The granting of permits is in the hands of scoundrels in government who are basically regime lackeys. they simply do what their political masters - Khaiyum and Bainimarama - expect them to do. Is that such a hard act to follow?

Unlike dumb Chaudhry who allowed a mess march by protesters against his govt in 2000 AFTER military intelligence reported to him through his MP Haroon Ali Shah for Chaudhry to close parliament down on Friday (day of the coup); Aiaz led govt is no fool to do the same to allow opposition to be given open cheque to show their mighty force.

Afterall Frank is no longer having military position to command other than command through the position of PM so would not see fit to ask RFMF to run the streets if numbers for SODELPA may put threat to his govt to legitimately get back into govt.

Nonetheless, UN, EU, NZ, and others would be closing their eyes and ears so they can claim elections were free and fair!!!

Maybe its easier to control people in one location thus large numbers allowed.

Maybe its also easier if organizers do show that they'll be in control of their people getting together and doing their business and no trouble will eventuate.

Bainimarama says he will accept the elections result ( no matter who wins). Question is can Bainimarama be trusted?
The short answer is NO.
Bainimarama I suspect is making such magnanimous noise about accepting the elections result because he reckons he has the elections in the bag with all the State resources he has been using to buy the elections.
