Editor,
People to people assistance and solidarity has always been the most authentic expression of humanity. It's spontaneous, sincere and genuinely altruistic. It's a case of putting people first in our scale of values.
We learn from ABC 24 news 29/02 that BHP's deadly mining dam collapse at its Samarco plant in Brazil has been linked to ramping production.
Now this by contrast is a case of putting profit before people or the environment.
In the latter case only lip service is paid to the well- being of the people and the environment.
It's all about profit and the self- serving agenda of the corporations .
Sounds familiar?
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

NFP can also boast to show some of its photos for being in the field helping the people.

But Only Frank and Aiyaz has got the keys to the money till and they might want to share with NFP for helping Govt in the field...!!!

Why are there no photos of FULL House MP's helping Govt in the distribution of rations.

Does Fiji First Party only have 3 MP's?

Why not all ministry vehicles are allocated to each MP with a team to take rations to support those where they can get to in Main Land so that DISMAC can concentrate in outer Island?

Or is it Frank, Aiaz and Akbar taken annual leave and are Cyclone volunteers?

Editor,
The Righteous Remembered
We learn from World News Report ' Event commemorates Czech priest whom communists tortued to death' that the overcrowded Church of the Assumption of Our Lady in Cihost today commemorated Josef Toufar, a local priest whom communit secret police StB tortured to death 66 years ago, at a divine service including the presentation of a new book on Toufar...
President Milos Zeman bestowed the Medal of Merit on Toufar ...
Good men and their good deeds are remembered long after they are gone.
That's why Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King , Mother Teresa are still remembered today with reverence .
How long are some of the politicians of today likely to be remembered?
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

Citizens of Fiji are entitled to receive timely, equitable and appropriate assistance to meet their emergency needs following a natural disaster. This is guaranteed in the Constitution. It is therefore inappropriate and unconstitutional to suggest that anyone is a messiah for delivering people's entitlements. Second, it is inappropriate and unconstitutional, except for the reason of public safety, to prevent anyone from delivering people their entitlements after an emergency. This us the message that should be going out to our citizenry if we aspire to build a strong, resilient and proud people
