PAC STUFFED AGAINST THE ODDS: Dada Khaiyum made sure PAC was stuffed with Government MPs (3 to 2), with SODELPA's Radrodro ready to wield 'knife' against Prasad; Its nonsense to point to New Zealand...!

As Fiji Sun rushed to the support of FFP government by rightly pointing out that in New Zealand its Finance and Expenditure Committee (FEC) - equivalent to PAC - is chaired by National Party chairman, the paper failed to highlight that UNLIKE Fiji, the FEC membership is finely balanced

Picture

FINE BALANCE:
National Party: 5; Labour Party: 3; Green Party: 1; NZ First: 1;
ACT New Zealand: 1
TOTAL: Government: 5; Opposition: 6 (although ACT is in an informal alliance with National Party government)

So what did this mortien say: "It won't be like people call and say, it's whom you know kind of situation, if you know the person, you will get recruited, and it's no longer that system."

Do i recall reddy telling his PS that "kattu wanted a job for one failed FFP candidate?. and he not only got a job without an ad, but was also promoted?

Did i hear of one relative of Frank, without any qualification, getting a PS job?

Did I hear of one vili nepotism - oops Naupote, who failed as a politician then was given army commander job.

Kaunisela?

All the "kattu" chamchas getting jobs without ads in government and statutory boards, and paid out of this world?

We must advise Oxford people of the new definition of "Merit" for a country called Fiji. Also also that this definition will be only temporary, till the current government lasts, after which the universal definition will be restored.

They don't call it nepotism for nothing, especially when it comes to sidestepping the real issues when grilled with tough questions to which you're suppose to answer without fear.

No wonder Biman got kicked out for doing the right thing and yet they see it as a threat to their rule and control.

Seems people in Fiji have forgotten what real democracy allows. It allows media to question decisions of those in power-is that politicizing. It allows unions to function as unions, demand better working conditions and pay -is that politicizing. It allows public to question those in power whether their freedom of expression, movement are allowed do those in parliament voice their grievances and are given genuine solution. It allows the speaker to be fair and all committees to be independent in their decisions. If allowing PAC to be free to scrutinize how the government uses your money and the chair questions it, then let it be. Such politicizing is democratically right. But aare dada, you won't know that since you don't know what democracy is, free goodies and jobs for your own is all that matters to you. Then good luck. Keep paying taxes to allow your favorite government enjoy pecks and pamper those they want.
