STEP ASIDE OVER TEXTGATE MESSAGES: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister BIMAN PRASAD must step aside as Mrs Taniguchi's judicial review challenging DPP not to prosecute him moved to 21 March

11/1/2023

Fijileaks: Prasad has declined to admit or deny that he is the AUTHOR of those amorous text messages he is accused of exchanging with Mrs Taniguchi between June and October 2022

"The DPP failed to take into account the fact that Biman Prasad chose to remain SILENT when the allegations were put to him [by Police]. The DPP failed to take into account or to consider the WhatsApp messages to [Mrs Taniguchi] to show the conduct of Biman Prasad. The DPP failed to take into account the evidence of the witness which was corrobarative evidence. The DPP failed to consider the best interest of the VICTIM/or the Public"

*Fiji High Court will hear the judicial challenge in March. The NFP leader MUST step aside from all Ministerial responsibilities so the case could be heard without FEAR or FAVOUR. During the election, he shut the debate down over the text messages to Mrs Taniguchi by convincing 12,000 of his VOTERS that the Taniguchis were exacting revenge after NFP dropped Hiroshi Taniguchi as the party's NFP candidate. However, when Police took him in for questioning, he chose to remain SILENT (his constitutional right). He was charged with two counts of allegedly indecently annoying Mrs Taniguchi on two separate occasions but on 8 December the DDP Christopher Pryde decided not to proceed with the charges. Mrs Ari Taniguchi is challenging Pryde's decision before the Fiji High Court. The matter is now listed for further hearing on 21 March.
