TWISTED NATION'S ARM WITH FATHER DAVID ARMS: Aiyaz Khaiyum and David Arms imposed D'Hondt Electoral System instead of the Sainte-Laguë Divisor Rule. If the latter had been adopted, FijiFirst's seats would have shrunk to 24 seats, SODELPA would have got 17 seats, and smaller parties like PDP, FLP would probably have got 2 seats each. NFP would have got 4 seats and there would have been one independent. The D'Hondt gave larger parties an advantage and allowed FijiFirst absolute majority - and also the opportunity to rig the election! By removing by-election provision Khaiyum can maintain majority until 2018!

A dictatorship held a " democratic" election. That says it all. After coming to power through an unlawful military takeover and entrenching themselves with unfettered powers - to manipulate the electoral system and the constitution and everything else, including the media - the eight year Bainimarama- Khaiyum dictatorship held a " democratic" election. It was a fraud on the people of Fiji designed to con the international community into believing " Fiji returns to democracy".

Correctly said Fijileaks. I remember that Independent Candidate Roshika Deo managed to get 2000 votes.

And that is why I'll forever lose hope in government because some selfish people just can't get their act together.

Just because someone has Father before his name it does not mean he is infallible . A lot of church fathers got it wrong when they failed to condemn Hitler and his Nazi thugs. A lot of church fathers got it wrong when they defended the church when child sexual abuse by Padres were exposed. Father David Arms got it wrong when he threw his support behind the Bainimarama regime's plan to design a new electoral system to foist on the people of Fiji with the aim of using it to hang onto power. This is not to say Father Arms is not a good man, a decent man. He is. But good man with good intentions can get things wrong. Father Arms overrated his ability to shape a utopian Fiji society with his and Khaiyum's electoral system.

The rush to shred ballot papers leave a lot of questions unanswered. Why is there a rush to get rid of all evidences of the rigged election,

And the verdict has arrived! NFP MP's will not be eligible for Parliamentary Sittings while suspended. This is totally opposed to what their abhorrent political party decree states. I wonder who gives them such incompetent legal advice. Oh well, when the dictator and his lackeys run the Courts, what's there to worry? Just makes me wonder, why isn't there a revolt yet? When will the Fijians wake up?

The shredding of ballot papers without a mourn by SODELPA and NFP who have claimed rigging? Was the rigging claim credible? If they are serious, then they should move immediately to stop shredding of ballot papers.

Feel sorry for what has become of a country that was once described by the Pope as the way the world should be.

The Chors - the thug rulers - may live long but they will NOT be in power forever . That is a lesson taught by history to all Chors - big and small. Look at where some of Chors from previous coups are today, if they are not in their graves...
