Bainimarama took over power and claimed he was going to bring about a paradigm change in the way the country was run. So what dramatic change has he brought about during his 8 year rule in the Fijian Army - a nearly wholly ethnic Fijian army - apart from giving the top brass good perks and the foot soldiers a bit more crumbs?

As for Indians in Fiji, they cannot fight their own problems in Fiji so how will they become soldiers in the RFMF. Equal citizenry in this sense is a big farce.

correction : the Fijian soldiers are not putting their lives on the line for world peace anywhere. they are there to pick up the good money the UN gives for its perfunctory assignments.

It is a mere off shore employment opportunity at off shore dollar value. No genuine peace keeping in their mind.

fiji indians fighting in the army....same thing happened in WW2, they were after rights and equality from the brits and ignored the defence of the nation.
