FRANKLY SPEAKING: SODELPA must admit it ran a WEAK campaign, PDP arrogantly remained detached from United Front for Democratic Fiji and FLP led by a $2million tax convict, giving FFP the upper hand in Election - plus FRAUD & pro regime media!

COMING SOON

WHEN my own BROTHER told me in a phone call that he was switching his voting intention at the last minute and will be voting for FIJIFIRST PARTY, all my gentle warnings to SODELPA campaign apparatchiks and top leadership came true: 'PLEASE stop parroting about chiefs, church, GCC, qoliqoli, and land and indigenous rights. A vast majority of urban and progressive commoner Fijians, especially native Fijian youth voters, are not interested in these issues. And worst, it will frighten the hell out of voters. Native Fijians, Indo-Fijians and Others will conclude that a vote for SODELPA on these issues will translate to a vote for another COUP. After all, these were the issues which Frank Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum cited as reason, and the need in 2006, to oust the SDL-FLP coalition government.'

THE RESPONSE from one firebrand Johnny-Come-Lately SODELPA campaigner to me: 'JUST SHUT UP. You and Aiyaz are cut from from same cloth - closet Indo-Fijian nationalists.' He reminded me of all the opinion columns I have written on the above issues, most highly critical of those i-taukei institutions. 'Kai, Aiyaz is simply putting into action what you and other Indo-Fijians have been advocating for years - to reduce us to second-class citizens.'

But election, I told him and others, is about winning and not playing the Indigenous or Race Card, especially when the voters had been living under a brutal dictatorship for the last eight years. I will return to SODELPA. To my BROTHER NOW. 'Why are you bloody voting for FFP which has put me on the list of banned persons from entering Fiji after I had revealed that Bainimarama's then Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry was hiding $2million in his secret bank account?'

His reply: "Bhai, just look at what SODELPA is offering us. It is a recipe for another COUP. No way I am going to vote for them or other parties which seem to be in cahoots with them. They all ran away after 2006 coup. What guarantee is there that these chaps will stand up for us? I have changed my mind. I am voting for FijiFIRST Party. It does not mean that I am endorsing your banning order nor that I am supporting Frank and Aiyaz. I am voting for the Devil I know for the last eight years in this election. Sorry bhai. I know I am letting you down.' He had reason to fear another coup.

He has lived through 'four and a half COUPS' in Fiji.  I said: 'It is your choice but you will live to regret it. It will mean if FFP wins, you will not see me in Fiji for the next four years. The entry ban will most likely to continue against me.'  Fijileaks Editor: To be continued!

"For eight years we have been silenced, only to witness othe races swear and insult our chiefs and belittle our traditions. For the last eight years we have been denied the freedom of our religion and we have witnessed the constant erosion of our culture and the destruction of our society, as determined by people of other races living here in Fiji...Now when we choose to engage in a voting process to  determine our government, we are again being silenced by other races" -
Jese Sikivou on Rajendra Chaudhry's Facebook

SOME SODELPA 'LEOPARDS' DON'T CHANGE THEIR STRIPES:
It is time to STOP  blaming other RACES for 'Destruction of our culture and society'; such attacks are gross insult to those Indo-Fijians who have stood up to Dictatorship in Fiji.

WAS BAINIMARAMA RIGHT TO PUT A STOP TO SUCH
RACIST VERBAL ABUSE AGAINST OTHER RACES?

It is highly likely that over 40% of I-taukei Liu Muried SODELPA and voted for FijiFirst Party - the party could not have WON without massive native Fijian votes, not to mention army, police and navy votes!

Yea, just admit it - you and Aiyaz are terrorists from 1987 - now your dreams have come true. I hope Frank will give you a position in his government.
Hurrah!

People voted for FF because they were the best of the lot. Some say best of the worst but best nonetheless.

Victor
You are correct
I am no FFP supporter nor supporter of any party in particular but if I had to vote I would have vote FFP as they talked about one inclusive Fiji, development, moving forward and a vision as opposed to SODELPA talk on race, chiefs, use if word Fijian. SODELPA did not offer any new ideas
NFP offered new ideas but they were weak ideas and I think Biman was too green and did not articulate his ideas well
Sitting in Canada I could sense the change in the electorate and when you take into consideration 30% of voters were youth then they are not interested in race based politics but they are interested in the new economy
Is it safe to say that the next election in 4 years will be fought over the economy, jobs, development policies instead of race
By the way SODELIA needs a strong visionary leader
RTKepa was too weak of a leader

Vinaka Victor!

