JUDAS TO BE SENT PACKING: Fijileaks informed that Kubuabola's 1987 coup conspirator Isikeli Mataitoga, Fiji's present Ambassador to Japan, will be kicked out of his job for foul-mouthing the FFP led Government!

A LENGTHY investigation by Fijileaks Investigation Team into the former i-Taukei Movement leader, the racist Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, the present Fijian Foreign Minister has resulted in some unexpected findings. The Team found that he did not dip into FijiFirst Party coffers for election funding to fight the September general election.

Instead, it has been established that the Fiji Retailers Association president Himmat Lodhia allegedly bankrolled Kubuabola's campaign to a tune of thousands of dollars. Kubuabola and Lodhia's connection go back to 1987, when Lodhia had become the Minister of State for Indian Affairs post-Rabuka coups; in August 1992 he was forced to resign after the Fiji police launched an investigation into his company for the disappearance from the customs bond of $67,000 of imported jewellery. The reward for allegedly funding his golf playing loyalist Kubuabola's election campaign:

(i) Lodhia's son Deemant Lodhia, with no knowledge of international affairs, was inducted into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development in Suva on Kubuabola's instructions; Special Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, February 2014–August 2014 (7 months) and later posted to Fiji's High Commission in Canberra, Australia, as First Secretary where he is presently stationed;

(ii) Another under-qualified individual in international relations, one Rupika Nandan, has been appointed as SENIOR Adviser to Kubuabola in the Foreign Ministry because of her close friendship with the Lodhias' which she forged in New Zealand. Fijileaks understands both Nandan and Deemant Lodhia hold New Zealand citizenship.

(iii) Himmat Lodhia's brother Harish is already Fiji's Honorary Consul in New Zealand, appointed by Kubuabola.

In Rupika Nandan's case, it must be a bitter sweet revenge; until recently she could only watch from outside into the Foreign Ministry where her 'jilted lover and kama sutra' professor, the former University of Fiji Vice-Chancellor Mahendra Kumar, was Director of Climate Change. Fijileaks has been reliably informed that her job was not advertised. But as long as one is in the sulu of Kubuabola via the dhoti of Lodhia, the job is for your asking! But did Kumar, a squash playing buddy of Lodhia, recommend his "Lovebird" for the job in Kubuabola's Foreign Ministry? Another, Priyashni Lata's role as Special Adviser to Minister, questioned!

Hey Vic your stories just keeps on getting better and interesting. I am sure some implicated men and women in these stories must be really getting pissed off and cant seem to face the public more confidently and proudly like before - I can tell you that the people who were so closely linked to Ganesh and Mahend are now slowly sinking back into their own little holes that they once left behind empty to walk alongside these two "talk too much" buddies. Both have now left the building and these "leeches" are now scrambling back into those empty holes that they no find solace in...now we cant see them walking the corridors or just having a good yarn and passing remarks at the poor young indian students that walk past them...on their own they feel small, toothless and defenseless..From my office i can see the corridors leading the FNU Valelevu Campus and the VC's office...they used to all stand there...its all empty and quiet now and so much more like a University unlike before...the Cumming Street Verandahs...keep these stories coming and you sure have a lot of readers and followers here in FNU Valelevu...many of whom are very grateful for your timely bombshells...

all that glitters is not gold. himmat lodhia can confirm that.and, quite frankly, I am not at all surprised by the Fijileaks revelation of dubious appointments at the Foreign Affairs Ministry by Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola using his influence. The man is a very old hand at playing dirty politics.
So much for Bainimarama's "clean up" coup and his lofty pronouncements about getting rid of old ways of doing politics.
The old ways - the corrupt ways - remains intact in the "new" Fiji fashioned by Bainimarama and his cronies.

Well thats the reality - the corrupt ways remain and have gone even stronger - only a lot of new players have joined in. Thats new Fiji.

Kubuabola is the minister who plotted some and benefitted from all the coups and coups of all kinds. He may have portrayed to be very racist after the 1st coup. But no, he is a clever opportunist all for himself and look who all surround him. On the contrary. he very much undermines iTaukei interests and people. He wants to keep them subjugated. Thats the revelation from individuals who were close to him in his hey days.

His links to Lodhia goes back and has been a helper to bring in briefcases of jewellary from India without having it all checked by customs. That was during Rabuka era. One wonders about the magnitude of such imports in the last 8 years. For some reason, the Bainimarama regime has been blind to Kubuabola's deeds.The cleanup had been selective.

The latest revelation at Foriegn ministry is not at all surprising. While the ministry may be excited about having a " Sex Goddess" on board and very much looking forward to her "contributions", her abilities to undulge and bring down emperors is the factor that would provide consolation to the right-thinking silent majority. The sad thing is of course, the deserving qualified Fiji citizens did not get the opportunity to apply for the position.

And. the Father of Fiji coups Rabuka would be able to confirm Ratu Inoke Kubuabola as indeed a very old hand at dirty politics. He was one of Rabuka's key man in the political shenanigans and coup of 1987 together with Isimeli Maitaitoga who thought himself the repository of intelligence by virtue of having studied law. It is not a coincidence that these scoundrels are still around after all these years still harvesting the ill-gains of misrule in Fiji. They are shrewd slimy scumbags.

So the "new" Fiji is not very different from the old African societies described so succinctly by the great African writer Chinua Achebe.. - societies where it is the norm for the political big man to be in the pockets of the big business men with all the trappings accompanying that alliance between the political elite and the economic elite...

The decision to post inexperience and in many instances unqualified officers for diplomatic posting has become a joke in Fiji. It is also racially biased and people can find out why highly qualified Indian staff are not considered. Foreign Affairs has become so unprofessional Ministry.......and very racist! Bainimarama and kaiyum talk about equal citizenship, merit based appointment and all these sound big lies! I have just left the Fiji Public Circus after seeing all these from 2006

Bainimarama and Khaiyum have put in place an entrenched patronage system to reward its lackeys and sycophants with positions and promotions. That system is now the norm in the "new" Fiji created by the Bai-Kai regime. All the talk about equal citizenry and meritocracy is just that - T A L K !
