Now, Latifa Investments Ltd file is missing from the Registrar of Companies office; Midlife Investments Ltd file is another one missing - sources say Aiyaz Khaiyum is hiding both family files in his office!

Mark my word the same thing will happen with the PS appointments.people who suck up to Khaiyum and Bainimarama will get appointed. This is the new " merit " system in the "new Fiji " created by these megalomaniacs.

Nothing new here.

Remember in Ratu Mara's days when Jimmy Ah Koy was on just about every board ?

Good point Chiku but didn't A-S-K, the minister for everything said months ago that he has advertised for all PS jobs overseas so there is a quality pool of local and overseas candidates.

Or like everything else, A-S-K made another bogus statement to the public. Men or men, this guy has no shame, guilt, remorse, morals, values.........

And on the issue of morality and public interest, where the hell is the CCF - the crusader of all these things?? Shame on it, and the Fiji Times and Sun.

One thing that Bainimarama and Khaiyum can take credit for since their reign in power is the rise in the " laalchi kutha " population in Fiji.

Dear Editor,

these must be very desperate dogs if they're latching on to any bones dangled in front of them; the bones being the appointment to boards.

Each board member barely makes $1000 from these appointments and must attend meetings in their own transport at their cost.

I personally believe that board members should not be appointed but should apply through advertisements that should be published in the dailies. This way it ensures that everyone has a chance to apply and be selected based on their merit and ability to serve as effective members.

Board appointments are Political Appointments. It is used for political patronage. The ruling elite recruits ELITES from other sectors of society - people who are already rich and well heeled who have a vested interest in supporting the status quo. These people are indeed desperate for board appointments because it enhances their public profile and status and gives them a sense of being powerful people as well.
The money they get is not important for them. But greed remember has no ceiling. And these people tend to be the greedy kind. This is why they are prepared to suck up to Khaiyum to get appointed.

Yet, if Fiji were to grow a pair and decide to evolve, they could follow Australia and have elections for voting in board directors.

One overseas fala who has earned the requisite merit under the new system favoured by Khaiyum and Bainimarama is Sylvester Joseph, the guy who had come all the way from Canada to campaign for the Fiji First Theft Party.
He could easily become a PS under the new system.

Well said "Dehko". Indeed there are 2 extremes, one like Sly Joseph who just came here to line his pocket and have a good
holiday.

Then, there are those like Andrew Singh, who came to do real service to his motherland and when spotted outright fraud by Ganesh Chand and his cronies at FNU, had no fear and put his life in danger by blowing their cover in reporting the matter to FICAC.

And what S-A-K did???? Like Bala, he directed FICAC to drag the chain so his mate chor Ganesh does not have to face the full brunt of the law - simply because ganesh writes S-A-Ks budget and other economic manifestos of this chor government.

God help Fiji.

Our memory is indeed so weak....just slightly over a year ago ASK advertised the post of Independent "Supervisor of Elections".What happened was some very qualified and experienced candidates applied.Than what happened,ASK made his cousin M.Saneem the SOE ahead of well qualified personnel.Saneem had not even completed his 8 year practice as a lawyer as per one one of the requirements of that position. What happened afterwards,ASK justified (as usual) to the nation that Saneem was the best choice adding that this (2014) election will be his first election where he will cast his vote.Phew.....M.Saneem became the SOE.The permanent Secretaries selection will be no different. Those selected will be "Yes Man/woman" required to tow the line.In the process bending down to ASK.That is the merit for the selection, this is how we get our PSs.Watch it.

Nothing new here, just typical people promoted according to Bhaiyum's standards and merit.

Welcome to the clan.
