When a culture of bullying and ill- treatment of a whole nation of people gets entrench at the State level it is to be expected that " leaders " who have embraced that culture will replicate it at their own community and institutional level. From this conceptual perspective the situation at FNU is not unique. We have had the same at USP and other institutions . That culture has scant regard for human rights, workers rights anybody's rights. It has no genuine regard for or commitment to due process as well. Look around you will see numerous examples of this in the " new Fiji ".

Even when Vimals father was set to go for first medical treatment, he was just a temporary staff and his temporary contract expired. One of the senior mangers confronted this at the approval time but he was told to stay quite.

FNU is full of bully, ill treatment and nepotism as well as favouritism. Ordinary staff and junior staff are bullied and ill treated whereas cronies are promoted and given pay rise. One such big bully is Head of School Language and Literature Zakia Ali. Those who question her gets supressed and tortured when their performance is reviewed and their contract is not renewed when their term expires hence the deserving employees in this particular school are victimised due to Zakia's influence. The Dean as usual is defunct and sleeping most of the time.
