Fijileaks: Now, he has repeated his treacherous 'Operation Kidacala', the name he had given to his secret 1987 Coup, on his own MPs and his SODELPA party. He stood up in Parliament, and in the middle of his speech, announced that he was quitting Parliament. What kind of a leader does that - not giving the party he was still the parliamentary leader of - time for an orderly transition. He rained shame upon the party (except upon himself), throwing the party into confusion and chaos. Now, Tanya Waqanika, who will replace him through the absurd D'Hondt Electoral System, has to re-organize her own life to enter Parliament. In a normal democracy, there would have been a by-election to replace Rabuka, giving defeated candidates from other parties a chance to run for Parliament. If we had a by-election, who knows even FLP leader Chaudhry might have won, although we would not have endorsed him. In fact, two seats would have been up for grabs, for FFP MP Virendra Prakash, charged over travel allowance has also resigned, or was asked by Aiyaz Khaiyum to resign. Prakash was a NFP candidate in the 1999 and 2006 elections. His replacement will be VIRENDRA LAL, who garnered only 519 votes in 2018. Like Prakash, Lal is also exectuive member of the Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha Fiji, and employed by the Fiji Broadcasting Commission. He does Hindi bhajan programs on Sundays. Now, singing his way into Parliament on the FFP ticket with 519 votes. The absurdity of the D'Hondt System is on full display - a party has to poll over 5 per cent of national votes to enter Parliament but a candidate with 519 votes can just drop everything and walk in for his or her party has made it into Parliament. As we wrote some years ago, 'Oh God, Which MP Is Next to DIE'. Fiji is not the way the world should be. It is an electoral dictatorship because of D'Hondt System
ON RABUKA: There is no need to be surprised nor to heap praise on this treasonist racist of a man. It seems the former third-ranking soldier cum snake has never shred the cunning, conniving, traitrous trait he deployed in 1987. First, he took his then commander and now Speaker, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, by surprise when he executed the coup. He had walked into Parliament in plain clothes, took a seat in the Visitor's Gallery, and waited for the Government Building clock to chime at 10, when his balaclava and gas-masked soldiers stormed parliament and took over the Bavadra Government. Worse, he had planned it to coincide on 14 May 1987, 108 years to the day when the first batch of Indian indentured labourers were introduced into Fiji to toil on the sugar, tea, and other plantations. | COVID HUG BY TWO COUPISTS |
He famously declared to the world that 'Indians will never rule Fiji again', and the rest is history. Now, he has repeated his treacherous 'Operation Kidacala', the name he had given to his secret 1987 Coup, on his own MPs and his SODELPA party. He stood up in Parliament, and in the middle of his speech, announced that he was quitting Parliament. What kind of a leader does that - not giving the party he was still the parliamentary leader of - time for an orderly transition. He threw them into confusion and chaos. As far as we are concerned, he has inflicted the same chaos on SODELPA as he had inflicted on Fiji in 1987. Frank Bainimarama, his junior, was drafted from the navy to enforce Rabuka's orders in 1987. As for Rabuka, SODEPLA should say to party traitor:
BLOODY GOOD RIDDANCE TO THE JETSAM
Sadly, as he cuts himself loose from Parliament and drifts back into society (waiting and scheming his next Operation Kidacala), others with him from 1987 are still up there - Jioji Konrote as President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau as Speaker, and Frank Bainimarama as Prime Minister - all military men. We also wonder why Rabuka never called for Aiyaz Sayed Khaiyum to setp aside over allegations that Khaiyum was the 1987 bomber in the Malani family case now with Police. He is the best person to enlighten us over the 1987 bombings. Among those he had thrown into a prison cell was Veronica Malani's father, Ratu Filimoni Ralogaivau, then Bavadra's Minister for Fijian Affairs. Rabuka later enticed him by deploying traditional channels to lure Ratu Ralogaivau to cross over and become his Interim Minister for Education, and inevitably exposing the family in harms way
SODELPA MP Inosi Kuridrani has called on Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to step down. While responding to the President's speech during the opening of the new parliament session, Kuridrani says he urgently shares the concerns of the people of Navosa-i-Wai, who he represents, as to why the Minister for Economy, who is also the Minister for Climate Change, Minister for Elections, FICAC, Civil Aviation and Attorney General cannot resign from cabinet due to the allegations against him in relation to a bombing incident in 1987 that was reported to Police some 5 months ago. | We asked Sayed-Khaiyum about Kuridrani’s comments. He said he had no comments to make. Source: FijiVillage News, 7 December 2020 |
