Clause 28.28:   ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
(1) The Annual General Meeting of Fiji Rugby Union shall be held on a
date fixed by the Board of Directors for the purposes of:
(a) Receiving the Annual Report and Statement of Accounts of Fiji Rugby Union and the Annual Audit and Compliance Report for the past Financial Year;
(b) Electing persons to fill any vacancy in the offices of President, Trustee or Director;
(c) Appointing an Auditor; and
(d) Considering any other business of which a least thirty days’
notice shall be given in writing to the Chief Executive.
(2) Members shall be given at least twenty-one days’ notice of the date of an Annual General Meeting and the Meeting shall be held no later than the last week of April in each year.
(3) The Annual Report of Fiji Rugby Union shall be prepared by the Board of Directors and together with the Annual Statement of Accounts of Fiji Rugby Union duly audited and the Annual Audit and Compliance Report shall be circulated among the members so as to be received by them at least seven days before the date fixed for the meeting.
(4) Notices of resolutions for the Annual General Meeting must be in the hands of the Chief Executive at least thirty days before the meeting.

Fijileaks Editor: The reason for moving the date was not made clear, and announced a day before the schedule. We would hazard a guess that the audit/accounts were not in place. Either way technically Saturday's proposed AGM is illegal under the FRU 'Constitution' which was amended in 2010.

In KuKu Land rules can be bent anytime and any which way the coup makers and their cronies everywhere - including rugby - deem appropriate.
That is the hallmark of the Coup Coup Land.
So no surprises here regarding this rugby departure from the established rules...
departure from the rules is the norm in KuKu Land!!

it is quite clear now that to become a Prime Minister one has to aim to becoming the head of the Army or even second or third in command. All you have to do is stage a coup in the name of protecting the country, change the constitution to enshrine immunity,torture people to frighten the shit out of them so they don't retaliate, distribute money and do some roads etc,form a party and run for election to legitimise yourself.All these democratic bullshit, good governance, transparency, accountability etc does not matter. The international community will eventually accept you after initial rejection.People have no choice anymore the people with guns have all the power.

Frank just to save himself did all these just to save himself from jail otherwise the CRW were going to meet him in jail. Frank was the guy the Speight was waiting to show up after he took over parliament. He pulled out when he found out there was no support from people. So he went against the CRW and jailed the, THAT IS WHY THERE WAS A MUTINY because the CRW soldiers were let down. In effect Frank liumuiri them. All that has now put the country in so much shit that it is hard to even come back and have a democracy. So Frank knows what he has done. The others who joined in are not to be blamed but they were all opportunists.

Strictly speaking the Constitution is not what is followed in a coup country. It is the whim of the coup leader. The rugby gang know what to follow!!

USP an apparatus of the regime
12/5/2014 04:37:53 am

Dr Esther Williams has become the regime's plant in FRU. Ashwin Raj the MIDA chairman is the plant in the media. VC Rajesh Chandra keeps tabs on academia and controls it. This shows that USP is an important apparatus of the regime. Rajesh Chandra is providing crucial intellectual support and personal for the coup effort. All who criticise the regime are sent packing from USP, like Wadan Narsey, Biman Prasad, Lynda Tabuya. Rajesh Chandra is discriminating, persecuting and applying double standards.

I came across this quote in a letter in today's Sydney Morning Herald . Shouldn't be too hard to make the relevant connection I think.
" Whenever a man has cast a longing eye on offices, a rottenness begins in his conduct"- Thomas Jefferson.
