Also Dhol players and DJ Shailen who rocked the night away on the upper deck of Bella Vista and not to mention the delicious Buffet dinner.

“The 1987 and 2000 coups...Yet it wasn’t just the brain drain – tragic as that was. It was the Fijian family torn apart. And today I want to say sorry to those of you who suffered. The many thousands who were made to feel like strangers in your own country. Who felt obliged to seek new homes elsewhere, leaving loved ones and friends behind – Coming to Australia – in your case – and having to start all over again,” -
Frank Bainimarama to Indo-Fijians in Sydney, including to those dancing away happily at the Meet and Greet Cruise Ball! He has invited them to  return to Fiji and build a home for themselves or invest in the land of their birth - and continue eating and cruising along Suva Harbour with him?

Dear Editor,

I attended the function and was pleasantly surprised at the turnout. People basically turned up for a very relaxing evening that was full of entertainment. I suppose we sometimes have to look outside the doom and gloom just for a little while. We have beggars in Australia too but the Australian PM still attends his social events too :-)

King Rat a.k.a Junior Siddiq Koya...I worship Jesus, but more importantly I am a member of the GENUINE Fiji First Party.not the fake one stealing everything in sight....people's rights, intellectual property amongst many other things. Good thing GOD is watching and one king is dying of kidney failure whilst the other king has acute heart failure leading him to fall asleep every few minutes...not long now !!!!

You publicly claim you worship 'Jesus' then g on to contradict yourself by saying you genuinely serve a political master in the FFP!

What did Christ teach us: no man can serve two masters!

Stop invoking God to bring about death and destruction upon individuals. If you were 'genuine' you will know that the Christian God is a loving God who forgives.

You are displaying all the qualities of a two-faced heretic!

Yes nothing wrong with having a good time. Isn't that why Bainimarama took over the government of the country? To give himself and his morally bankrupt sycophantic supporters and cronies a good time?
Never mind that that democracy, human rights, the rule of law have all been bastardised by Bainimarama and his mob in power.
What a shameless lot of scoundrels!

Nothing wrong with having a good time...but the point is that the PM broke the law and all his promises to be where he is. What these people are saying is simply that....a coup is ok so lets celebrate until some dick head does the same thing to spoil the party.

Anyway cheers

Editor,
We read the following in Los Angeles Times editorial writer Marvin Seid's review of Raymond Bonner's book Waltzing With A Dictator ( May 10,1987) :
... For 20 years, Marcos, with the grotesquely avaricious Imeldahis constant goad and helpmate, ruled the Phillippines, first as it's elected president, later with dictatorial power under martial law. The Marcoses believed in doing nothing in moderation when excess was an available alternative. ( their lavish parties attended by the local elites and foreign ambassadors were a legend ). Five American Presidents from Johnson through Reagan held office while the Marcoses reigned and steadily looted the Phillippines. None made any serious effort to curb the larceny or inhibit mounting abuses of human rights. Only at the end when the Marcoses ship of state was visibly sinking did the US act to help rock their boat...
Students of history and international politics will recognise this waltzing with the dictator phenomenon as an all too familiar one.
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

So although Bainimarama's sycophantic supporters might think their boat party with the erstwhile dictator of Fiji in Sydney Harbour was a big deal, in reality it is a poor imitation of what the big time rogue leaders of the world get up to. After all Bainimarama is but a small time rogue leader of a third world banana republic in the Pacific. That is the reality no matter how his supporters and cronies try to dress their Emperor!

PM is going to Australia and tell ex residence to come back. PM should visit every corner of Fiji and see how many of locals are eager to run out of Fiji. you visit especially young generation and very few want to stay in Fiji. why is that. there is nothing good for them in Fiji and how can you expect ex residence to come to Fiji.

The people who went on this tour if you see them properly, you will find people who are after something in Fiji, that's the greed they have to take whatever is left here. They know they can easily lure a form 4 educated PM.

so PM check home first and see how many of them if given a chance will leave Fiji. go and check with those who had enough of Fiji. if the gate opens Fiji will be left will thugs only

It is human nature for people to look for greener pastures. Its been happening for centuries. Look at those from Europe who migrated to the US and continue to do so. Look at those from Syria, India and Bangladesh etc who are now flooding the borders of EU countries.

Fiji is not the only country to experience this, so don't try and make a big deal of this. After all, Fiji is a 3d world developing country and cannot provide the economic opportunities that most of these refugees seek.

Get real man!

In Franks " new Fiji " economic opportunities, employment for top job opportunities, and all other kinds of opportunities you can think of flow to Frank, Khaiyum and their cronies. The ordinary Fijians are left with the crumbs off the " opportunities" table - if they are lucky!,

What about the memories of torture and assaults on human rights by Fiji's " benevolent dictator "?
Oh yes we must all pretend they never happened under the watch of Fiji's current thug ruler.