I have to say that the the people of Fiji have spoken and I think if the stupid behaviour of losing parties was witnessed by the public before the election, then the result may have been 90% to Fiji First. Shame on Kepa, Beddoes and did everyone see Chaudhary? His face was red of shame! Labour will not even be in Parliament and it is all his fault!

What really made me angry was how racist this eleciton has been? Fiji First have just been talking about one thing - one country, one fiji ... not this bullshit Fijian or itaukei or the land ... just about creating one united nation for everyone to live with peace and harmony. They talked about economic issues and issues for progress. Their campaign is similar to what they do here in Australia and all the overseas countries.

The rest are full of shit and chose to talk and campaign like they used to in 1980s. The world has progressed.

I am happy that they have all lost. They don't even deserve to be in Parliament. But unfortunately, some seat will be occupied.

I was also told by my friends that majority of youth have voted for Fiji First - I am happy ... this means that there is a bright future for Fiji.

God bless Fiji.

Vinaka.

Its true that Fiji wants leaders who deliver. Everyone voted for better future. Discriminatory policies are not of any help. Fijians don't want GCC. Indians don't want land and qoliqoli issues. Workers don't feel that losing rights matters much as they want day to day decent living. So be it. The big policies didn't work if there is uncertainity. Better choose those who have power and authority and that time the fancy words don't count. Who did what doesnot apply now,its who will do things count. Take It On!

Thank you Victor for your frank and honest views. I appreciate your tremendous contribution to exploring the truth wherever it is. The people have voted, based on what they believe is right and good for themselves and the nation.

As you know, generally, people always see whatever they want to see. Only a few people will be able to decipher the truth and see beyond the veil of lies, deceit, deception and propaganda. The first is natural, while the second requires a logical mind, clear thinking and a pure heart.

It is so sad that many of our citizens have been victims of the first kind. They suffer from the Stockholm syndrome, after more than 7 years of propaganda and mind control, coupled with a vicious and subtle scheme of intimidation, violence, coercion, psychological manipulation and a constant bombardment of lies and deception of the worst kind Fiji has ever experienced.

The irrrefutable truth is that Voreqe and Khaiyum are two proud, arrogant, deceitful and dangerous evil men. They have blatantly controlled this country and committed unspeakable crimes. They have never told us the truth, yet they continue to lead a mass of cult followers who are satisfied with the free bread and music like the pied piper of Hamlin. Just like that pied piper story, the people are so mesmerised that they followed the piper to their deaths without realizing it. I surely hope and pray that the truth will be fully revealed and that the BaiKhai cult followers can be rescued in time before it is too late.

It is true that SODELPA may had run a weak campaign given the time that political parties other than FFP were permitted to do so. Time constraints and the finances to travel everywhere were limited. And for SODELPA to manage almost 30% of the total votes as of now is an achievement. Ro Teimumu and her parliamentarians are qualified people in finances and legal matters. Parliamentarians from other parties are also qualified people who have been empowered also by the people through the Bhai's and Khai's 2013 constitution, which was not allowed to pass through a national referendum.

Contrarily, FFP had more than 7 years to use government facilities and properties to campaign and to use assistances from donor sovereign countries to use as freebies to buy votes. It will be very interesting to note how they will offer a transparent means to meet their agenda. They will have to find ways to pay off debts to those countries from whom they borrowed funds to pay for their campaign strategies.

Bainimarama and Khaiyum will now have to show the citizens who voted for them and who also did not vote for them the promised Auditor General's Reports which have been kept hidden for 8 years.

The new government will now have to try to withstand many more and much more criticisms than they have been used to. They cannot just take critics to the barracks and have them "taken to task" as has become their favourite expression.

Hello Tualeita
Yeah your comments make sense and even though FPP had 7 years of campaign behind them SOLDEPA and all the other parties for that matter still in my humble opinion did not articulate and talk about what and how they will take Fiji forward and make it a progressive modern state
Yes you are correct at least with approx. 15 seats to SOLDEPA in Parliament we will have a credible opposition and SODELPA has a huge role to keep the government on their toes, revel all the lies and hold them accountable
Just realized that for the first time in Fiji history we will have a Fijian PM and Fijian Opposition leader, as it always has been Fijian PM , Indian Opposition leader or Indian PM (Chaudhry) and Fijian Opposition leader at that time in Ratu Inoke

