third-ranking army THUG raping, beating, robbing, AND torturing Indo-Fijians and other moderate Fijians and those of other minority races shortly after the racially motivated 1987 coups.
A VOTE FOR PRASAD IS A VOTE FOR RABUKA TO BECOME PM
Biman: Youths are 'fed up'
NATIONAL Federation Party (NFP) leader Professor Biman Prasad has appealed to the youth to exercise their right to vote.
He said this was the time for the youth to demand change. “I appeal to our young people.
Those who were 10 years old are now 25, 26 years old. All they have seen is dictatorship in this country,” he said.
“Sometimes it makes me feel very sad that unfortunately our young people have only seen dictatorship in this country but many of them are now realising that this is not how a Government should run, this is not how a political system should run and they know draconian laws.
“I am confident that this time, it’s the young people and the youth who are going to vote this FijiFirst Government out. That’s the message I’m getting from young people throughout the country. They are fed up. They know their future is at stake.
“They know they have to pay this enormous debt burden that has been piled up on them by this Government.
It’s their children who will pay. They understand that now.”
Prof Prasad said the young middle class people who had small children were trying to leave the country because they were fed up with many of the issues plaguing the nation.
“I have young people in my family, my friends, their children. They are all telling me they are fed up, and they want to see a change in Government.
I appeal to young people. It’s a very difficult time.
“Many of them want to leave this country, but I appeal to them. Hang on, vote this Government out and let’s reset the political environment and dialogue, reset how we run Government and work for the future of this country.”
Youth voters will play a vital role in this year’s General Election as political parties hope to vie for their votes come December 14.
Young people make up a good chunk of Fiji’s population and will hold that power when it comes to polling.
However, the 2018 General Election Voter Turnout and Survey released by the Fijian Elections Office (FEO) stated the lowest voter turnout was recorded for the 21-30 age cohort, at 60.41 per cent.
The 18-20 cohort stood at 62.79 per cent.
On the other end of the spectrum, the highest voter turnout was recorded for the 51-60 cohort, which was 82.44 per cent.
