CANDIDATES FOR 2014 ELECTIONS

SODELPA has put out expressions of interests for those interested to be candidates for the 2014 General Elections. Full details on expressions of interest and  the selection criteria can be obtained from the General Secretary Mr Pio Tabaiwalu on 8492872/7230362 or e-mail sodelpa14@gmail.com or from the Party office at 66 McGregor Road, Suva.

Women and youths who meet the selection criteria are particularly encouraged to apply. People of 18 years and above and are registered as voters can apply and must comply with Sections 55, 56 and 57 of the Constitution.

The Party is looking at selecting a high quality of candidates for the 2014 elections and would like representation across all communities.

There have already been considerable interests from the public to the expression of interest.

Applications close on 31 December 2013.

I have never across a situation where a political party calls for a party leader - they should have called a conference and elected one via secret ballot - just wait and see - if the likes of Baba and Anare Jale dont get the job to lead the party, they will take their followers elsewhere. The party looks totally confused to me!

anare jale is a dickhead who shud be humble and stop creating problems for SDL. where was he in last few years? problem is woman behind him is power hungry too.
He and T Baba should piss off and let the general meeting vote the senior leaders ie Tui Cakau, Ro Kepa or Rt Yavala.
We the kai viti are sick and tired or recent arrivals and hangers on trying to jump the leadership q.
Jale & T Baba drau muria mada nomudrau i yatu drau ............

@ kai yanuyanu

Are you saying only chiefs should be elected leaders of the political party SODELPA?

Why advertise for a leader if there is a leeadership queue already in place at SODELPA.

Try racking your brains again? Careful now that you don't give a bad smell to SODELPA.

SODELPA clearly has to sort out and make clear the fundamentals that they stand for when any one raises any doubt (such as the likes of kai yanuyanu), OR no one in their right mind is going to bother joining their party.

I suppose putting an ad out for a leader tells the nation in a way where the chiefs who are part of SODELPA stand.

Then again, let's hope its not a situation where they (chiefs) are expecting to call all the shots from behind the scenes since they might well consider that to be their natural god-given right. Thanks but no thanks.

why dont we also advertise for prime minister too -
someone with high intelligence,
doesnt need a puppet master up his bum
not corrupt and not a thief
has high integrity,
not a lamusona and doesnt shit in pants
doesnt bash wife or women when drunk.

Must be able to speak the queens English
must be emotionally intelligent
doesnt react and sulk like a baby
doesnt pretend to be a man only when 50 boci guards are around.

And the prime minister must be able to count and read!

Bainimagana, cai tamamu kaukauwa!!!

SODELPA need leader like Baba /Ratu Yavala to lead .We would have prefered PM LQ but he cant lead under BKC.
Its good transparent advertisment for leader and candidates to apply.
This called good transparent/accountable political party.

SODELPA have not said what party stands for. Are they going into elections under 2013 rogue constitution to validate the election or validate the constitution or both?

They stood for 1997 constitution as the lawful constitution... so as a interested candidate I feel SODELPA needs to be clear if they come with non negotiable manifesto to seek a refarundum on the two constitutions and follow the majority ?
