This is corruption. Big time corruption. First Churchill Park to Tappos. Now Shirley Park to Meghjis. Bala, Kai and Bai must be prepared to go to jail for this. Tappoo and Meghi directors also must go to jail for corruption and breach of law. In Labasa too, public park given to hotel developer without tender. To avoid jail, Bai Kai will buy votes and rig elections. Democracy no more in Fiji. Australia and US take note.

Editor,
It was hard to believe from his perverse public utterances and conduct ( including his mysogynistic treatment of journalist Megan Kelly) early in his presidential bid, that so many Americans could flock in to support Donald Trump.
That believe became that much harder after seeing British journalist Matt Frei's telling documentary The Mad World of Donald Trump screened last night on Channel 9 tv.
The man is indeed " worse than imagined" ( the guardian 31/03/16).
It is a sad reflection on contemporary American politics and society that a man like Donald Trump can potentially be catapulted to the highest office of the land.
I thought American were a far better people than that.
But we know from our own experience that it is not uncommon for arseholes to rise to power.
That's what many Australians say about Tony Abbot.
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu

Which world is Rajen Naidu living in? Here in Fiji, we have a form four failure catapulted to PM office. Fijians flocked to him or so they claim. Others claim it was rigged. But Rajen should know if elections were rigged - his brother was a election commissioner. There is a word for such things - its hypocracy. Another is crocodile tears.

And that's what many thinking Fijians say about Bainimarama, Khaiyum and their cronies who have risen to power overnight by dubious and devious means.
That was the latent message in the above letter which Trumped managed to miss. For some people everything apparently needs to spelt out because of their limited intellectual capacity.

Sorry that I didnt get the latent message by Rajen Naidu. Can he and And tell us simple people without hi-fi education and intellect, wasnt Rajen Naidu's brother an election commissioner, which saw a form four failure catapulted to PMs Office? If he was, then did Rajen Naidu complaint to him and utter a single word on this treachery? He can say it directly or latently! Or may be the elections were not rigged, and majority simple people flocked to Bai, as majority simple people are flocking to Trump.

There'll be no reply from Rajen now. He's probably reading The Australian or Yahoo News, in anticipation of the next speech to be shared here. In the meantime, he'll quietly wait for these comments to be forgotten.

There are two sanctimonious idiots pretending to be freedom fighters for Fiji. One is an idiot running treadmills more than dock appearances; the other is a bush lawyer lecturing us with his "learnings" from the media daily. Both are called rajen, coincidentally.

Editor,
Democracy - Governing for the People.
What Chris Gatt says in his letter ( smh 22/03 ) about Australian democracy has equal relevance to the " true " democracy introduced by Bainimarama and Khaiyum in a supposedly reshaped " new" Fiji.
Chris writes " A greater win for democracy in Australia would be disallowing political donations, thereby limiting the influence of large corporations and giving the government incentive to GOVERN FOR THE PEOPLE ( my emphasis )".
But let me be frank. That's not likely to happen. Special interests of the political and economic elites will not allow the status quo to be disturbed.
Sincerely,
Rajend Naidu
