races have no rights. human beings have rights . inalienable human rights. indigenous people are human beings so must have the same human rights and the right to live with human dignity. but on account of their historical dispossession and marginalisation and disadvantge they need the special protection of the State. there is nothing wrong in the State providing that special protection within the bounds of sound policy and fairness.
