This kind of reminds you of that famous Abraham Lincoln ( 16 th US President, 1809 - 1865 ) quote :
"You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time".
Clearly some of the people, as this public protest by Fijians living in the US illustrates, have not been fooled by Frank Bainimarama's "clean up " coup and what followed in the crafting of " new Fiji " and "true democracy " in their home country.
These Fijians living abroad are for sure keeping a close tab on politics back home.

Every coupist has his cronies and sycophants, both at home and abroad. And, often being the narcissistic sort they tend to be the coupist begin to believe they are loved and admired by everyone.
Not so. Every coupist has critics - thinking people who don't get taken in by the bullshit coming from the mouth of the coupist, this protest by Fijians in Amerika is evidence of that.

Well said Chiku. Lest we forget, the arrest and subsequent indictment of dictators like Pinochet ought to be a potent and timely reminder to Bainimarama, A-SK- and their cronies that no matter what lengths they will go to hide their atrocities, truth will always prevail ("NA DINA GA"...) one day - and the day of reckoning now appear imminent for these thugs!!

Rape, torture, fraud, abuse of power, theft......you name it, these bastards are guilty of it. And if A-S-K and his ilk belief that simply putting an immunity clause in the Constitution will save their arse, then yet again its axiomatic that A-S-K has purchased his law degree from timbuktu!

As they say, there can never be a statute of limitation on crimes. Its still not too late for Bai-Kai to plead guilty... the courts will take their early pleas in mitigation in their sentencing!

Editor,
Protesting State Repression
Over 250 people have been arrested in anti- Putin protest taking place in some 80 cities across Russia ( abc news 8/10 ). The protesters want the jailed Opposition leader Alexy Navalny who is to be released in two weeks time to contest for the Presidency in the elections in March next year. His jailing is widely seen as a political ploy to rule him out of the election.
Since his announcement to contest for the presidency there has been frequent raids on Opposition offices and arrest of opposition activists.
But the State repression has not deterred the protests .
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

Thank you Victor for this news. It's encouraging to know that our constant condemnation and updates on what is really happening in our country provides a counterbalance of the regime lies and propaganda that things are better in Fiji. Generally, our people who have moved or migrated often are people who are educated and less gullible to political deceit and hypocrisy. The banners show that people are aware of the truth and are reminding the dictators and their cronies that they will never be fooled. The world is watching us from a distance. The day of reckoning will surely come.

Fijians living in the United States of America - the land of the free where the even the President must abide by the country's constitution - invites coupist Frank Bainimarama who trashed the constitution of his country to unlawfully grab and hold political power to be chief guest at Fiji Day Celebrations. Tells you a great deal about the mental makeup of these Fijians.
Enjoying democracy in America and supporting a rogue leader who raped democracy in Fiji.
Blerry intellectual imbeciles.

Those who did not migrate to Australia shouldn't have right to keep the $2m purported to be given for migration to Australia for safety, but then he took part in 2001 elections.

So was the money really given for his migration to Aussie purpose.

Editor,
Ready to Fight For What's Right
In her NBC Meet the Press interview ( 8/10 ) Democrat Congresswoman Diane Frentein said " I am ready to fight. There are a lot of things to fight for" by way of confirming she'd be going for reelection.
She has been a steadfast campaigner for gun control among other things.
Society - any society anywhere - will go down the toilet if it does not have people who are prepared to fight for the public good.
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

Kudos to our countrymen overseas who are not as blinded as those that love reading the Fiji Snub or fijivillage.com because they know all too well the truth in relation to so-called "democracy" disguising a dictatorship in reality.

Such a shame that people here at home can't enjoy protesting rights as these former residents who demand answers from Frankie, his boyfriend Ayarse, and the rest of his cronies.

Attorney-General and Minister of E and presently acting PM Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum said " former citizens such as New Zealand cardiologist Dr Parma Nand and Dr Aleem Shah were prime examples of former citizens returning to Fiji to perform free open heart surgeries". ( ' Door open to former citizens, says A-G' Fiji Times 9/10 ).
What has Khaiyum or Bainimarama performed for free since their power grab? What kind of public money has gone into their pockets since their unexpected good luck in becoming national political leaders?
Overseas former Fiji citizens do things for altruistic reasons. Because their heart is with their home country and its people. Nothing altruistic about what Khaiyum and Bainimarama have been doing, is there?
It's all about money - big money, in their case. Just look what the power grab has done FOR THEM!

Editor,
State Brutality
People protesting the Kenyan government's plan to make it harder for the court to annul an election result were shot at by the Kenyan police. One protester summed up the sentiments of the protesters. He said " Kenya is a democracy. We have the right to protest. Why are we being shot at? The president should not order the police to do that " ( Aljazeera news 10/10 ).
We recall the Kenyan Supreme Court had recently nullified the incumbent president's election win and ordered a re-election.
Why is the Kenyan State trying to interfere in the court's role?
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu
