HIGH ON MORPHINE? JINGLE BELL, PATIENTS SMELL: A Festive Song that was meant for a laugh or was it crass stupidity on part of nurses?

Fijileaks: Keep Calm and Nightingale On. We don't think they should lose their jobs. It was all in the spirit of Christmas, which went a bit too far, in insulting the dignity of the patients in their care.
They should be reprimanded for their crass stupidity

SPECIAL ADVISER TO THE PRIME MINISTER OF ETHIOPIA, DR TEDROS ADHANOM GHEBREYESUS VISITS HEALTH FACILITIES

The Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus arrived in the country this morning and visited the CWM Hospital and the Valelevu Health Centre.

Dr Ghebreyesus, who is a candidate for the post of Director-General of the World Health Organization, expressed his delight at the opportunity to meet with senior health officials at the two hospitals.

Dr Ghebreyesus witnessed first-hand the kind of services provided at the hospitals here and some of the challenges faced in the sector.

“I met with the permanent secretary for the Ministry of Health and discussed some of the challenges faced. Strengthening primary health care is vital and that is what the Fijian Government is doing. This will address major health problems in the country,” Dr Ghebreyesus said.

“Having 1000 nursing stations at the front line is very important because it’s through these nursing stations that health officials can reach out to the communities and teach people how to prevent the major non-communicable diseases.”

Dr Ghebreyesus said the Fijian Government’s policy in relation to primary health care and prevention is commendable. Source: Fiji Government

These nurses are probably over worked and lowly paid so having a bit of fun with colleagues at Xmas with a sing along should be viewed as just that...in hindsight they should perhaps have posted the video with a declaration stating that no patient was harm in the process of making of it😊😊😊

There is no justification of this kind of behavior. Not all patients are admitted by their choice and I think all nurses involved have have grossly humiliated pain and suffering of patients. If they feel are being overworked and underpaid, in reality this is happening all over the world including developed countries like USA, Japan, Australia, NZ to name a few. Minister should take some serious measures and discipline accordingly to serve as a reminder to those would be doers.

Why voicing your comments recomnending the minister to discipline these nurses. They should be recommended for a pay rise.
And dont compare their under paid with the developed countries that you have mentioned as they are well paid. For instance Australian nurses are paid 35-40$ an hour with loadings on weekends and night shifts. Double rates during public holidays. Whereas in Fiji.... ask the minister.....feel sorry for their sacrifice and hard work. And Always get your facts right.....you dump-ass..

Eddy,

If the Minister is saying its wrong, who are you to justify what they did was right for being underpaid and working long hours. Is this how you voice your grievances, don't you have union and labour departments? Its typical of Fijians like you, when going gets tough lets blame the whole world for our problem. Change your career and get a job that pays your desired wage or salary. They knew what they were getting into when going through training. Why humiliate poor patent and what they ate after singing was put on the by the very patients they humiliated. Come on mate, you can't be that blind and stupid, blame your leader for coups and dragging your sorry country back into caves and civilization. No matter how much people try to defend and justify these idiot nurses, there is no greener pasture for them in any developed country as it will haunt them for the rest of their sorry lives. Get me scumbag.

Any right minded person will read between the line of the nurse intention. They may unintentionally meant to hurt the patients feeling with their funny lyric creativity to enjoy their breakup party, however, they should becareful at the same time that don't create this unprofessional scene where the public now knows. They are paid by the government to service the Public in health care meaning families, friends, loveones, children and adult a like. Now they have tarnish their reputation in public and they need to apologize for it.

Hardly an expectation to be reasonably entertained when reports suggest grave shortcomings all round. Would you subject yourself voluntarily to such unprofessional and tasteless treatment? One rather thinks not! It will take more than HOPE to cure this morbidity!

This is supposed to be a light hearted joke and the views of the nurses in the jingle do not seem to be genuine. They should not be reprimanded harshly but they definitely need more training in workforce code and ethic.

Jingle bell, Batman smells, Robin flew away
Uncle Billy lost his w..ly on the motorway hey!

Cheer up people, apart from keyboard warriors here no patients had made any complaint.

And I'll await any complain from the super heroes....

The MoH have more serious and pressing issues to worry about then a few nurses finding their jingle over a Xmas meal.

Hey Lewis
Pissed off with your comments. Your dont count these nurses a bunch of lunatic. Get sick one day and go to a hospital to find no nurse (whom you call lunatics) will want to attend to you. You will end up kissing your own a..
They have degrees to qualify for their profession.
Why worry about the Flag, that is just a piece of cloth which you can use to wipe your a.. with.
Don't show your stupidity thru those comments but have some respects on them.

Mate truth hurts isn't it...they are bunch of lunatics so mental that they uploaded their own destruction. Any person holding credible Degree would be smart enough not to do this. I wont be surprised if you are the main idiot leader hiding under the name of rocky...Ulukau....Everyone knows how easy it is to get a degree in Fiji....hahahah...and am sure these bunch of lunatics got it the same way...under the table.... I feel sorry for your comments especially those who rose to fame and sacrificed their lives for Fiji Flag. I am sure that you are the only lunatic who has this view... You parents have done a horrible job raising you...and I am sure your comments on flag will make them proud....Ulukau....

You seemed to know quiet so well about how people getting their degrees in Fiji, ie, from under the table.
Evidently showed that you probably one of those.
If not then get your facts right. I for one who dont give a damn shit of that piece of cloth you talking about. Because it does not bring me anything to where I am right now. I dont have a degree, you probably have one.
Thats what your idiot thinking telling you that I am part of the group....no Im not and I do not know anyone in the group. But for you to call them a bunch of lunatics is so disgusting ....shame on you.
Your comments just show the type of person you are. I'd rather commit myself for my people ...not for the flag your dump ass talking about.
You are probably a lunatic and thats why you're calling those nurses to be like you. Never point a fingure at someone becoz 3 pointing back at you.
Always Get your facts right.

Why so concern about these nurses. They are too good with their works. This is just a session of their chity-chat funs or probably just any kind of jokes that they could have fun with during their breaks during this festive seasons. They do not even created the lyrics as it has been in the internet for years. They should be praised for their nursing works which they never ever complained about it.
I bet everyone does this similar types of jokes. Their professionalism and loyalty still remains.
Why waste taxpayers money to investigate this issue. It's their private issue why we have to bother...please!!
