RUBBISH: Aiyaz Khaiyum dismisses opposition parties claim that the election was not free and fair; cites MOG's endorsement of the election

"I won't give it much credibility." Khaiyum said he would accept and give credibility to an independent group like the Multinational Observer Group (MOG), which had said in a press briefing yesterday that the election represented the will of the Fijian people.

"They did not find anomalies that would have in any way affected the outcome or the credibility of the election"

When it suits his agenda he cites MOG Report but in 2012 he was citing EU Report to justify the ousting of the Qarase government in 2006:

Elections Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum refuses to be drawn into the opposition parties' claims the election is not free and fair saying he "won't give it much credibility." He said one of the party executives had only a day before praised the process only to change her tune a day later - signing a joint statement with other opposition party leaders saying otherwise. Sayed-Khaiyum also questioned the timing of the statement saying it could have stemmed from election results favouring the FijiFirst party to form government. "It is very interesting that they are making these kinds of claims after the count indicates FijiFirst is going to win government," Sayed-Khaiyum said. "They had all the time. when they found those anomalies they should have brought those to the attention of the election officials immediately. "FijiFirst polling agents also had their concerns during the process and followed it up in writing with the election officials and it was rectified. "There were also observer groups these parties could have gone to. "I won't give it much credibility." He said he would accept and give credibility to an independent group like the Multinational Observer Group (MOG), which had said in a press briefing yesterday that the election represented the will of the Fijian people. "They did not find anomalies that would have in any way affected the outcome or the credibility of the election," Sayed-Khaiyum said. Let's face it. This is simply a case of sour grapes on the part of then losing parties. It's similar to the fox who told everyone the grapes were sour just because he couldn't get then.

He is believing the MOG group now but did not believe them in 2006, what is this? Only their MOG is good and not the ones observing in 2006? This like in Daku in Tailevu during Ratu Emosi's time. Ni lialia taucoko. Vuku ga o Ratu Emosi.

Right back at you, SODELPA (then SDL). Observers did a splendid job in 2006 elections, despite Chaudhry's protestations, but not this time eh?

Its not sour grapes

We faile dto repent. WE failed to say we did wrong. WE failed to say we did things illegally during our time.

So Aiaz and Frank only added 10 folds of what what done in the past.

Before you people were blaming Indians and creating fear into voters that Indians will take your land if they form the govt.

Now your own Fijian and RFMF supported Frank is selling you Fijians to the Chinese and your land is a threat more so now than ever before under any Indians.

Ro Kepa wanted to trial Frank for coup. But now will seat in opposition now and lets see how you perform over next 4 years.

One thing for sure... please ask for amendments to electoral process electionings, and ballot box supervision by all parties throughout the process, as afterall Frank has not rigged so should not have issues to improve the process for next time!

what is Khaiyum's credibility? You take away the power of the military backing that the Bainimarama dictatorship had which allowed Aiyaz to become Minister of Many Things he would be what he was : a mediocre lawyer.

It's all the educated and well meaning citizens of Fiji who voted for Fiji First. We understand the meaning of peace and racial harmony. That is why the celebrations at Fiji First headquarters is low key.......Our hearts are happy and we go on with life.
In case you are wondering..... there was and is a strong support for Fiji First amongst the Fijians as you can see from the election results!

it shows that uneducated people vote for Fiji first party. The reason is this:
1. you support coup makers like Bainimarama.
2. you dont think off our generation, you are telling us in-directly, that if we would want to become a prime minister, get into the force, plan for a coup, and then become acting prime minister, wait for 6-8yrs, then do elections, during the 6-8yrs, make sure you help as everyone that needs help; just loan from the world bank, and take any kind of assistance that come your way (e.g. chinese govt.), no need to show statements. they wouldnt know.
3. once you have filled your pockets, then, go into elections, the stupid citizens who know, nothing, will just vote for you, because they like what you doing.
And last and not least, will the Civil servants suffer again with pay deduction....just like back in 2009......i hope not.

"Welcome to Mars sandy......"

" Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak won another six year term in office September 7, with 88.6 percent of the total vote. The lop-sided result reflected the carefully orchestrated nature of the campaign, which Mubarak instigated in order to give his dictatorial regime a "democratic" gloss. Despite the evidence of large scale electoral fraud and intimidation, the Bush administration welcomed the vote as a step towards democracy..."
If anyone is interested to know more about that dictator's "democratic" elections go to Rick Kelly's article ' Mubarak wins Egypt's Stage-Managed presidential elections' 19 September 2005 in World Socialist Web Site.
I present this to show electoral fraud happens big time under dictatorships and it is not uncommon for international partners to accept it as a step towards democracy and all that.
In so far as Fiji election 2014 goes the Bainimarama regime and the political party it had formed to contest the elections had given itself various forms of unfair advantage over other parties ( that is there in the public domain). But whether it had also rigged the elections - as Mubarak did - and is being alleged by opposing parties that is yet to be established.

To Waila, Sour Grapes and our citizens and observers of the same ilk. I have four things to say to you.
1. "The truth is incontrovertible. Ignorance may deride it, malice may distort it, but there its stands." Winston Churchill.
2. "Whatever is hidden shall be proclaimed from the rooftops" God.
3. Time is like a curtain, a veil, a dividing wall between the past, present and the future. In the present, we only see most of the here and now, a little of the past, and even less of the future. As we pass through the veil of time from moment to moment, day to day and so on, once hidden things and past mysteries emerge into our vision and things become more transparent. The truths become more fully known.
4. This is one reason why we study history and being educated, because as we learn more about ourselves and others from the past, we may be able to carve out a better future for ourselves. But that future depends on the very decisions we make everyday of our lives. Someday in the future, we will discover the truth about all that we have talked about.

It is the wisdom of honourable men and women to seek the truth and protect it, for it is in the truth lies our hope for greatness. It is also the design and in the character of evil men and women to distort or hide the truth. By doing so, they mistakenly hope to lead the gullible along the paths of darkness and lies and deceit to reach their selfish goals. But time is a great and sure umpire. It always rules on the side of truth, no matter how long it takes.

To Voreqe and Khaiyum, enjoy these moments and take time to meditate on your evil and wicked ways. One day, that moment in time will come when all you have hidden from the people shall be proclaimed from the rooftops. Please STOP, LISTEN, and LEARN while you still can.
