Leading psychologist, Selina Kuruleca says the Fijian Elections Office and those in positions of power need to be very clear and honest about the processes as people feel their rights are being violated.

She says there are a lot of conspiracy theories out there but we should look at the facts which has to be consistent over the last 2 elections as well.

She says the impact of polling, like any election is stressful but for Fiji, suffice to say, it is extremely stressful because of the glitch that occurred on Wednesday night.

The psychologist says a lot of people outside of the clinical setting are thinking what they are going to do, what do they tell their children and do they have a job next year.

Kuruleca says the processes should be clear and followed.

She says some people she spoke to in her clinic yesterday say they felt robbed and helpless.

Kuruleca says this is where people are getting stressed out and unsure as to where we are headed.

She stresses that we should not look at this as how it impacts us but our children as well.

Kuruleca is asking the Fijian Elections Office as well as those in positions of power to look at how this psychologically impacts the whole population.

She says there was a study done when Donand Trump lost the US Presidential elections and the resulting violent uprising that occurred at the State capital. Source: Fijivillage News
