The parents of Navneeta Devi Chand say they are upset by the Ministry of Education’s decision to clear a school teacher they accused of driving her over the edge. They say they are concerned that the decision was made public when Police have not completed their investigation. Navneeta, the 18-year-old Jasper Williams High School student had poured kerosene on herself and set herself alight at her home in Teidamu, Lautoka. Navneeta’s father, Narendra Chand, alleged that the teacher had bullied her by confiscating her phone and showing text messages to students and teachers. Fiji Sun, 14 April 2015
