Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has rubbished claims that he chartered a flight to Singapore for his medical treatment. Sayed-Khaiyum left Fiji on a Fiji Airways flight. Speaking to FBC News from Singapore, the Minister for Economy says claims that he chartered a flight are baseless and mere conspiracy theories.

“The other connected issue is that while the Minister has cleared that he is paying for his treatment, it has not been clarified as to who is paying for his travel costs to and from Singapore. There is speculation that a Fiji Airways flight was specially chartered to fly him to Singapore. The public must be given full details of his travel arrangements, the costs involved and the source from which it is to be paid."
