FNU TEACHER 'GRADUATES' SENT OUT TO SCHOOLS without passing their BA Education (Primary/Secondary) Degree; now FNU taking exam papers to their respective schools for re-sit; Reddy MUST BE SACKED!!!

Fijileaks: The finger-wagging and cane wielding elitist Education Minister Mahendra Reddy, IS (like the 'Kama Sutra' allegations we put to him) hiding from us after we questioned him why some FNU students who did not complete their degree were sent out to teach in schools; The Ministry of Education didn't even care to check these students result transcripts but posted them on a merit that they have a degree from FNU. Now,
FNU is going to the extent of contacting students to complete the programme. The cost will be paid by FNU and papers (Special Assessment (SA) Exam) will be taken to these students wherever they are teaching throughout the Fiji Islands.
Will Reddy and FNU be investigated by the Fiji Higher Education Commission (and by Reddy's overlord Aiyaz Sayed Khayium) for the 'degree scam' and Reddy's failure in the duty of care to the school students where his Ministry has posted these 'graduates' to?
Fijileaks: STEP DOWN REDDY FOR FULL INVESTIGATION!
BETTER STILL YOU ARE SACKED!

Dear Vilive,

I am new and was not aware of the process that I have to present the Supplementary Assessment until the moment I was sitting in the room during the presentation. I did not receive the mail because I was away in Suva on Friday. I was given the supplementary assessment to mark four weeks before the meeting by the outgoing lecturer Mrs. Bikaca. It was marked and I told the head of school about the SA and she asked me to keep it. My problem was that no one told me about the process and for that reason I did not prepare the presentation script. I again reminded the HOS about the SA after the meeting and she told me to get it and give it to PAO for the HOS meeting the next morning.

I am still finding my way through my work place and need to get access to Premium so I can enter marks of students taking EEN200 Language Study 2 [Vuli Vosa Vakaviti] which my HOS did in the last entry. Again my sincere apology for not being able to present the SA for Ulamila Nina 2013111808 to the forum. I hope that you will consider this apology.

Thank you.

Dear AO,
•    Please note that a PDF file Titled: Graduation Issues Action by HOD Primary & Secondary in the SOE Folder must be removed from this CEB discussion papers because it was not discussed in the SOE SEB meeting held on Tuesday 10/3/15. If this paper was not discussed in the SEB then it should not be discussed and approved in the CEB. I believe this is a case that should be discussed in the School and College Meetings and not Exam Board meetings.
•    Also note that the minutes of the SOE SEB (10/3/15)meeting is not available and rightfully this makes all the papers presented by SOE null and void.
•    I would also like to point out here that some of the students results being presented by the SOE are of students that have graduated.
•    I  urge every CEB member to please read the documents well before giving your approval. We cannot and should not fast track our decision on important matters like this just to meet some deadlines or due dates.

I’m not approving the papers from SOE.

CELEBRATION SPOILED: Some are alleged to have not finished their required modules for the teaching degree; Fiji National University graduands after the graduation ceremony at the Girmit Centre in Lautoka on Friday, January 9. Photo: ANUSHIL KUMAR.

By SALOTE QALUBAU

A total of about 700 graduands from the Fiji National University gathered at the Girmit Centre Lautoka on Friday, January 9 to celebrate their hard earned achievements.

Minister for Education Heritage and Arts Honourable Dr. Mahendra Reddy was the Chief Guest at the auspicious occasion.

“You will be put in very challenging positions where you will be required to make decisions that personally you will want to make and it will be very difficult for you to make decisions at a personal level and that is the real test of a leader, how you look at the bolder picture, how you put your personally interests and emotions outside the decision making process,” said Dr Reddy.

Graduands were reminded of their crucial role which will be to educate and inspire as well as to mould and develop close to 200,000 students each year through their noble professions.

University acting vice-chancellor Professor Ian Rouse inspired the graduands with his motivational words during the ceremony.

“It’s the inspiration which is  so important because if you can encourage your students to love to learn and they carry that passion from primary school, through secondary and University into working life then Fiji will continue to be a leader in the pacific,” he said.