SODELPA AND NFP and other now have to look at the next election and present a progressive eplatofrms, governments do change and people like change so let FFP bask in their victory as one day people will look for a change and if SODELPA and NFP paly it right they can be the change and government in waiting
I do hope SODELPA will not boycott Parliament and protest their allegation on election being rigged by not taking the seats, I suggest they go in, take their seats and become a thorn in governments side and slowly reveal and ask for the truth and hold FFP accountable

the masses are not interested in deep thinking. they prefer to have a cult hero ( regarded as a saviour/messiah) think for them. they like to keep things simple and uncomplicated. they just follow the cult leader. he knows ALL the answers. Bainimarama and Khaiyum have presented themselves as such cult leaders and the masses have flocked to them en mass. that's the way it is with religious cults. and, that's the way it is with political cults - nazism, fascism, communism, militarism...

Victor, you are absolutely correct, that the opposition parties did not run a strong campaign. But please, let us be realistic and fair. The regime made sure about that by the way they stage managed the whole elections system and processes. I said systems and processes because both determine the freedom and fairness of the
elections and the final outcomes

Everything about this election was conceived and structured to give Bai-Khai party the "victory". From the illegal constitution imposed on the people, media decrees, control of the press and information flows, public freedoms to assemble and meet, party registrations, declaration of assets, one day voting, electoral commission, elections supervisor, ballot papers, eleventh hour changes in decrees, court cases against our former PMs, election observers, non participation of NGOs on voter education, suppression of AG's reports, etc This is why we had predicted Bai's win long before the election. The opposition had no time, lacked the resources and the freedom to mount an effective campaign. They had to make do with whatever they had and they did well under those very stringent circumstances. The cloud of fear, anxiety, intimidation, was always hanging above them. Both the environment and the key factors favoured Voreqe. The election was already fixed. Let us stop beating around the bush.

But the question is where are we heading? What ought we to do? We already know where Fiji is heading. And it is not a good place at all for the people and the Government. But for Voreqe and Khaiyum, they are now legitimate leaders, immune from their crimes, not really accountable to the people, have another four years of rule.

But for us the people, our destination is also known and we are already on our way there, if we use current economic statistics to provide us our GPS. The tragedy is many of our citizens do not understand history enough to appreciate what we have been telling them

The most frightening reality I see is that by allowing Bai and Khai to assume legitimate control through their stage managed election, we as a nation are legitimising thug rule and all its ugly trappings we have witnessed so far in the last 7 years. People might see this election as a pathway to democracy. I see it as a sure pathway to greater exploitation of the people, even worse tyranny and the legal destruction of many institutions and structures that has once made Fiji a wonderful country. Just think about it. They have the majority vote in Parliament. They will now bring their stage managing experience to Parliament. They will have their way and they do not need any other opposition member to vote with them. Yes there will be motions tabled and discussed, but that will be tokenistic gestures of the democratic kind to give their rule a semblance of respectability. As said correctly by Kainoqu and others, the AG’s reports will be passed without fail. Similarly, all the other bills such as the Land Bank and others that the great AG Khaiyum will author.

This is what I mean by the destruction of institutions and structures. It began with the destruction of the security forces (Military, Police, Prisons ), the Civil Service, Statutory Bodies, President's office, PM;s Office, Judiciary, the Fourth Estate, Parliament, GCC, Fijian Affairs, NLTB, and Parliament itself. Parliament will exist only to advance the cause and agenda of Bai and Khai. It will no longer be there for the people of Fiji. Welcome to the new Fiji.

These two people have conspired to protect themselves and their conspirators for as long as they live, and they will stop at nothing, even at the cost of destroying people’s lives and freedoms and rights and the national economy and our future. So unless we the people do something to challenge their rule in a more effective way, the question of where are we heading is already clearly outlined. The sad thing about this is that the people of Fiji have brought this unto themselves and it this very same reason that Bai and Khai will be much stronger now because they have the resounding support and approval of the people.

Nevertheless, there is a God in heaven. Our ultimate hope is in Him. His word echoes throughout the universe of men and leadership and humanity.

“There is way that seemeth right unto a man, and the end thereof leads to death”

When we as people choose a pathway, whether economic, social or political, that is contrary to God’s excellent purpose and design, the ultimate end is death. Death is the absence of life, and can therefore be defined as a life where we still exist, but an existence without joy, peace and fulfilment. Our path to death began many years ago. We are many years into this regressive journey. A few days ago, many people thought we had the opportunity to alter our direction. How sadly mistaken they were. How can Fiji change direction when the same thugs and evil men have always been in control and the w
