"We were the first aircraft on the island. I was worried because there was no way to contact Vanuabalavu. The people there have nothing, the houses are gone. The pictures taken on the (NZAir Force) plane is nothing compared to what we saw...It is very sad to see the devastation up close. I'm glad to report everyone is alive but most are without homes."

Good work. Its good to see private citizens with plenty of dosh, rocking up and doing their on thing to support a worthy cause. We cant expect Government to do everything. This is a great story.

Vili, Eceli Rosa nee Koroi is just a small struggling business owner and is not rolling in diosh as u suggest. She would have had to sacrifice her savings or future earnings to pay for her plane charter that I estimate to be jn the vicinity of $15,000 - $20,000of I don't see the billionaire owners of the supermarket and product manufacturers from whom she made her purchases from chipping in and chartering sea planes to drop off much needed supplies in hard hit areas. The mega rich in Fiji do bot have to be asked. They are good at taking but bot giving.

Thanks for the clarification. No offence was meant. Its great story anyway about an individual making sacrifices for her kinsfolk.

Where there is the will, there is a way. Eceli Rosa and her family have demonstrated that. A society can never be destroyed so long as there are CITIZENS with that COMMITMENT to COMMUNITY.

A praiseworthy citizen initiative! A big Vinaka Vaka Levu to the Rosa family – for your well done and touching gesture. You have shown others (and us) the way to ‘directly’ assist the victims. Good news Indeed.
