Interim Electoral Commission chairperson Barbara Malimali denies making a complaint against acting Supervisor of Elections Ana Mataiciwa. Ms Malimali says the issue has been blown out of proportion while adding that people need to “calm down” and let people do their job.
The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Barbara Malimali has confirmed, that the letter that she had written to the Constitutional Offices Commission, was not to remove Ana Mataiciwa from her position as the Acting-Supervisor of Elections.
This comes after it was alleged that a letter from Malimali was hand-delivered to the Constitutional Offices Commission last Tuesday, requesting that Mataiciwa be replaced by a former chairman of the Electoral Commission, as the substantive Supervisor of Elections.