Professor Rouse thanked the students for making the Fiji National University as their ideal institution to be educated in and further urged them to utilise education as a vital tool in making a difference in the society as a whole. Source: The Jet newspaper

PARENTS: How dare you SEND FNU 'graduates' to teach our children without these graduates having completed their BA in Education?

enough is enough
16/4/2015 01:35:41 pm

this saga is the straw that MUST break the camels back. enough is enough. first, there was Reddys KAMA SUTRA allegations which he consistently and persistently refused to answer despite being afforded several opportunities by Fijileaks.

Now this case of granting FNU "graduates" jobs when none really completed their degree is an appalling indictment on Reddy's integrity and competence, both as former FNU Council member (with his con master Ganesh) and as current MOE.

Fijileaks has been right all way through - Reddy MUST GO. He has no shame and remorse to resign so bai-kai now have no alternative but to sack him. If not, then Fiji international reputation and its education system is at stake.

Students teaching others when they haven't completed their degrees - what is bloody joke!!!

This is just a false assumption..........no teacher can enter classroom without qualification and teacher registration........enough is enough get your facts right. As a teacher i know our minister and his department very well. There is no room for incompetent n lazy teachers, so how can teachers with no qualification enter the classroom........dont underestimate teachers in classroom.....parents cant manage 1 child at home and imagine teachers handling 40 students in just a period.....so without proper training no teacher can handle such a situation.....learn to respect people than just writing shits.

IJ AT ITS BEST
16/4/2015 02:11:01 pm

Bravo Victor, bravo!! Yet again, this new FNU masterpiece of yours is investigative journalism at its very best. First, you gave us reddy's kama sutra. His continued silence means he accepts your claim that he was running both, the Commerce Commission and its tea lady and when caught, asked his mate Ganesh to employ the husband at FNU.

Then, you blew the cover on FNU's former VC and the biggest crook that saw his sacking by his disciple reddy and even forced FICAC's hand in having ganesh charged, despite reddy and khaiyum's concerted attempts of cover up.

And now this FNU "no degree but ok to teach" scandal puts your IJ and your duty to serve the people of Fiji beyond reproach. Once again FT and FS and their respective editors should bow their heads in utter shame and take refresher courses and lessons from you on IJ and much more.

You are true son of Fiji and its people - for you are giving them the information which is the power they need to decide the future of this most corrupt "Government" that we Fijians have ever seen and will ever know in Fiji's entire history.

Long live Fijileaks.

Aptly said and all I can add is this - why have Opposition when we have Fijileaks? Isn't this their job? Assuming they are so incompetent, then cant they still capitalise on Victor Lal's stunning disclosure by raising it in the Parliament and calling for Reddy's head?

All goes to show that the entire Opposition is simply there to line
their pockets. They even don't know how to network with other
Opposition parties in NZ, Australia and other Commonwealth countries to expose this corrupt Government.

Spotlight on Reddy
16/4/2015 04:33:25 pm

I absolutely agree. Reddy should be fired. But notice something about the way he operates. Whenever, the spotlight is on him for abuse of office, misconduct, corruption etc., he cunningly moves it away from the real issues by offering the people something for free, like milk, books etc. He is very, very cunning in how he operates. And until now, he has been getting away with it. He should be fired and soon!

The revelations dont surprise anyone familier with the running of FNU for the past 6 years. There are numerous complaints sitting with Fiji Higher Education Commission, the Prime Ministers office and FICAC. reddy has been very much part of the rot. reddy and ganesh are educated thugs who have been out to commit fraud on the education sector in Fiji. And they got support from - individuals who have power and similar motivation.

Our children have been taught by unqualified teachers. reddy is not practicing what he preaches. His overly positive and his extensive dissemination on a daily basis does not tie up with whats happening on the ground. Address the issues at hand, reddy!

It is indeed a big ask to expect the Fiji Higher Education Commission (FHEC) to investigate. The agency has been led by impotent Dr Richard Wah. The agency itself needs to be independently investigated for its effectiveness, role and directions. How has the impotency of Dr Wah affected the monitoring of higher education in Fiji? Has the buddy relationship (ex-USP) of him with reddy and ganesh come in the way? The ganesh chand charge of abuse of office and FNU in shambles - does it say anything about the monitoring agency FHEC?

Come on reddy, call it quits? Stand you against the wall , you are nothing! Want to be.

what a joke indeed!!!
16/4/2015 05:24:46 pm

What a shambles. What a joke. This can only happen at FNU.

But why just reddy?? Shouldnt people like the current vc ian rouse and the dean of education at fnu also be sacked as well.

This revelation again supports the view that this hopeless aussie no brainer ian rouse was not only rorting the system with ganesh and others, but has been totally incompetent to run FNU, even as acting vc. Him standing side by side reddy and applauding the "graduands" when they did not complete their degree makes a mockery of FNU and Fiji's education system.

Rouse should be sent packing to Australia. The party is well over.

This latest revelation is further evidence that FNUs reputation is now in complete tatters (assuming it had any) and explains why its degrees are not even recognised by NZ and Australia.

Kavita is right - both reddy and ganesh are educated thugs who have been exploiting the illegal government of bai-kai to steal millions from the taxpayers. No wonder poverty is so high in Fiji.

What begun in 2006 is continuing with the bulldozing and legalisation of the strategies thanks to the fool headed voting done by Fijians. The media control, strategic stripping of i-taukei power, pathetic education policies, miserable health system, environmental exploitation by foreigners especially Chinese in mining and logging, infrastructure woes, poor dollar value, increase in poverty, unemployment, encouragement of big businesses to prosper while suffocating small and medium sized businesses, taxing of everything except the air we breath, terrorising and pushing to the wall of media and opposition. Who is benefiting, one wonders; only a handful of handpicked elite who link, sleep, and bribe the 2 top guns. One wonders for how long it will continue. Just how foolish are people of Fiji who can't see beyond short term freebies.

commission of inquiry into fnu
16/4/2015 06:32:19 pm

This latest revelation is more than a good reason to have a judicial or independent commission of inquiry into fnu since its inception. We don't expect the impotent opposition to do anything about this corrupt government. They are a bunch of no hopers.

With fnu embroiled in so many scandals - sacking of ganesh, him being charged by ficac, reddy approving $.5m payment despite ficac raids, naren eloping to nz, rouse and kafoa's credit card spending spree........on, and on, and on....., only an independent inquiry can get to the bottom of all this - only then we will see people coming forward to give evidence without any fear or ramifications.

justice delayed is justice denied.

I am sure USP is not immune from such scandals as well.

Perhaps Fijileaks should expose USP - for God knows what was going on there since bai-kai seized power and with people like the current VC and Janif, there too will be many skeletons in USPs closet.

Only Fijileaks can expose these for the people of Fiji.

Those people who gave completion letters along with Ian Rouse should also be fired. It looks like that Ian Rouse has done more bad than good since taking charge. Those recruitment officers at ministers of education should also be fired as they should have verified the information submitted before posting these students into teacher positions. The whole civil service system is a rot as recruitments are not done on merit but based on race, province, whom you know and how much and what you can offer to those occupying key roles.

It is so easy to pass the blame to someone! Why should the opposition be blamed for the situation the whole country is at present. Every eligible citizen had the right to test his or her voting rights at the polls. Didn't opposition and all other political parties tell everyone during campaign about the dictators and their lies, thuggery, and tactics. Hasnt opposition at every step to-date raise questions and oppose moves made by the regime. When citizens do not understand the meaning of democracy and difference between truth, lies, trust and cunningness, they deserve to suffer since they didn't vote for a strong opposition. Good luck. Now sit back and cry over the split milk. This is just the beginning. In the remaining time before the next election these FF suckers will make each and every citizen of this country ( and even those not yet born) indebt while Baini and his family, AG and those around him will enjoy their life in Hongkong, somewhere in Middle East or in a paradise of their choice.

I think here everyone is missing that the Head of School that time (Hem Chand) approved the graduation of the students just by seeing their GPA's when he was threatened by students for not taking any actions of not offering the units that were left for them to graduate. I think he should be sacked from FNU as he has very much abused his position when he was HOS. He approved students who have failed their form 7 to get into teaching.

The commentator of "the reality" looks like a person whose mind has been overtaken by aliens. How can you assert with credibility that opposition has at every step opposed and questioned the government's policies. Their did not have any credible response to the Budget, despite having Lord Biman - the biggest economic brain of Fiji. His economic rumblings made other south economists wonder where he got his degree from.

True the opposition has opposed everything but they do it for the sake of doing it - simply going thru the motions and almost all have itaukei spin to it. Racist and divisive.
