BARKING UP THE WRONG MANGO TREE: The Opposition Parties should have been asking for an audit of the Result Management System. That is where the RIGGING, if any, could take place, and if so, VERIFIED. Sadly, many good, clean and honest candidates are led by corrupt and bad leaders and their deputy leaders. Isa, Fiji, Isa, Fiji.
*The Multinational Observer Group have said that they DID NOT observe any irregularities in any of the election steps observed to date, including during pre-polling, postal voting, or election day voting
The Methodist Church in Fiji has written to President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere raising their grave concern on the counting of votes and the inconsistency of the electronic results management system.
The President of the Methodist Church in Fiji, Reverend Ili Vunisuwai says the event that occurred on Wednesday night where there was a glitch in the Fijian Elections Office app casts doubts about the provisional results.
He says while there were explanations of the glitch provided, it was not convincing to restore the confidence of their members.
Reverend Vunisuwai says this is not the first time this has happened, and the Church is deeply concerned with the continuous anomalies in the FEO.
He wishes to advise that they have lost faith and confidence in the affairs of this institution and its system.
He adds the church had hoped that such an institution would be flawless due to the significance of the national event to our beloved nation.
The Methodist Church President says they will continue to uphold justice, democracy, good governance and integrity.
He says it is their hope that due prudence will be provided to those who seek justice.
Reverend Vunisuwai says it is their humble plea that their concerns will be taken seriously and they seek the President's timely intervention to ensure the final results truly reflect the wishes of the people.
He adds the Church proposes that the counting is validated manually given the anomaly experienced with the electronic results management system.
Calls have been made for all votes in the 2022 general elections to be recounted.
The only count underway is for the pre-poll and postal votes at the Vodafone Arena. Source: Fijivillage News

SArmy Commander, Major General Jone Kalouniwai says he wishes to reassure the people of Fiji that the RFMF will not respond to People’s Alliance Leader, Sitiveni Rabuka’s insistence or any political party, that the RFMF intervene under their responsibilities from Section 131. 2. of the 2013 Constitution.
Major General Kalouniwai says the RFMF as an institution will put its trust in the electoral process.
In a collective statement as an institution, Major General Kalouniwai says the constitutional responsibility of the RFMF section 131.2 does not make any reference to intervening or getting involved with the electoral processes or management of voting or counting of votes with the assistance of the military.
He says using the military in any form during the electoral process is unconstitutional and as such the RFMF will leave it in the good hands of those responsible of the electoral process under the 2013 constitution.
The Army Commander says the 2013 constitution does provide a mechanism where parties can seek redress or challenge the results of the election.
He urges that any dispute with reference to the electoral process be referred to the Supervisor of Elections, the Electoral Commission and the Court of Disputed Returns.
Meanwhile the Commander says he has not received any correspondence from the People’s Alliance Leader. Source: Fijivillage News
