*The British High Commissioner to Fiji, Roderick Drummond, had delivered the two messages to Bainimarama-Khaiyum government three days after Cyclone Winston

Bainimarama and Khaiyum have cast themselves as anti- British colonialism and have set out to SELECTIVELY remove vestiges of it - like the Union Jack . But the Fijian Navy wallahs doll up in the same fancy attire as their British counterparts and even the same colonial type dinner jackets.

ohhh.....I thought Britain was going to finance the bringing of indentured labourers from Syria and Iraq to assist in the rebuilding of Fiji. Maybe Victor can fill us in on that as well since he has close association with the British empire.

We have to make Fiji whole - again! "Freedom does not come free, it is expensive" (Dr Martin Luther King) and an elaboration of what was said about America (sic) only yesterday by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Wholeness implies and requires integrity: of purpose, of action. And actions speak louder than words. "The weight of this sad time we must obey. Speak what we feel, not what we ought to say. The oldest hath borne most; we that are young shall never see so much nor live so long".

You can understand Frank and Khaiyum's angst against the UK, the Queen and old jug ears himself the Prince of Wales when you look back at Frank's anti Australia, New Zealand and UK stance following his coup and following the sham elections when he assumed a democratic mask. Under his Look North policy he ran to China, courted Iran at a time when it was developing nuclear weapons to threaten Israel, the US and its western allies, he flew to Moscow to sign a cooperation agreement that has seen the delivery of the first of two arms shipment to Fiji, Then Cyclone Winston comes along and without a shot being fired Frank is put in a situation where he is forced to allow Australian and New Zealand military assets into our ports and internal waters to deliver much needed humanitarian aid to our suffering people. Its a moral victory to these two neighbours of ours. We don't see naval ships from Iran, China or Russia helping our people out in this time of difficulty. This is the reason Frank is pissed off. Winston has shown that Fiji cannot do without our neighbours and this is why the vindictive Fiji Prime Minister and his AG are silently grinding their teeth.

Yes, what have the Poms contributed so far? We don't need messages from the Queen and 'jug ears'. We need material support. Which, to my mind, confirms the need for Fiji to jettison the Union Jack from our flag.

Vili do you even know and understand why the other super powers are not interested in the old AK47's, RPG's and other old Soviet style weapons? .. There is a reason why they are still being sort after in the 3rd world. They are cheap! Secondly they do not meet that demand of accuracy and efficiency bro! If you're still confused, Google engine bro. People say it's state of the art weapons! Seriously?? Prob it's only state of the art because it's not being used back home. Even the guys back home know that their standard personal weapon is better than the AK's

Sorry Henry but the weapons the Russian gave were AK74's not the old AK47. Go check your facts before preaching to me.

What have the British contributed to Fiji? Very much what we are today, our common English language, our acceptable manners, our european attire, the living standards, Parliament and all its related fixtures (definitely NOT corruption and blatant abuse of power), preservation of our own racial cultures and traditions, the museum, library, archives and the norms of everyday living in harmony. What have we in Fiji contributed...apart from racial divisions, distrust, corrupt officials, rejected parliamentarians, destruction of natural resources and habitas, Ministers hiding from the law, MPs whose wages are hidden from public viewing and so forth??...let's just be thankful that we always had and still have the opprtunity to improve upon what the British gave (even if we eventually change the fiji flag to that of a banana climbing a coconut tree). We are the people of Fiji and today we stand together to help each other and be thankful for whatever country is helping out and individuals sacrificing - one thing about Winston, he was not racially biased; the prick!!..cyclone that is

Thank you Dekho and friends for re-educating our people such as Vili. The question he posed, "What have the Poms done for Fiji? " speaks volumes about his ignorance about Fiji's history and its critical importance to the present and future of our nation. Such is the ignorance and blindness of Bai and Khai and all their followers.

Must be one of those numbskull, ill-informed, blind as a bat, half educated, nitwit who is so dense upstairs that he cannot cannot distinguish between right and wrong. How then can he ever begin to understand and see the contributions of the Poms to these three hundred island nation of ours?
